Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe smell in the shower / bathroom is a bit unpleasant and could be a bit renewed.
The room is very cozy and clean. Not too far from ubud center but quite and in a friendly local neighborhood. I really appreciated the daily cleaning.

New ZealandIt’s a bit away from it all but I was looking for that.
A wee little one bedroom with a kitchen attached. Close enough and with enough distance to feel like you’re getting away. A short walk to the cafes of Penestanan. Around the corner from Gaya Ceramics. Very clean and comfortable.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a wonderful property in Ubud, and I can't recommend it highly enough! From the moment I arrived, Melli, the owner, made me feel incredibly welcome. Her warm hospitality and prompt responses to any questions I had truly enhanced my experience. The room itself was immaculate—spotlessly clean and thoughtfully appointed with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was equally impressive, fully equipped for those who like to cook, and the private balcony was a perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying the serene surroundings. Overall, this stay was exceptional. The combination of a beautiful, well-maintained space and Melli's attentive service made for a memorable and enjoyable visit. If you're looking for a fantastic place to stay in Ubud, look no further!

PortugalWonderful place. The flat is super new, finally a room with snow-white sheets and towels. The place is ideal to stay away from the hustle and bustle, there is a beautiful garden. For working with the computer it is an ideal place. You can have the room cleaned every day, there is everything in the room. The owners are very kind. Definitely a place I would gladly return to.

United KingdomThe stay with Melly was an amazing experience. Very accommodating and kind, really going the extra mile to look after the guests staying. They helped me when I unfortunately got ill during my trip. Which allowed me to recover quickly. This is a brilliant stay if you want zen. The garden is secluded and secure, full of lush green and koi fish. It is a little bit outside Ubud, but grabs are easy to get and cheap. Or you can rent a scooter from the Homestay itself and get around easily to anywhere in ubud area. We really loved our time here and will be back when next in Bali. Suksma 🙏

I found Sari House by chance as the hotels I usually stay in were fully booked - and how serendipitous this turned out to be! The location is fabulous as it's in the middle of Sayan and just a short scooter ride from the centre of Ubud. The house is a traditional Balinese-style house and I had a room at the bottom of a beautiful garden with an outside kitchen and dining area. What I loved is that I had total privacy yet at the same time felt like I was staying with a family. Meli and her staff are super friendly and made sure that I had everything I needed. The room is modern, clean, and comfortable, and the kitchen is fully equipped. (There's also a warung across the road with really tasty food.) I can't recommend Sari House highly enough for a beautiful, Balinese homestay experience - I will definitely be returning next time I'm in Ubud 😊

AustraliaThe staff were super nice! The bed was ok, everything was clean. Bit expensive for what it is, but I booked last minute, so not many places available. The property was not very well located, the street is a bit noisy, but quiets down late at night!

UkraineThe most struggle for us was the noise from the street (it counts for 2 rooms that are located closer to the street). All cars, motorcycles, people - you will be hearing all of that, especially if you spend time outside the room. I guess rooms that are located in the inner building are more safe from that kind of noise.
Spacious and simple room, nice kitchen and area around it (kind of like a terrace), beautiful inner yard. As far as, we were also working from here, the wifi was enough. The host Meli is very helpful and nice, she gets us an extender to plug in our laptops, and was ready to help when we needed it. Also, it's very convenient to have a place to park a motorbike

New CaledoniaThe room was very noisy, only 2 metres from the road. I couldn't sleep because of the traffic noise and there is a factory opposite with saws and drills making noise from morning to night. The room didn't have any/much ventilation and felt claustrophobic.
The owner was friendly but didn’t speak much/an English.
