The entire area has little restaurants and ATMs are 2.5km away. Due to the location a bit elevated, the prayer calls are very loud even with earplugs.

The roofing of the room is metal so every time water drops fell we could hear them loudly, which was a bit annoying at night but manageable

It's quite cold at night so we slept wearing long pants as the blanket was not very thick.

I liked the view on the surrounding mountains and how close it is to many hikes. Staff gave us good advice on the hikes and organized transport for us.

About nine mosques around and the noise levels at 3:30am were overwhelming.

Sembalun is just breathtaking. This place is definitely an 8.5/9 out of 10 to take it all in and get a rest. The staff were calm rather than over the top friendly, which I personally prefer but some guests might like more attention.

The host guy just felt a bit off. He tried to charge us 100k per day for a poorly running scooter but dropped to 75k when we were paying, not sure why. For context, you could rent them in the center of town for 60k. The place was far out of town too so we had to go with his scooter or not at all. He also was unhelpful when we asked about bemos/buses to Mataram. He would only offer a private car for what seemed like an extortionate amount compared to others. We found there are bemos available in the end. Also the mie goreng for breakfast was not fried but just packet noodles drained of stock.

We stayed here for two nights, in two different rooms due to booking last minute. The only difference between the regular and deluxe rooms were AC (not needed) and a koi pond in the latter. Both rooms were comfortable and had good bathrooms. The verandas outside the rooms have great views over the valley below. Also, the pancakes for breakfast come with strawberries which was nice.

I personally have no negative impressions, but I just want to recommend to place/add a small table next to the bed :)

It gets load in the morning because of mosques calling for prayer (there are 9 in the town) so we woke up at 4.30. You need to get used to it.

The Cottage was clean and cozy, the bathroom was nice and also the deck was good edition to the cottage. It’s located close to the hills for hiking.

Dark basic room. Over priced. A long distance from shops, ATM, restaurants etc. Close to local mosques whose call to prayer commences at 3.30am.

They can improve on heater for shower that they face especially during raining season.

I really like the simplicity of the place. The view was magnificent. One can see really nice view of the surrounding. They also serve breakfast for us. They greet us well since we arrived late. The place is totally clean. I’m happy to return to this place again.

Bathroom. Really loud prayer from mosques (several around the village so all the sounds combine and it's quite uncomfortable, but I guess it's like that everywhere)
