How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewVery friendly and attentive staff. Delicious, home cooked food served on site. Clean and comfortable room with a spectacular view. Excellent value for money.
My only criticism is that the path from the main road is not clearly marked and the place is difficult to find. Otherwise a fabulous stay - 10/10!

Verified reviewGreat views of rice fields, the food was tasty, and they helped us arrange transport services.
The bungalows are not as clean and spacious as shown in the advertised photos. You are living among the rice fields so you should expect insects which is normal, but there was a lot of dust in our room. There was a fan completely covered in dust so we didn’t use it. The bathroom also needs updating. We didn’t use the shower because of the poor condition. Before arriving we asked if we could book a walking tour to see rice fields, waterfalls and the monkey forest. They said no problem and we can arrange it when we arrive. When we arrived we arranged the tour for the next day and we asked what time it would start. They said we could pick 9am or 9:30am, so we picked 9:30am. The next day we were ready for tour at 9:30am but we were then told it was a group tour - a group isn’t an issue for us, but it then didn’t start until 10am. We were told that the tour would last approximately 4-5 hours. The tour guide was from the accommodation and he was friendly but overly chatty. He did helpfully explain the different fruits and trees we saw, and he explained different processes for them and for the rice fields, but then he would talk for a long time about very random things while we were standing still. He also mentioned that he loves smoking and drugs, which is fine, but after mentioning it so many times it then became annoying! Because we spent so much time standing still, we didn’t get back to the accommodation until 4pm, so the tour ended up being 6 hours. This was an issue for the two other couples in the group. One couple was told by the accommodation that they could start the tour at 8am because the couple needed to be back at 1pm to go somewhere else in Lombok. The other couple needed to be back at the accommodation at 3pm because they had a driver picking them up. They told the guide this and double checked that we would be back by 3pm, and the guide said “yes, it’s fine, don’t worry”.

Verified reviewThe staff is the friendliest I’ve found throughout my whole trip in Indonesia. This is not your typical hotel/home-stay, but rather an experience where you get the rare chance to get involved in a small community and village, making you feel like one of their own. Everyone is super friendly, available for anything you need, always with a smile on their faces, with local guides who really know their way around rice fields and monkey forests. I think this is the closest we got to have a genuine Indonesian experience. The staff made us feel like home and we left feeling like we had made new friends for life.
If you know that you’re coming into a real life-like experience, living like the locals, then there isn’t anything to not like. The rooms are not hotel-like, sure, there can be a few bugs here and there, but that’s what happens when you’re staying literally next to the jungle and the rice fields. If you want a hotel-like experience, perhaps this isn’t your place. But if you want a real, genuine experience with people who really take care of you and go above and beyond to transmit you the genuine Indonesian experience, then this is your place. The path to get to the bungalows is a bit tricky, but it’s also part of the experience.

Verified reviewPlace is a gem. The paintings, the breakfast area, the whole vibe was amazing. Loved the hammocks and how kind the staff were. Yummy breakfast. And hot water showers :)
Just the road to get to the accommodation is bit tricky to navigate. But it’s worth it for where you stay.

Verified reviewWhen you enter the bungalows you have a sign that says something like "enter as a guest and leave as family" and they delivered. This place has a special charm. It definitely made our experience in Lombok the best of the trip. They are located in the middle of a small village and the facilities are authentic. You're surrounded by nature and the host and employees are very friendly, humble, willing to help and share some laughs. We booked with them a tour to the waterfalls, black monkey forest and the rice fields. Cok, our guide, had lots of experience and was very funny. He then took us to a place for lunch that was very cheap and delicious!! After the tour we were lucky to attend a wedding in the village and it was just amazing. It was the same host who invited us and made us feel like home. For the next day we booked with them a tour that included local market, handcraft spots and a cooking class. It was so much fun. Tony is the best driver and took us to the local market, made us try some local snacks, and then took us to the pottery, bamboo and sarong art shops. There we learned the process for all these crafts. When we arrived into the bungalows, everything was ready for the cooking class and we shared a lovely moment with the women from the village. They don't speak English but we had Aziz doing the translation for us. The food was unique and delicious. We had three rooms and each room was different, only one had hot water, but it was okay since we used it after long sunny days. It is a magic place where you get to share with locals and you're taken out of your comfort zone. For the price we paid, it had the breakfast included which was a big plus.
The staff was always at the bar drinking and smoking which killed a bit the vibe of the experience. It was a bit chaotic and informal the payment, but again part of the experience. A bit less of alcohol consumption could improve a lot the experience and management of the place.

Verified reviewwhen entering the bungalow you find a sign that says “come as guest and leave as family”. although we have only spent one night here, we totally got where that sign came from. we hang out with the stag, who was lovely and friendly. they offer tours and cooking time. we really got the true and authentic Tetebatu vibe and we are extremely grateful for the moments spent together. amazing location, which felt very local, in the middle of the nature. highly recommended.

Verified reviewThe location is wonderful, located at the end of a bumpy way and with a wonderful view on the rice fields. Aziz and his team are wonderful people, they will help you with anything. They can show the region, the local market is a must, the handcraft shops around are also great. The food at Satu Lingkung is great, they prepare food on demand with lots of things from own garden. Best place in Tetebatu, and prices are really low.
No storage in the rooms.

We picked the wrong moment as there was no warm water left during showering

Verified reviewThe room was exactly like in the photos – small and quite dark, located in a simple hut – but that’s exactly what gives it its charm in the middle of the rice fields. You don’t really come here for the room itself, but for the incredible view. You can see the waterfall right from the rooms, sleep surrounded by rice terraces, and wake up to the sound of chickens – it’s a truly authentic experience. The food they cook in the small kitchen next door is fantastic: the breakfast omelette and pancakes were delicious, and the Nasi Goreng was amazing – unbeatable for the price. The real highlight, however, is the tour organized by the hotel. The guide speaks several languages, including excellent English, and tailored the day perfectly to our pace. We spent around five to six hours exploring, saw lots of monkeys, beautiful waterfalls, and endless rice terraces. The rhythm was relaxed with plenty of breaks, and it turned into one of the most beautiful days of our trip – the hotel fits perfectly into this experience.
What we liked less: there isn’t much comfort in the room itself, so be prepared for something very simple – but for the price and the location, it’s absolutely unbeatable.

Verified reviewWe had such a fantastic stay here, a highlight of Lombok. The guys who run the place are lovely, really friendly, great cooks, great to hang out with. You won't want to leave! It's actually hard to go anywhere else to eat without getting lost but the food is so good you don't need to! You can also organise any trips and transfers through them including 2nd summit of Rinjani (which I recommend) and rice paddy tour. Then just hangout and enjoy their company/music. Thank you! ❤️ Also it's beautiful and the rooms are fab!
Nothing!

Verified reviewThe location was stunning and the hammock was cool
The staff didn’t stop playing music until 3 am and they where talking all night when guests where trying to sleep I’m not fussy but the floor in the hut felt like it was going to collapse the dust was insane and I looked into the kitchen there was somebody sleeping in there and it wasn’t very clean at all

Verified reviewThe setting and views are stunning! And the traditional style bungalows were very cute. The walking tour of the local ricefields, waterfalls and monkey forest is a must! The chicken soup was amazing. Loved the guitar playing and singing.
A few things need renewing. It's a long, rough road to get there but it's definately worth it. The guys are so laid back you sometimes don't know what's happening, but it always worked out. You just have to ask, they're very helpful.

Verified reviewGood value for money, the bungalow is simple but is all you need. There’s space to dry clothes and they sell meals and drinks. Local tours can be arranged whenever you want, Bandi took me on a tour of all the best photo spots of the rice fields and to visit the nearby waterfalls. If you take a tour, make sure you know all the details of where you will visit and pack a day bag accordingly. The views are really good from all around the area and it’s a nice place to relax if you came from the chaos of Kuta. I’d suggest staying at least 2 nights as I didn’t think 1 night was enough here
Entrance road is very steep and intimidating if you aren’t super confident on the scooter. There are a lot of mosques in the area and therefore the combined early morning call to prayer is loud enough to wake you, they provide earplugs though

Verified reviewHaving breakfast included is a big plus, as the location makes it a bit difficult to go out and look for food. It’s an excellent option if you’re looking for peace, quiet, and a break from the city. The place is surrounded by rice fields, so the views are incredible. Just keep in mind that, apart from the Tetebatu tour offered by the accommodation, there isn’t much to do in the area. In our case, we stayed for two nights and it was perfect — we were coming from the craziness of Gili and heading to Kuta, Lombok, so the calm was just what we needed.
The room was very small for the size of the bed, so there wasn’t much space left. The lighting could also be improved. It’s important to know that getting to the accommodation isn’t very easy. The taxi drops you off on the main road, and from there you have to walk about 5–10 minutes down a dirt path with slopes. In our case, it started raining just as we arrived, which made it tricky — the path was slippery and carrying our backpacks made it even harder.

Verified reviewAmazing location, stunning views, short walk through rice fields to a beautiful waterfall, lush garden, absolutely tranquil place. The cottage itself is pretty charming, quite small and basic, but has all that you need for a short stay - fan ( no need for AC in there), hot water, bedside lamp..
I didn't dislike it, but just heads up- if you don't have own scooter, the place it's tiny bit far to walk to shops/restaurants (however you can get food and drinks there directly). The tranquility is worth it. The rooms are pretty small so if you have large luggage, might be bit challenging
