Upgraded to top room which had a raised bed on a platform and a massive balcony with outdoor table and seating options for relaxing. Clean and cool water pool - perfect to enjoy the sunset. Owner and all the staff friendly and helpful. All our meals were cooked with love and delicious. Hotel has a boat and organises a day long snorkelling for a good price and was a sensational experience. Fantastic place to stay In Sekotong. Staff organised driver for day trip to Desert Point, Bangko Bangko beach for swimming.

My wife and I came here 1 month after the property opened. That was two years ago and upon our return we cannot say we were disappointed. What a little slice of paradise Shaya cottage is. Peaceful relaxing great restaurant and super staff. Jeff has great passion and love for the accommodation he has built and as soon as we arrived we felt right at home. Great restaurant too 😊

Shaya Cottage is a dreamy accomodation ⭐️ Jeff has created a small paradise here! Lovely staff that makes you feel like you’re family. Lovely rooms, beautifully designed, spacious, in such a calm green lush garden 🌸 We absoutely loved the snorkeling day tour with Wadi, and can 100% recommend! Wadi is the best guide you can wish for and you’ll experience a day full of snorkeling in different spots, enough chill time, guidance by Wadi and a fun time on the boat 🚤

No beach towel. No hot shower. No showerhead or trashcan in the toilet. The beach was very dirty the day we arrive and should be cleaned every day. And the breakfast is good but a little boring.

Lovely room, very different design from all properties we have been to. Sort of Greek vibe. Spacious and comfortable bed, good space for storing/ hanging up clothes. Really liked the veranda outside our room. We knew this before coming but no AC only fans but this worked fine, and also no hot water but again it’s hot a lot so don’t really need it. Pool was really nice. Food in restaurant good and staff very helpful and friendly. Booked onward travel from here. Only about 6/7 rooms so not busy which is nice. Also, would recommend the snorkelling trip, guide was very nice. They take card as payment as well as cash.

The food was excellent, offering a great variety to choose from throughout the stay. The WiFi was fast and reliable, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Extra fans in the room would be great for more air movement at night.

This is very much away from the tourist crowds and high-rise apartments.- a very peaceful location with views out over the water towards the local Gilis. We don't seek night markets and partying - so it suited us well. Be aware that Shaya Cottage is presented as an Eco-lodge. Hence they try to minimise energy usage and plastics. This means: no A/C and no hot water. The water in the shower was naturally warm enough for a refreshing shower without being ice cold - for which we had no problems.

Felt very welcome, even though we were much too early for check-in. We got a fresh welcome juice and then the staff fixed us up with a snorkeling trip. The room was very spacious, clean and nicely decorated with fresh flowers. Food and service was also very good. Overall a very good experience!

The only thing was the outside loungers were uncomfortable.

Breakfast was great, best omelet and banana pancakes. Mixed juice every morning was the best start to the day. Location is perfect for exploring outer islands. Shaya will organize snorkeling trips for you at a great price.

Cold showers but it didn't matter too much in the warm weather.

The breakfast was delicious and good value. We loved the Lombok coffee! The staff were friendly as was the owner who had some good recommendations about things to do in the area. There were views of the local islands from the accommodation which were lovely especially in the mornings and evenings. The beach was right out the front but not really a swimming beach. The pool was very refreshing and clean.

Absolutely loved our stay at Shaya! We felt right at home. The owner and staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. The snorkeling tour they provided was amazing, we had so much fun. The two cutest cats are also part of the Shaya family. The food in the restaurant is also really delicious. We were so sad to leave, but hopefully, we will come back.

We loved this place. Shaya Cottage is a really tasteful designed, comfortable and well located accomodation. The staff is sooo friendly. Especially Made was so kind and patient with our kids, always trying to help in each situation. He organised for example our scooter or our driver to the east west Coast of Lombok. We absolutely recommend the family room, pefectly made for 4 persons. You can relax in the pool, do Snorkeling Trips to the different small beautiful Islands (Secret Gilis) directly in front of the hotel or encounter the still rural and not touristic areal. The people here are really ally friendly and welcoming. Esoecially the kids always waving and greeting. At least OUR Kids loved this palace because of the cows, chicken in the area and at least nice cats at the cottage
