How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThis is our second time in Wongaya Gede. I'm glad we stayed at Saridevi this time. Our villa was comfortable. We were in villa 4 and the views from our sit-out area were breathtaking - a mini Jatiluwih. The closed / covered bathroom was a blessing and I could shower comfortably! Abundant hot water with enough pressure to make you enjoy your shower. Santhi, Made and Gede were friendly, helpful and never pushy. Gede is a gem and I enjoyed talking to him very much. The views from the restaurant will sweep you off your feet! I liked that all the prices for their services were clearly marked on a blackboard. Thank you for a lovely stay.
There is scope to improve! 1. The breakfast was repetitive. 2. The villa (might be the wood) was a bit musty. I don't think it gets enough sun. 3. There was a strong smell of dung near our villa 4. I felt the services were a touch overpriced. Example a drop to Munduk was 550K.

Verified reviewThe authentic balinese family hospitality in breathtaking rice terrace and serene jungle surroundings. A peaceful secluded retreat from the tourist areas of Bali. We were welcomed by Santi and Made like long lost friends with Gede always ready to inform us on life and culture of the nearby village people. Five attractive bungalows are spread out throughout the large property assuring privacy and beautiful views of cool greenery and pretty rice paddies. The small open restaurant was a casual spot to linger and be amazed at the breathtaking view. I would definitely recommend two or three nights there to experience this unique opportunity.

Verified reviewWe loved the location of this ecolodge and the wonderful staff, esp Gede, who went the extra mile for us!! So attentive and polite. The owners, aunty and uncle, were very kind too and informed us of all sorts of aspects of living remotely and running an organic farm. The food was freshly cooked and very nice. We loved the cooler temperature in the hills. We loved the cooking class!
That it rained so much and everything got so damp. It was a shame that they had put us in the wrong villa initially, but this got rectified. The wifi in the largest villa might need upgrading.

Verified reviewMagical — this place is truly a hidden gem, lovingly run by an amazing Balinese family. It’s the spirit of the family that makes it unforgettable: warm, hospitable, unfiltered — the true Bali you can only feel, not explain. From the breathtaking views to the simple beauty of daily life here, every moment invites you into a slower, more connected rhythm. If you seek solitude and a deep connection with nature, this place will feel like a sanctuary. The rooms are modest yet very comfortable, filled with beautiful wooden furniture that feels both grounding and welcoming. The beds are cozy, making it easy to sink into peaceful rest after a day under the wide open skies. And then there’s Bruno — their sweet dog, who seems to embody all the joy and gentleness of this home. The homemade food is absolutely wonderful: simple, nourishing, made with heart — you can taste the care in every bite. More than just a stay, it feels like being welcomed into a family. It’s the kind of place that calls you back, again and again — a rare kind of magic that stays with you long after you leave.
Everything was fine :)

Verified reviewOur stay at Saridevi Ecolodge was truly unforgettable, thanks to the incredible hospitality of Made and Santi. They went above and beyond to make my girlfriend’s birthday special, surprising us with thoughtful touches that made the day memorable. The ecolodge itself is nestled amidst stunning rice terraces, offering a serene escape from the hustle and bustle. Santi’s home-cooked meals, prepared with fresh ingredients from their garden, were some of the best we’ve had in Bali. Made’s guided tours through the rice fields provided deep insights into the local culture and environment. Their warmth and genuine care made us feel like part of their family. We can’t wait to return and highly recommend Saridevi Ecolodge to anyone seeking an authentic Balinese experience.
It’s fairly remote, but this is why we chose this lodge so not a problem for us. And be warned - the lodge is in the nature close to active rice fields, so expect lots of insect sounds and critters at all times of day.

Verified reviewAmazing spacious rooms in the middle of the rice fields, it was incredible to sleep with the sound of the cicadas and geckos through the night, waking up in the lush green is quite an experience. The views from the restaurant are breathtaking, overlooking the volcano, and the couple that runs the hotel are super friendly and with excellent english! The food was delicious too, simple indonesian food, but made with so much love. Totally recommend it!

Verified reviewMama Santi and Bli Made are such lovely people that made us feel like family. The ecolodge is situated in the middle of the rice terraces, completely away from the hectic touristic areas - we recommend doing the 2h trecking tour through the rice fields. It was beautiful and very informative! Our room had a stunning view and was very cozy. What we particularly liked were the vegetarian/vegan options for lunch and dinner and the fresh products from their garden. We definitely recommend staying at Saridevi ecolodge!
