Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

I loved everything about this place including the ambience, peacefulness and tranquillity. My lovely room which had every convenience including a small fridge, wardrobe , desk and mirror was extremely clean. It is in a convenient location and the staff and service was exceptional. It was a wonderful 7 day experience staying at Secret Garden Sky and Putu went out of her way to make things easier for me. She offered to take my bag on her scooter to Perama Bus as I was catching the bus to go to Munduk. I am sooo grateful for her kindness! I will definitely come back here again.

United KingdomThe quiet location - despite being so central. The friendly, helpful staff. The monkeys. The fact that it was so Balinese. It was welcoming and comfortable, with air conditioning in our room and large bottles of complementary water in communal areas. Breakfast was filling and healthy. Our room was cleaned daily. This was one of our favourite places to stay for all these reasons.

AustraliaThis is such a lovely hidden place. Right in the middle of Ubud but still very quite located. 10min walk to the monkey forest and close by local eatery and massages (please check the Warung and the massage next to the Warung in the little alley leading to this hotel). Rooms were simple but clean, spacious and with air conditioning. Hotel is very clean and free filtered water is provided too. Staff is very nice and you can get your laundry done too. We will come back!

SpainThe bathroom has no separation from shower and the rest (which, together with no ventilation and high humidity, makes the floor of the bathroom always wet). Also, expect ants in the bathroom and elsewhere (but that is 100% normal in a ground room in Bali and should not be confused with lack of cleaning!).
Super quiet and relaxing place in spite of being in the middle of Ubud , thanks to being at the end on a small alley road. Very charming garden in a traditional balinese-style house, with independent and paired "bungalows". Great swimming pool for relaxing. Great location for exploring the city on foot. When we booked for 3 (2 adults+1 kid), we were afraid that the kid may have to sleep with us (the description only mentioned a king-size bed). But it turned out that they put an extra floor-bed. About monkeys: we read some negative comments about them... but for us it was so nice to have them around. They come to the garden at some times but as long as you do not try to approach them or leave stuff outside that may interest them, they should not be a problem at all... quite the contrary, we enjoyed a lot watching them (most tourists are paying a high entry fee to Monkey Forest and you get to have them around for free!)

AustraliaNothing.
Hidden gem in busy Ubud. In a quite street with excellent massage place and local food nearby. Hotel is much nicer than the picture show. Pool is good size and refreshing. Breakfast is eggs with toast and jam or pancake, all with fresh fruit and juice. Room is simple but good. Air conditioning a plus. Bathroom good but shower without curtains. Kids loved it so did we. We will come back.

AustraliaI didn't like that I had to leave ;(
Putu and the other 2 staff were wonderful. They were friendly and tended to any requests instantly. When I arrived, I couldn't believe my luck. The pool and gardens are beautifully kept, and the room was basic, but everything I needed for my 10-day stay. It is very peaceful, and I often felt I was the only person there. The breakfast is definitely value for money. I would recommend Secret Garden Sky and definitely stay there again myself if I am back in Ubud again.

United KingdomI enjoyed a lot my stay in here. The location was perfect. It was located very quite side road. The room was super spacey with fridge and tables. The place literally few minutes away from Monkey Forrest and all the shops and restaurants around the corner. The internet connection was decent as I worked from there a few nights I didn’t have any issue. The pool was clean. The owner and stuff was super helpful, ask them what you need they’ll help you out :)

Staff were so lovely and friendly, rooms were comfortable and had lovely seating areas outside. There are water tanks outside on the balcony’s for two rooms to share, our neighbour was quite rude didn’t want to share but the staff were so lovely and accommodating and brought us our own water tank without us even asking we were very grateful. Location was perfect a short walk to Main Street, very quiet and peaceful, lovely pool area and breakfast.
