How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI loved everything! The entire family running the place are so sweet and amazing. They give excellent recommendations and are super helpful. The breakfast is great, the location is beautiful. Its about 10 minutes outside of town on motorbike, which you can rent there for a good price, and theres a great restaurant right across the street. Not suitable for walking to town but thats for the best because the town is far too crowded.

Verified reviewThis was our first time staying in Ubud. Secluded Jungle Villa as our homebase was a fantastic decision. Our villa overlooked the most beautiful forest with running waterfalls. The room was more like the size of a small house, it was private, clean and beautifullly built and designed. We received personal service from Nyoman and Putu who were absolutely incredible. The breakfast was delicious, with many options. A variety of great fresh juices, coffee, tea and fresh fruit along with many main options. The beauty of the location is that it's 10min out of the main street/town of Ubud, so out of the hustle and bustle but close enough to get there in a flash. For anyone wanting to visit Ubud, I could not recommend this place enough. Great value for money and just a wonderful stay all in all. Won't be looking anywhere else upon my return to Ubud!

Verified reviewThe owner and family are friendly.
The property is completely overpriced. There are much better alternatives available in the area. My bungalow had no view and was closed in by dense vegetation making it hot and claustrophobic. During my stay somebody was burning garbage in the drainage ditch close to the entrance. The bedding was old and smelled musty. The shower is so close to the toilet that the cabinet and toilet gets sopping wet. The place is depressing and tired. There is no proper reception ot seperation from the owner’s family compound which is full of bikes, washing and other domestic projects all in full view as you walk down a narrow, unlit passage to the bungalow. The bungalow shared a wall with the kitchen and you could hear cooking noises and conversation. It didn’t feel private with staff watering in front of the bungalow while I was there. Surely this could be done while the guest is gone.

Verified reviewThe villa looks really nice and the view to the jungle is amazing. Nyoman and his wife are really nice and friendly, they helped us get a motorcycle and they advised us on things to do and visit. I would definitely recommend this place. Be aware that this villa is really facing the jungle so at night you might hear the animals around, but they are just outside, we did not have any inside. I really liked the breakfast which we had with a very nice view. The location is also great, far from the noise and crowds, but close enough to most of the tourists places.
I liked everything about this place.

Verified reviewVery nice and helpful host. Beautiful and big bedroom and a nice terrace. Very quite area with a local restaurant right across the street. The host also rents scooters and is offering laundry. You can also book day trips with the host.
Don't be surprised that there can be some animals in the room :)

Verified reviewThis is a lovely, peaceful spot at the back of a traditional Balinese family home. It's a little way out of the centre of Ubud - close enough to get there easily but removed enough to be very quiet and peaceful. The room is comfortable and the family that owns the property is lovely. You will sleep very well here, and being able to have breakfast on your own little terrace is a nice touch.
There was little to dislike. Some of the furnishings are a little aged and show signs of long-term use, but it's really no issue. Also, the bathroom has an outdoor shower, which is beautiful, but means you have to be careful not to let the bugs into the room! Fortunately there is a mosquito net around the bed, so that helps.

Verified reviewNyomin and his family make you feel welcomed the moment you arrive. The property is located in a very quiet village 10min drive from the busy Ubud town. The rooms are Indonesian styled units and have everything you need. Breakfast was served on the patio overlooking the jungle and was simply delicious. You get a choice of eggs, nasi goreng or pancakes. The rice fields are just outside the property. Nyomin drove us around and to/from UBud. You can also rent scooters from him to get around. we will definitely come back in the near future. such a different and relaxing experience.
Two units/villas have a beautiful full view over the jungle valley. The one we had had a limited view due to the trees and shrubs in front of the patio.

Verified reviewNice place, tidy and big. Great staff! So friendly and caring, our clothes got soaked from the rain during our drive so they offered to move the clothes horse around following the sun so we had dry clothes. Lovely breakfast and juice!
The shower temperature was a bit up and down but once we turned it off for a few minutes and started again it was working great
