Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RussiaThere was construction work on the 1st floor, and it was uncomfortable to walk and dirty. Also the boy, the receptionist, didn't speak any English. The room had a fan and no air-conditioning. Another thing is they give you a thickish blanket which they probably don't wash after each guest, so I had to use a towel to cover myself at night, which wasn't comfortable
The location is close to the King's palace and cafes. There is also a nice terrace with the pond and fish. The room is spacious with wooden furniture, and there is a beautiful temple in the yard.

FranceLack of drinking water refill. It was also super super hot in the room despite the fan on, and always warmer in the room than outside.
The homestay is super cute and very calm. The room and the bathroom are big. The bed is super comfy. The little terrace in front of the temple. The location is perfect, near the center but a bit away from the main road.

BelgiumWe stayed 12 days and the first week the internet connection was really very bad and we had to use our data. Then they fixed it, but meanwhile we booked already some other place, because we stay several months in Bali and for my remote job it's quite important to have good internet. Otherwise we maybe would stay longer in this place.
Almost near the centre, just a few minutes walking. Very close a lot of places to eat, from local warungs to more fancy places. Very clean room, nice terrace to sit down, friendly people.

IrelandThere are gaps for the mosquitos to get in.
Excellent value stay in Ubud not far from the busy main street. It was pretty quiet and the bed was comfortable. The fan was enough to cool the room.

Norway1) Even though the manager was very helpful and nice, she didn't speak English. 2) The fan wasn't enough to cool down the room, so it was not easy to sleep due to the Balinese heat. 3) Very basic room: a bed, some old furniture, and an old bathroom. 4) In advance, I knew I was not going to stay at my room, I wanted to use my money with tours and pay the entrance for all activities I planned to visit, so It was a good deal for me. 5) Bad internet
1) Near Ubud Palace, Ubud Art/Morning Marked, Ubud Water Palace, Ubud Museum, Ubud Tourism Information, Starbucks, restaurants, etc. 2) There are many homestays in Ubud, locals that build rooms with bathrooms back their houses. They are simple, just with a fan. 3) If you are planning to enjoy the facilities, well, so I think this is not the kind of place to stay. 4) I just went to my homestay to sleep and take a shower. The rest of the day, I was walking around Ubud, visiting many sightseeings.

United StatesNo AC, but that doesn’t really matter to me. There was a ceiling fan and I was very comfortable sleeping; not too hot at all (I was there in September, for reference) There were some tiny little ants in the room. Again, not the end of the world, I wasn’t too bothered but they did get into my bag of trail mix. If you bring food, just make sure it is well sealed & stashed away in your bag hanging up on the hook on the door or something
The location is excellent! Very central, walking distance to soooo much of what Ubud has to offer, with really great coffee shops (Seniman is my fave!) & restaurants just a couple minutes walk down the road. The room itself is fine, nothing to rave about but clean & had everything I needed, BUT the VIEW from my Garden View room was spectacular! This is one of those homes whose architecture looks like a temple & also had a lot of beautiful lush greenery. There was a little table & two chairs outside each room to enjoy the view from.

New ZealandThe bathroom is set up quite strangely, especially the toilet. The room's door cannot be locked from inside (misaligned door lock). Wi-Fi was a bit slow.
Room was clean and staff was friendly. Their laundry charge was very reasonable. They also have motorbike rental, though we already booked elsewhere.

IndonesiaI wish Ubud local government will solve the issues about parking space
We stayed at the third level with a noce view of Ubud and calming koi pond. The staff and owner were helpful and amazing. This is my first time in Ubud and came with a rental car. I did not realise it is impossible to find a car park for a few days and the owner kindly offered me his garage to park my car for 3 days. The location is in walking distance to Ubud art market, Ubud Palace, and to various cafes, bars, & restaurants.
