Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing. Everything was perfect
We absolutely loved our stay at Sawah Villas. The service was amazing and they made us feel like part of their family. Breakfast is served in your villas everyday and is delicious. The villa itself is immaculate and exactly as pictured. We never wanted to leave and as a same sex couple we were made to feel to welcome. The location was beautiful, close enough to get a cheap grab ride into town but remote enough to feel out of the bustle and completely relaxed. Would 100% stay here again!!

AustraliaIt's a standalone villa away from the main Sawah Villas and can be dark outside. There was late night villa construction nearby so this could be uncomfortable if you're alone walking past the workers.
We were able to choose our breakfast each morning from a small menu, it has a nice kitchen with a water filter. Hosts are very responsive over Whatsapp.

New ZealandJust the breakfast issue mentioned above
Gorgeous villa with private pool set in quiet location just outside the busy town centre. Nice walk to town through rice fields - not so convenient when coming back after dark. Breakfasts were a bit inconsistent - too early or too late and usually not very hot, which could be easily fixed. Villa itself very comfortable with lovely outdoor bathroom and staff were very welcoming and helpful.

United KingdomOther than it being more than walking distance from Ubud there is nothing I can say to fault it.
The property exceeded our expectations. It was beautifully decorated and the garden was very well kept. Very comfortable and spacious! The staff were very attentive and took care of everything we asked of them. We had a beatifully presented floating breakfast on the last day.

United KingdomUnfortunately, like many places in Ubud, there was construction next door, however the manager spoke to the workers and they did keep the noise to a minimum. It didn't look like it would take much longer to finish though (we visited early June 25). Nothing else negative to share, although a torch and the walking route into town would be useful, but our phones did the job 😊.
The villa was stunning and had everything we needed, exactly as pictured. It was an easy 25-30 minute, traffic free walk into Ubud, or a quick Grab taxi. It was nice to be out of the busy centre. The team arranged a yummy vegan breakfast in the apartment every morning and were very helpful when arranging activities. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful holiday villa, we recommend, if only for the team and the koi fish 🙏☺️.

ChinaAlthough the door of the room is locked, it is a little unstable and may cause some concerns about security. However, a safebox is also provided. The bathroom only has one bottle of water for washing, which is not enough for two people to stay. It is recommended that each person should have a bottle.
Outside the hotel is a rice paddy, with beautiful natural scenery. It is also very close to the central area of Ubud. The hotel staff are friendly and enthusiastic. They can also help rent motorcycles for convenient travel. The breakfast is also very delicious.

United KingdomLiterally nothing
Such a perfect little quiet spot that is still nice and close to all the main spots in Ubud Wayan and the rest of the staff are so wonderful and friendly, they will go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need and are happy during your stay Greeted with a nice chilled bottle by our pool on arrival and as we were on our honeymoon, the romantic package was just perfect with a beautiful bed display, flower petal bath and aromas decorated to greet us after a long flight The villa itself is just lovely, perfectly secluded private pool with loungers and a little cabana at the end of the garden Inside is beautifully spacious, well air conditioned and easy to customise to your preference including a big ceiling fan WiFi and Netflix were nice additions although not needed much as there’s so much to do and when you get in you are fully content relaxing in or by the pool The in house massage service is perfect after a long day But the most important thing to note really is how wonderful Wayan and the rest of the staff treat you like family during your stay If we ever come back here, we will 10000% be booking again

United StatesNothing comes to mind.
We booked this villa last minute and were pleasantly surprised with our decision. We were warmly greeted on arrival with a welcome drink and a tour of our room and outdoor space. Everything was beautifully decorated and spotless — you can tell a lot of care and attention go into both creating and maintaining the property. The outdoor area was peaceful and thoughtfully designed, with a private pool, a small cabana, and a breakfast table. The villa is surrounded by rice fields, adding an extra layer of beauty and tranquility. Breakfast was delicious and a perfect way to start the day. The staff were very accommodating and kind, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Even though it feels secluded, we could still walk to an excellent coffee shop and a few restaurants nearby, and the Ubud city center was just a short drive or ride away. Overall, it was a beautiful and relaxing place to stay, and we would happily return.
