Beach front access a few steps from our villa. Great spot for watching the sunset. Staff friendly and helpful. Handy having water cooler to refill your water. Air con and wifi worked well. The shower is effective. Standard breakfast. Could cycle easily around from the villa and hire bikes there where other accomodation the sand was to thick to cycle from.

Very standard room in a less than average state of repair. Semi open shower room was fine if you don’t mind not being enclosed. No under cover on mattress just two sheets, an extra pillow or cushion would be helpful.

Nice position, helpful and kind staff, spacious room. Can rent bikes, motorbikes and organize snorkeling tours.

No hot water in bungalows (in summer it's not a problem anyway). Some mosquitoes around the structure.

Very nicely located, the hotel is situated in the north of the island where the sunset is!! Our stay felt very relaxing and nice. The breakfast on the beach every morning was idyllic and the staff was also amazing!

Absolutely outstanding staff!!! Thank you to you all for my home for 7 days in Gili Air 👍 Room was comfortable. Cool outside shower and fantastic location for a quiet relaxing stay. Best spot for sunsets. Great restaurants near by. 20min walk to busy side of island. Ladies who cook are lovely and arranged my laundry to get done at great price. Super friendly people everywhere. Great gin cocktail next door at Hakuna Matata!

Bed- a extra blanket would of been nice, only sheet provided. Only 1 room clean in 7 days - fine for me. Barista coffee would have been nice for breakfast. Sands near by with great coffee. So no problem. I go to bed early and it was a little bit loud with live music untill about 10pm. Ear plugs worked!

The bungalows are simple but have everything you need for a very comfortable stay. I actually extended my stay for an additional 3 nights as I loved the location, the staff and the accommodation, it was right on the beach and perfect to enjoy the sunsets, which are right on your front door. The staff, particularly Dia made me feel so welcomed and they always said ‘welcome home’ when I got back at the end of the day which was such a lovely touch. They couldn’t have done any more for me if they had tried. I would recommend anyone visiting the island to stay in this accommodation, for an authentic Balinese stay with kind and caring staff.

Nothing, my own preference would to be to have a duvet or blanket as well as a sheet on the bed.

The restaurant is on the beach so beautiful for sunset and breakfast. Breakfast was limited but nice.

The bathroom is in need of a lot of maintenance, lots of cracks and missing tiles. The staff were friendly enough but very poor English so it was hard to communicate.

The place and whole island is so breathtaking, like a paradise. Our first time in Gili, but not least. And about the Matahari Bungalow: All the guys were so helpful, kind and polite. We were warmly welcomed and the place felt like home. Bungalow was nice, clean, airconditioner worked well. Nothing to complain! Location nearby the sea was best ever. It was awesome to enjoy breakfast on the beach, toes in to sand. And the sunset, oh my, speechless. We are in loved! Thank you very much, and see you next year!

Excellent location, super friendly staff

Staff were overly co sortable bed.

No drainage outside so whilst tropical cyclone could not be helped the rain . Did not drain from outside the bungalow resulting in a whole load of mozzies hanging around d the standing water. Food was very limited snd basic. Location was nice and quiet but a long way from anything. Staff were so lively though . No back up generator for V power in the storm.

The young guys who work there were amazing, friendly and helpful. They welcome us with delicious juice and during all our stay, the service was great. Breakfast options were great with a lot to choose from (which normally doesn't happen in Bali), and portions were big. The room was spacious, AC in working conditions, and mosquito net in the room. The best part is breakast and dinner right on the beach!!!

We loved our 14 night stay at Saeri Matahari. It was very relaxing to have our breakfast of fresh juice, fruit, omelette (or pancake or jaffle) and coffee sitting in the little cabana right on the beautiful north beach. Our room was comfortable and clean with an enormous bed and mosquito net. The bathroom is partly open air with a large shower area in a sunken part of the bathroom so that you don’t get all of the floor, toilet and wash basin wet. Hot water in the shower, which isn’t a given here. The best thing about our stay were the ever smiling Dayan, Ozan and Dan who manage the property and were extremely lovely to us. The north coast of Gili Air gives the best view for spectacular sunsets and we enjoyed lovely local food in our little cabana watching the sun go down (western food options are available). The barbecued fish is fantastic. We were sad to leave and the three guys waved us off when we left. We will definitely return.

I would have liked a clothes hanging rail or some hooks to hang my clothes on and a mirror in a brighter part of the bedroom.
