How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewEverything was great - the staff, the location, atmosphere, cleanliness. Each morning a fresh breakfast was made and served by the staff, we could choose from a few options, but banana pancakes were our favourite! The staff is extremely friendly and helped us transfer to Lombok.

Verified reviewWe stayed here for 3 nights, The rooms are basic but very clean and have outdoor bathrooms which are nice. The staff Adi and Masuan were brilliant, funny and fantastic chefs, they did a great breakfast for each guest and they’re around to help or ask for advice etc. For the price the rooms are great. Our ac wasn’t working one night and they moved us to another room and got the ac technician to come and check it out which was great to see. You can hire bikes, the place is a 10 min walk to east or west beaches and about 15 mins to the main town part near the harbour. Very relaxed and chilled place with fantastic staff.

The bikes cost 50,000 per day (not 40,000 as listed) and there should be a reduced price to offer the bikes for the duration for your stay, opposed to paying daily. Saves having to have the cash every day and would make it feel a bit more relaxed. No coffee/ tea in the room as listed We had shack .1 which is next to the breakfast area so a little noisy if you want to lay in

Verified reviewThe staff were really nice and accommodating. I really liked Juls - he was really helpful at any time of the day. I got the room that was facing the garden. That was really nice. I liked that there was a faucet right outside the patio to wash our feet and shoes - thought that was really important since Gili is an island paradise with lots of sand. The room was clean and comfy and hence really value for money. There were marts just a few steps away from the property. However to get around it was easier by bicycle or e-scooter.
Would have preferred it if there was more closet or desk space. The location was a 10-15 min walk away from the ferry terminal. The bathroom was an outdoor concept - so if it rained you will be showering with the rain water or if you are doing your business you will get a bit wet - also more opportunities for insects.

This can happen to any place, but the first night one of our rooms Air conditioning was not working, and it was hot this first night (We notified it in the afternoon). Without any fan nor proper ventilation, it was very hot in the room. We had to sleep at 5 in one bedroom which had an air conditioning working. However the staff found a solution for the second night and moved us to another room which was working perfectly. We understand that this kind of problems can happen, but from a personal experience, it was not the best for this first night. However, the rest of our stay was good. i would also add that the place look smaller than on the pictures and not as well maintained. (it s not in bad condition though, but a few touch up, here and there would be great).

It was the worst night I had in Indonesia. Dirt, terrible bed, noise, lots of worms. If you like to stay up all night and have everything in ants an ideal choice.We didn't even go to breakfast because we were scared of what we saw.

Verified reviewI spent almost a month at the Casablanca. The guys are extremely kind and helpful. The rooms and the entire complex are very, very clean. Doors close tightly and no insects penetrate (not a given here on the island). You only hear the call to prayer from a distance. The garden is lovingly maintained, and you feel like you're in a little jungle paradise - and the best restaurant on the island is just around the corner. The Casablanca is located on a main road yet is still a haven of peace. The five aesthetic cottages are within convenient walking distance: 12 minutes to sunrise, 20 minutes to sunset, and 15 minutes to the harbor. You can pull your suitcase; the road is good (no need for a suffering horse). I can definitely recommend staying at Casablanca. I've seen several accommodations during my time here. Casablanca is among the very best on the island. The value for money is unbeatable.

Verified reviewThe bed was pretty comfortable, the garden and the vibe there was pleasant, the staff was very nice, the location was good right in the middle of the island, breakfast was good with lots of fruit. The room was pretty well sealed.
This place needs major renovation and updating. The furniture was worn, several things need to be updated and refreshed such as repainting big stains on the wall, brown looking furniture, updating bathroom and shower which has rusty bits. The shower is covered in these stones which is obviously very hard to clean and there is green moss growing on them as well as various insects such as worms and ants living in the rocky area of the shower. I tried to spend the least time possible in the bathroom. Given the rating, I expected more. However I don't blame the staff for this, rather the owners need to invest in updating the place. It's a pity because it has lots of potential but you can see there needs to be investments to keep it good.
