How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe vibe of this place is really nice, lots of little bungalows with gorgeous views, a pool area, hangout deck and restaurants. The huts themselves are simple but good value for money. You are in the heart of Tetebatu and we did an amazing tour with Juicy through the rice paddies, 2 swimmable waterfalls and the monkey forest. This was a highlight of our trip! The staff here are really nice and the hotel has a really good vibe, we’re glad we chose to stay here and would recommend.
We didn’t have a mosquito net unlike other huts that were the same and the door onto our outdoor bathroom didn’t lock.

Verified reviewIt was a very nice stay, with good view, nice staff and and lot of activities you can do. They have a dirtbikes community and you can ride tracks in the forest/jungle, it was a very cool experience!
Sometimes the wifi is not the best in the rooms far away from the reception

Verified reviewNicely build bungalow, backpackers vibe hostel part of Sama Sama. One a week there is a band playing on Saturdays. There is also a swimmingpool. We did the walking tour, a must do!!
If you can’t live close to nature it’s not the place for you maybe

Verified reviewAMAZING views, place is simple but has everything you need. Breakfast was good, location was great, overall very happy:)
Would've stayed longer but the area is very loud, obviously not anyone's fault! Waking up at 4:30am every morning is just a challenge if you aren't used to it. Ear plugs were no match for the sound here.

Verified reviewIt was in a beautiful location, very friendly and helpful staff, the view from my room was incredible and the loft where you can sit and read, meditate, chill, was lovely. The bar and live music was fantastic and the meals were great.
The bathroom, although beautiful, was open air and in view of some other rooms and people walking past above.

Verified reviewLoved the laid back vibes of the place. Views of rice terraces/jungle valleys were spectacular and very peaceful. The giant swing, pool and bamboo bar (and singing barman) with fire pit where great too. Our kids loved hanging out in the upstairs part with the hammocks and swing seats, plus meeting the dog. We stayed 2 nights and did a walking tour with Duan and Opik, which was exceptional. We toured rice terraces, local villages, coffee shops, waterfalls and monkey Forrest. They were both really informative and accommodating and helped out with carrying bags and were very caring and supportive of our kids (3yo and 8yo). The double room we stayed in was perfect for our family too.
Everything was great for our 2 nights.

Verified reviewIts a beautiful, fun, vibrant place. The rooms have gorgeous views and a loft to sit and read/meditate etc
The bathroom was open, really open, I could see the people in the room behind me when I was not only showering but also on the toilet. The smooth rocks on the floor, although pretty, were super slippery and I had to almost climb through a large plant to get into it. It was beautiful to look at, not to use.

Verified reviewThey are new so don't be put off by a limited amount of reviews! Second home is cosy, comfortable and secluded, but still close to the rest of Tetabatu. The staff are incredible and always there to help. The bungalow is spacious, the bed is comfortable, and the bathroom is one of the nicer ones in the bungalows in Tetabatu. Also, the price is good!
Nothing

Verified reviewFriendly staff; cost effective and close by to the monkey forest, walking tour and waterfall.
The description doesn’t exactly match what we were provided. Second home bungalows or Sama Sama Bungalows? Was more rustic than the room description led on. Perfect for back packers and had more of a hostel vibe to it. If a party and vibe was what you are looking for then it’s the perfect place. Not quiet and serene which is what we thought we thought were getting.

Verified reviewThe staff are great, especially Ricki, he's a legend. Food good, beautiful outlook from my bungalow! Great communal areas. Love the outdoor shower. Great to have the pool as an option even though I didn't use it. The bungalow is simple and cute and perfect size for one person.
Bed bugs!!! I have bites all over and didn't realise it was bed bugs until I left. I was there 4 nights! Holes in mosquito net. Smelly pillows. I had to wait at the airport about an hour for my pick up, unsure if he'd forgotten to organise it but it's unpleasant getting off the plane and being harassed by taxi guys, luckily one was kind enough to let me use his phone to contact Andy the manager to find out what was going on. So I was hesitant to organise onward transfer from them but that worked out fine.

Verified reviewThe huts were lovely. The views were amazing, and the pool was excellent.
The music... somehow we would have preferred listening to the crickets rather than 1970s American rock music (which felt complerely out of place). The food was fine, but a bit underwhelming. Nonetheless, this place is well recommended!

Verified reviewThe bungalow (nr 2) was great! Absolutely stunning view. Truly amazing. The eating/chill area looked really nice, characteristic. Great staff aswell, everybody friendly and helpful. Shoutout to Rapa for a great tour through Tetebatu, waterfalls and black monkey forest. Music night was a lot of fun!
When we arrived (22.30 at night) there was a bit of a problem with our booking. We could not go into the Second home bungalow we had booked so we had to stay in a different small hut at Sama Sama bungalows (same shared space). It was only one night and they brought our stuff to the actual bungalow the next day. We were compensated for the night in the wrong place, but it was fine.
