Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandI almost don’t want to do this review because I don’t want this place to become popular! We had a lovely stay at Rumah Ganesha. It’s wonderfully old school Bali. Comfortable rooms, large grounds with beautiful gardens. A sense of elegance, great artwork. Walking distance to everything you need.

AustraliaI was initially placed in a room that was generally a lesser quality than the photos and description led me to expect considering the price, however I was able to change to another room that was an appropriate quality and was very happy there.
Beautiful grounds, garden and buildings Quiet and peaceful atmosphere while being positioned centrally. Very warm, welcoming and hospitable staff.

AustraliaWhilst it didn’t negatively impact my stay, I could hear the traffic noise from my room, which was in the building at the front of the property. It would have been ideal if there was no traffic noise. I expect that the rooms towards the back of the property are quieter.
My room was clean, light and airy, the grounds are lovely, the staff were delightful and the property is conveniently located.

ThailandDespite the natural aspect, stepping out of this sanctuary takes you to the very busy, often traffic jammed Jl Penestaan. However, a 2 minute walk gives access to more than a dozen coffee shops and eateries.
The garden setting is filled with beautiful flowers, shrubs, and pathways. The 2 storey buildings contain 4 cosy yet roomy apartments. Loved the bathroom. There is plenty of space and a feeling of being on the edge of the jungle. The pool was set amongst enormous trees, and the constant sound of water flowing in the nearby stream was relaxing. The staff there were helpful and knowledgeable, having worked there for decades.

CanadaThis part of Ubud has only one two direction road but it is one lane. No sidewalk for pedestrians. It is about a 20 minute walk to the Royal Palace which is the center of Ubud. We love to walk a lot when we are on vacation, but this was not pleasant walking. The property is wonderful and I highly recommend it. I prefer the unpleasant long walk to staying closer because central Ubud is a noisy, busy, stressful place. You have to leave IDR500,000 in cash as a security deposit at checkin. Glass, refillable water bottles are provided. I accidentally broke one and was charged IDR100,000. Felt a little off. If you provide glass bottles or glassware, they can break. That is the cost of doing business. Perhaps steel bottles would be better.
Gorgeous property. Gardens offering shade, privacy and beauty. Lovely pavilions with 4 rooms each. We are a family of 4: 2 in a room up the stairs 2 below. Central outdoor livingroom for all rooms and a seating area outside the downstairs rooms. Breakfast served in gazebo. Good sized refreshing pool set away from rooms. Jiwa is a great host. Very friendly, good English, helpful. He went to get us tickets to the Balinese dance show. There is a clean water dispenser provided where we can refill our bottles. There are glass bottles provided in the rooms. I accidentally broke one just before bedtime. Jiwa came right away to clean up the broken glass. Maybe steel bottles would be safer and would keep the water colder.

RomaniaIf you’re looking for a place just steps away from Alchemy or the House of Om, this location is perfect. It truly feels like a hidden paradise—peaceful, comfortable, and well-equipped. The rooms are spacious, and I especially appreciated the mosquito nets on the windows, which made for a more comfortable stay. The staff is very friendly, and check-in was flexible, which added to the overall great experience. I can only recommend this place!

AustraliaThe only minor thing I noticed is the pool was a little old and not as clean as others I’ve used. Only 2 recliners available but there was no one using the pool when I was there anyway.
Beautiful property in lush, stunning gardens, back from the road but great access to local cafes and alchemy yoga studio. The staff are wonderful and make you feel right at home, the room is slightly smaller but that didn’t bother me as having the window seat and outdoor lounge was wonderful, great pressure shower, and the only place I have found window screens so I could sleep with fresh air in the room - I had the best sleeps. Private from other rooms which I appreciated, no sounds issues with other guests.

AustraliaI've been living in the tropics so I'm used to having a ceiling fan in the room - there was aircon so it wasn't really even a problem at all.
Rumah Ganesha is a beautiful oasis away from the main strip of Ubud but still within easy walking distance. There are villas with a generous amount of garden compared to others we saw, and a swimming pool that is cool and shady. Jiwa and staff were super helpful and accommodating. Bug repellant and water were always available. There are really great restaurants right outside, so you don't need to go far! GBS for international style tea, coffee and pastries, Alchemy 11:11 for the best Bali coffee and great breakfasts, Bubu Warung for delish meals, and Prima Vegetarian for the best Nasi Campur ever! Great to explore the small streets nearby and get up to Yellow Flower Cafe to enjoy the view.
