A special thank you to the manager, Gusti. He let us use his excellent scooter, and when I mentioned I couldn’t drive around Indonesia without navigation, he even bought a phone holder for me! I stayed at River Song Bali for one week, and let me say this: I have never written a review for any place in my life, but not writing one here would feel disrespectful. The view is absolutely breathtaking, the breakfast is delicious with plenty of options, and the pool is wonderful. But the most magical part is the atmosphere – it’s INCREDIBLY QUIET. The only sound you hear is the river flowing gently. No noise, no distractions, just peace. Gus and Made were amazing – they treated me like family, always checking if I needed anything, cleaning my room every day, and making sure I felt comfortable. They even helped me with guidance about tours, since the area can be a bit expensive. Their support made everything so much easier. If you’re reading this, you might think I’m exaggerating, but trust me: don’t waste time searching for another place. This is THE place to stay. The location is perfect, close to the center but still hidden in nature. I would come back to Bali just to stay here again. The Wi-Fi is fast, the property is spotless, and even though I’m scared of animals like lizards, I hardly saw any. River Song Bali is simply MAGICAL.

Ok, so as mentioned, the staff and view are the big positives here. Sadly there are many negatives. I’ll try to be as honest and constructive as I can be. The upkeep of the premises is not great at all, over grown vegetation everywhere. (And yes I know it’s jungle but we just did 2 weeks in remote Java and much simpler accommodation was far better taken care of). An open air tub on the veranda is unusable as it’s so dirty. Be prepared for major mozzie bites. We booked 7 rooms, the double room was advertised as being 40sqm, it was 12 at most. There are NO facilities, I mean NO facilities on site, nowhere to buy a coffee or a coke or beer. Nothing. This is more Airbnb it’s not a resort in any capacity. There was no electricity when we arrived. Finally, the worst part. The owner who is an American man arrived as we were checking out and started saying nasty comments about previous guests and how they didn’t tip enough. He then told us we needed to tip his staff as much money as possible because “that’s how they make their money”. Well how about you PAY them a decent salary that they fully deserve! We paid a LOT of money to stay at this place, and to hear that the wonderful staff don’t really get a good pay from that made all of our group pretty annoyed.

The view is as seen in the photos, really stunning. The on site staff are really kind, helpful, and go out of their way to help you. The rooms are big and clean.

I can't thing about anything, we truly enjoyed it so much!

Staying at River Song Sayan was nothing short of magical. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I had stepped into a secret garden tucked away in the heart of Bali. The house is surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant flowers, and waking up to the sounds of the river and birdsong was a daily gift for the soul. Lucas, the host, made the experience feel so personal and warm. He wasn’t just a host, he was a storyteller, a guide, and a genuinely kind soul who poured love into every corner of this space. His energy infused the place with comfort, charm, and a deep sense of peace. Every corner of the home had its own character, from the cozy rooms to the little nooks perfect for reading or meditating. It felt like the kind of place where time slows down, and you can finally breathe deeply again. This wasn’t just accommodation, it was a healing space, a little sanctuary that I’ll carry in my heart long after I’ve left. I’m so grateful for the time I spent here, and I can’t wait to return. Thank you, Lucas, for creating something so special. You’ve truly made River Song a home away from home.
