The first night we did not get the room we booked. The alternative they gave us was substandard. Honestly, I think room no. 4 is to be avoided (the one with Disneyfigures above the bed). No real daylight and rundown bathroom. Aircon not working as it should. Room no. 3 however, the one we booked, is absolutely lovely with a private terrace near the pool. And that made up for the first night.

We had a late arrival, past ten pm and had not yet had dinner. When we asked the lone staff where we could go find food that late, everything looking seemingly closed for the night, he said “here”! And went on to prepare a delicious multiple course dinner at that late an hour of the night. Unbelievable! The rest of the staff was equally attentive and helpful with finding drivers, etc for the day’s activities. Highly recommend this hotel if you like nice cosy home feel atmosphere.

Sammy and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We were greeted with such warmth and hospitality. The location was perfect. The breakfast was amazing and we were even offered lovely homemade sweets with our coffee. Would definitely recommend this place to others.

Pools in a shaded area. No sun loungers by the pool to put your towels or belongings on if you wanted to use it. They’d have to go on the ground

Staff were exceptional. Such a lovely family who went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and make sure I was having a nice stay. They were very accommodating about opening/ locking up for when I was arriving back late or leaving early morning!

Unfortunately there is a bad smell from the drain in the bathroom. We stayed in 3 rooms and all had the same problem to varying degrees. They have tried to sort it and cover it up with cleaning products but it really needs a proper fix. It's a shame because it does take away from a nice place with nice people.

The staff were nice and friendly and tried to sort any issue we had. The location was good. Short walk from the Kraton. Breakfast was OK, especially the pancakes! The room was clean and the bed comfortable.

The noise from the staff and loud music at the bar area late after midnight made it a bit challenging to sleep.

We had a pleasant stay in this clean and well-kept hotel. The rooms were comfortable, and the service was excellent, with the staff being kind and friendly throughout our visit. The cozy pool area was a lovely place to relax, and the bar in the evening provided a great atmosphere.

Sammy's was by far a good choice for me. Owner Sammy and staff was awesome. Accommodating and helpful in getting around, especially navigating the hectic traffic... Sammy even had one of her son's escort me where I needed to go to make sure I got there. I'd highly recommend this spot. Comfortable and feeling a sense of belonging...cuz that's what we aim for.

I booked five nights at Sammy’s guesthouse and I really enjoyed it! The room was spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bar/restaurant area looks cosy and the breakfast was good. Each morning they prepared something extra for the variation. It is also possible to order meals for lunch or dinner. Very tasty! The staff made me feel so welcome and they were super helpful. I liked the location a lot, because it’s a bit outside the busy area but still some good restaurants and coffee shops on walking distance. I would definitely recommend this place!

The facilities in the rooms vary from the descriptions. Not every room has a desk, a terrace, a proper bathroom or a wardrobe. None has hot water for tea, you have to go outside to the corridor. Ok if you are dressed. However, it was advertised as available in the room when I booked. As the other facilities I listed. Perfumed jasmine tea for breakfast... Bring regular tea if important. A bit pricey for its location and facilities.

Friendly staff. I was picked up at the station on arrival. Peaceful yard/garden. Breakfast food was really good. I could choose from the available rooms which was good since they were quite different.

Ok, this is a reasonably budget place so you shouldn't expect the Ritz however there is room for improvement. The bathroom was very old & the shower nozzle wasn't attached to the wall making showering difficult. The air-conditioning was only just adequate if we ran it all day & night. Breakfast was great & ample food (especially the fresh fruit) but the cooked portion (pancakes & omelette) we're prepared in advance & set out on the table (with plastic wrap). Really just a small thing & they are trying hard to please but didn't really work for us. There was also posts in the room right next to bed that I kept bumping into.

The pool was great, nice comfy bed. The staff & new bar area were great! Also, the location (in a quiet street) close to attractions, cafes & restaurants. Overall a great place with lovely owners!

Our room seemed dingy and very dark, as there was only one window leading to the balcony's stairwell. The promised balcony was only accessible via an external staircase and surrounded by bars. The worst part, however, was that the room smelled strongly of bleach. Furthermore, the room wasn't particularly clean; there were several cobwebs and numerous insect cocoons in the bathroom. The staff spends the entire day at the bar, blocking most of the few tables available for guests. The Wi-Fi was slow.

The garden was nice. Breakfast was good although food was cold most of the time (also eggs or pancakes).

There was very audible loud music and noise every night (except our last night) until late at night. Sleeping with earplugs was a must. Our host was noticably drinking (and drunk) at 08:00 AM. The showerhandles were chalked in place, making it rather difficult to operate. The blanket on the bed was sheetless and stained. Om request we received a new blanket (with elastic band) which also contained some washed stains. Our room initially wasn't cleaned when we hung the 'please service my room' sign on the door and were out for the whole day. The next day we were woken at 06:20 AM by the cleaners with the request to clean our room at that time. The airconditioner in the room was aimed right at the bed, creating a dry air current. The room was advertised with a terrace, but it was used for construction purposes.

This was our first stop after arriving in Indonesia, and we received a very warm welcome from everyone. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bar area is a great spot to relax with a cold beer after a day of exploring, and a dip in the pool was much appreciated! The staff were very helpful, and the location is convenient for exploring the city. It's also not far from the station—about a 15-minute Grab ride away.

We reserved three rooms for two night, but we were disappointed to find that two of them did not match our booking. A king room was downgraded to a queen, and a queen room was downgraded to a standard room. Furthermore, the rooms had an unpleasant odor and were not clean.

The staff is friendly and helpful; the location is strategically advantageous, being near the city center.
