How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe first thing we noticed about our room was just how clean it was—the floor was shining! The view was beautiful and the staff were extremely helpful, accommodating and polite, and even went out of their way to surprise my mom with a birthday cake on her birthday!
The free water in the water dispenser in our room tasted a bit old and we had to wear a shower cap if we wanted to shower without washing our hair — but these weren’t really issues for us.

Verified reviewA lot of mold in the shower, and the hotel doesn't follow Indonesian pool regulations which require measuring chlorine levels daily. The pictures make it look like it is in a forested area but it is right next to a busy road. The pictures really aren't an accurate representation of the area. If you are looking for a quiet and serene getaway, stay some other place. You will hear construction work and traffic constantly.

They placed me in a room next to the pool. The room had a terrible moldy smell, I spent 5 minutes inside , started having headaches and went outside to search for another place to stay. Dirty bathroom floor with mold and hair all over. All walls covered with mold …. I am writing this review not because I want to harm, but because I believe that MOLD is a major issue and you can’t sell it even for that much money

Verified reviewI spent 6 nights here as a solo female traveller and it was the perfect stay. The staff were extremely hospitable, always greeting me by name. Breakfast is chosen from a set menu and gets delivered and set up for you every morning. The view from my room was beautiful and I loved having breakfast on the balcony every morning. The property is 1-2 streets away from the more “walkable” part of central Ubud. I used a grab bike to get most places in the town but you could walk if you wanted, the sidewalks are just inconsistent around that street. The room was clean, albeit felt a little damp at times(possibly because of the rain). One of the things that I really loved was that there was a water cooler in the room! It was soo convenient to use for brushing my teeth and refilling my water bottles without having to go out and buy water bottles. More stays need to have that!
Nothing really! Maybe one thing to improve is that it would be nice to have an additional shelf in the shower for my own products.

Verified reviewThis hotel is beautiful and peaceful. Close enough to the centre of Ubud for easy access but still quiet and out of the way of the hustle and bustle. The breakfast was delicious and lovely to have on the balcony each morning. We really appreciated the daily cleaning of the room and small details like having a large tank of drinking water in the bedroom free of charge. Overall the value for money is great. The staff were amazing, Widiana was our main contact and he was great and so helpful throughout our stay. Would highly recommend!

It’s right on a main road so it is quite busy as you get in and leave.

Verified reviewWe had a beautiful view from the balcony. The bed was super comfortable. The service from the entire team was super friendly and always helpful. They even arranged our bed with flowers with a cute birthday message for my partner. Beautiful pool and garden.
Only small negative comment is the shower and toilet needs updating/cleaning up the corner stains. The sink is also very small.

Verified reviewProperty was in a perfect location in Ubud, close enough to the main roads and easy to travel around. The water cooler in the room was also great to have to fill up our bottles before and after a long day. The aircon definitely kept us cool at night which I was very grateful for! The view from the balcony was stunning, and we enjoyed eating our delicious breakfast every morning outside.
