Wow - amazing property in a beautiful location! "Dreamy" is the best way I can describe Samanvaya. It was a fabulous stay during our honeymoon. The property is super characterful and tasteful, down to the smallest of details. Our Alila Villa was perfection - gorgeous workmanship and one of the coolest places I've ever stayed (I'm a sucker for a beautiful bathroom, and this certainly fit the bill!). The views, staff, food, pools, facilities and location all earn a 10/10 from us!

Out of all the places we stayed in Bali, this was our absolute favorite. Nestled right in the middle of stunning rice fields, the hotel offers a peaceful and authentic atmosphere that immediately made us feel at home. The pool is beautiful and perfect for a refreshing dip while enjoying the serene landscape. We especially appreciated the large mosquito net around the bed, which the staff prepared for us every evening – such a thoughtful detail! The restaurant was also excellent, serving delicious food with warm and attentive service. Every meal was a pleasure. A special thanks goes to Purna, who truly made our stay unforgettable. He was so kind, friendly, and attentive – we really enjoyed getting to know him and appreciated his genuine hospitality. Travel Tip: We brought some Swiss chocolate with us, and it was a big hit! The staff were genuinely happy and excited to receive it. If you’re visiting from Switzerland, don’t forget to pack a few Schoggi – they’re very much appreciated! :-) This hotel is a hidden gem, and we can’t recommend it highly enough. We would come back in a heartbeat!

Wonderful stay, luxury experience in a hotel that gives back to the local community. Everything is organized to profit local business and support Sidemen as a whole (the gift shop gives back part of the money, there are activities that promote the area, you can donate..). Pools would benefit from a bit more shade. Many of the sun beds were without shade for much of the time.

Samanvaya is in Sideman, which is a slice of ‘old Bali’ perfect for experiencing what Bali was probably like at its best…..away from the ridiculous traffic and crowds now prevalent in the more popular overtouristed destinations. Staff were discreet and extremely helpful, with nothing too much trouble. Food and beverages were all top quality, and the location was stunning. Amazing infinity pools, with incredible views.

We had the most amazing time at Samanvaya Resort. The people are incredibly kind, and you truly feel like royalty. The rooms and the views are stunning, and the food is absolutely delicious. You don’t even need to leave the hotel to have a fantastic time, although Sidemen itself is definitely worth exploring too. We’ll definitely be coming back!

This hotel resort is simply fantastic. It is nestled in the most beautiful area with many things to do nearby, but not very touristy. It feels like a perfect, well kept secret. The facilities are very nice, the restaurant has amazing food, and the service is top notch. The food and included breakfast were so great we never actually ate anywhere else in the area except our cooking class. We also did a romantic dinner package and we were given a private area with an amazing view and the most beautiful flower arrangement with candles. It was very special and we will never forget it. The front desk was able to help us do a last minute tour, take out bicycles, transfers to tours, and arrange airport transfer for us all on short notice. Our spa experience was also amazing - we did romance in the valley. The staff are extremely friendly and so helpful. I hope to return one day!

There’s nothing to dislike!

Absolutely incredible! The rooms, the views, the service, the food, the drinks, the pools, we can’t rate this property highly enough, just book & go!!! We felt like royalty, one of the most amazing places to stay & one of the most beautiful areas to explore. Sidemen is by far our favourite area in all of Bali, picture book scenery that is lush & green, it’s quiet & tranquil. Wish we had stayed longer, you could base yourself here & easily explore so much of Bali.

Lovely property, great views, amazing bamboo huts, and great food. It's a calm and serene place around 1 hour from Ubud. The restaurant closes by 9:30, so factor that in, otherwise great hospitality.
