Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

You can’t beat the character and charm of this accommodation, it’s the little details that make it so special. Fully equipped with all the amenities, nothing was overlooked. If you're after an authentic, beachside getaway, this is the place. Surrounded by lush greenery and just a short walk to one of the most stunning beaches, it truly feels like a hidden escape. A solo female traveler, I felt completely safe exploring all that Lombok had to offer. A surfer’s paradise and a nature lover’s dream! Enjoyed the pool. Beds were super comfy and enjoyed meeting fellow travellers. Wayne and his team were incredibly welcoming — nothing was ever too much trouble.

What a lovely, quirky place to stay. Loved the character of traditional houses, the smell of the old wood is just fabulous. Location is perfect, in the centre of everything in Selong Belanak but quiet and private. Free use of bicycles a bonus. The pool a little oasis we enjoyed a dip in everyday. Coffee maker in the room such a bonus. Wayne an exceptional host, lovely man who generous with time. Nothing is a problem.

New ZealandThe only thing I didn't like was that I could only stay for 2 nights 😪
The little original Javanese houses. All the wonderful facilities (e.g always hot water in the bathroom, the coffee machine the verandah with chairs), the little touches (e.g the desk, the not overpriced mini bar, the books), good humoured Wayne very comfortable bed, good lighting. Basically, I loved it all 💖

MalaysiaI didn't have enough mosquito nets on the windows to sleep with the windows open and natural ventilation in the bathroom. If the doors are closed while we are not at home, the room should be naturally ventilated. Especially since it is wooden. This is a hole in the ceiling and a net. It's simple. But it should be
10 minutes walk to the sea, 5 minutes by bike.

The place is absolutely amazing! We were arrive late and there is no problem in the checking process. Wayne is the guy! He gave us a lot of recommendations on where to eat, go and see and we did some of his recommendations and all of them are great and the details are just really good. Wayne and his staff really took a good care of us, facilities are on point. Got to use the free bikes provided to go around, nice pool, cold ac and many things. We will def stay here again when we are coming back to Selong Belanak. Thank you Wayne and team!

GermanyThe accommodation is one of the best of our 2 month Indonesia trip. The host Wayne and the staff are helpful, friendly and always ready for a pleasant conversation. We felt at home from the second we arrived. The accommodation offers a cute bungalow in which nothing is missing. The coffee machine is a big plus and very rare in Asia ;) . The bed is large and cozy, the furnishings inviting and modern. Wayne has an eye for detail, there are lots of little things to discover and the plans he has for his property sound fantastic. Free bikes, a small pool, easy scooter rental, a gym, the beach is only a few minutes away by bike, there is a good selection of restaurants. For surfing there are several very good spots for beginners but also for intermediate surfers nearby. The accommodation is still an insider tip, as is the whole village. I think it won't be long before you have to book the accommodation well in advance - so the best time to go there is now! 🏝️🌊🌞🧉🌺🐚🍹 Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and best regards, Nick and Viola

United StatesI can not say a single negative word about this place.
This property is amazing! The owner, Wayne, bought seven or more Central Javanese Traditional houses disassembled them, transported them to Lombok and reassembled them into the cutest little traditional village of individual bungalows imaginable! There is a nice little pool and the gardens are immaculate! He has filled the bungalows with fine art and antiques and his tastes are impeccable. This is a unique and restful place to stay!

NetherlandsMy bungalow didn't have the most comfortable seat, but fixed it by taking one of the Thai cushions from one of the barugas. So all good in the end. The swing at the porch is a very cute touch.
Great welcome with a large fruit plate to use whenever you like during your stay (not yet cut open). Beautiful traditional bungalows with an eye for detail, comfort and service. Lush garden and a convenient little pool. In walking distance from Selong Belanak beach.

AustraliaLoved it ALL!!
What a fabulous place to stay, boutique accommodation with such character!! Think I was one of the lucky first! Amazing Antique Teak Houses resettled from Java, all individually styled & decorated, the Interiors are just incredible! Everything has been so well thought out and executed. The artwork I understand is the owner's, his taste is eclectic and so works. He is on site each day to welcome and assist in every way. Room included all the amenities needed; The Comfiest Bed, Crisp Cotton Sheets, Icy A/C, Lounge, Fridge with Mini Bar (stocked w Local Treats + Mini Bottles), Table + Chairs on Balcony for my morning Coffee or evening Aperitivo & all rooms have a Nespresso Machine!!! The Pool is super cool; circular and in the centre of property- making for a great place to hang out and meet other guests. Just love the Stripey Sun Lounges and Crochet Sun Umbrellas!! Across the road – Selong Belanak is the most amazingly clean, uncrowded beach; ideal for Swimming, Sunbaking, Learning to Surf and not to mention Laut Baru Beach Club – Sunset 'Ginger Martinis' at Happy Hour... Such a refreshing & welcomed change from the madness, traffic and busyness that has become BALI!! There are also a load of local little Warungs up the beach and other great Restos in the little town of Selong Belanak.. Have tried most and loved them all... Almost forgot to mention the SURF BREAKS - just a few mins away!! SERANGAN + MAWI + MAWUN!!! Am so TOTALLY coming back with a group of friends or even for a big family holiday!! Can’t wait & Cannot believe I hadn’t discovered LOMBOK sooner!!! SALTY SIESTA is ideally located in SELONG BELANAK, South Lombok - Only a 20min flight from Bali and airport is a quick 30min drive away ‘sans’ Bali traffic... Thanks again Wayne and please give Monte a pat from me. Cheers, E
