Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Francewe booked here for the accomodation and the Rinjani treck as well (in the end due to last minutes changes this was a 2 day 1 night treck) We had 2 rooms for 2 person and location is very well placed and near to a very good restaurant. Agung and his wife were very nice and friendly discussing about their lives here, experiences, plans for the futur etc .. Then related the treck it was a FANTASTIC experience, we went with our 2 kids and while this is quite an aventure, they really enjoyed the journey. our guides were really friendly and the accomodations during the treck were really of good quality (i expected less to be honest). so i would recommend at 100% with the option for Rinjani treck of course : )

An amazing experience at Rumah Kawan Homestay! The family made me feel extremely welcome - which is especially important for a solo female traveler. They helped me organise Mount Rinjani and transport from the ferry terminals which was helpful! Rooms and facilities were clean, spacious and Tina made a delicious breakfast in the morning with homemade bread🥖! I would recommend staying here, this was one of my highlights of the trip ☺️!

GermanyWe had a wonderful stay! The rooms and the bathroom were very clean and well maintained. We especially enjoyed the breakfast – freshly cooked every day with ingredients from their own garden, simply delicious! What truly made our stay unforgettable was the warm hospitality of Agung, Tina, and their three wonderful children. They created such a welcoming family atmosphere, were always friendly, helpful, and made us feel completely at home. They also helped us organize our Mount Rinjani trek – we could book it directly through the homestay, and they even provided us with valuable tips that made the tour much easier. Another plus is that the homestay is within walking distance to the waterfalls, which made exploring the area even more special. A homestay we highly recommend!

AustraliaThe property is a little bit further away from the main strip and waterfall entrances than some others. Not far at all, but if walking alone in the dark it can be a little unnerving, even though completely safe. Some of the locals drive their motorbikes without headlights and there are street dogs. You can hire a scooter or even ask a local to drive you for a small price.
Agung, Tina and their adorable family were incredibly warm and friendly hosts. They’ve made an effort to be as sustainable as possible; serving home grown produce from their property in the breakfast. They have chickens, crops and even an hydroponic setup! They also arranged my hike up Mt Rinjani and lent me some equipment as I was not adequately prepared.

FranceI literally had the best time at Tina and Agung’s place. Such a lovely family, where I felt like home. The room was very comfortable and clean and they gave me advices to visit the waterfall nearby. Above all, they helped me arrange everything to hike Rinjani. My 2D/1N hike to the summit was simply perfect. I felt safe, had a great guide, and perfect equipment to make this hike a lifelong memory! Can only recommend this place!

AustraliaNot staying longer!
What a fantastic place. I have travelled Bali since 1978, this being my first trip to Lombok, and this is by far the best yet. Rooms are a good size, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds and abundant hot water to shower. It is close to Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep waterfalls as well as being the gateway to trekking Mt Rinjani. The breakfast is yum. And, added bonus, a warung directly across the road with tasty options, large portions, cheaply priced, for lunch or dinner. However, what really makes this place is the hosts. Agung, Tina and their three gorgeous kids, Jed, Abi and Matteo. Agung and Tina are fonts of knowledge on where to go, what to see and if you want to trek Mt Rinjani book with Agung for the best price going and an awesome adventure. Rumah Kawan House of Friend is perfectly named as it has a calm, relaxed feel to it and you are welcomed as friends, if not family. Thank you, see you all soon.
