Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndonesiaTea and coffee making facility would of been good, a ceiling or stand fan to circulate the air when the aircon is not needed would be good,
I left early before the breakfast started unfortunately

TurkeyThe room was a bit humid and the TV wasn’t working
It’s just a 5-minute walk to the market and 15 minutes to the Monkey Forest. The location is also very convenient if you plan to visit other popular temples., They provided an iron when we asked and were always kind and helpful. I would definitely stay here again when I return to Ubud. Highly recommended!

United KingdomThe hot water was temperamental but not awful. And the WiFi was not very good. Could be perfect with a pool. But nothing to fault really.
Was very clean and so pretty, staff were so lovely and provide everything you could need! U can use the communal fridge. Air con and a fan with a plug socket outside.

IndonesiaThis is a very typical Ubud stay. It is nestled in away from the main road, so it’s a little tricky to find but very quiet when you arrive. The Balinese architecture along the path to get there is lovely. The room was large and comfortable.

GermanyUnfortunately, there were a lot of construction works during my stays and I wasn‘t feeling comfortable spendind my time on the terrace with all the noise. When I first arrived it was in the night and I had told them before, to ensure they would be ready to check me in after midnight. The contact no they gave me didn‘t respond at all and me and my driver tried to find (first the location) and then someone or any hints for self check in. Communication for these situations should improve!
It‘s a really nice property and tucked away from the main roads! Room was clean and spaceous and the bed very comfortable.

United KingdomThe noise - construction going on at next door property, starting at 6.30am some mornings. Can’t be helped by the owners but just something to be wary of. The door to the room is sliding glass doors which have a gap either side, allowing insects to come in. We didn’t see to many during our stay thankfully. Hard to find - location on maps is wrong. There are two entrances to the property and then you kind of weave between various other guest houses and homes until you find Ratna at the very end. Needs more signage.
Great location in Ubud. Extremely comfortable rooms and very spacious. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

United KingdomThe shower is almost luke warm at best but it kinda worked because of the weather so not a huge deal breaker for me but for some it might be. No cutlery or plates or cups.
Location is great! Walking distance to almost everything in Ubud (I didn't use any transport at all). Excellent value for money. Quiet enough, clean, good standard.

South AfricaDifficult to find, the address on maps caused me to be dropped off at a different location and I had to ask a few people and walk to where this guest house was. Needs more signs and lights from the street entrance to the guest house , especially when dark. A bit more communication from Ayu would have been great, during my stay.

United KingdomNot hot water in the tap and shower Screaming and talk of the kids (not guests), one night they were chatting until 2;30am when I kindly asked then to stop. You can literally hear everything from the garden area. One side is for guests and other one is occupied by host's family. Also there is some quiet reconstruction work in a progress and workers are walking and passing the garden and porch area.
I liked the apartment, space and sitting on the porch I liked to be in the centre of Ubud but surrounded by green leaves and out of the traffic noise. I liked there was always bottled water and beer in the fridge available (little fee)in the garden porch area

United KingdomThe only downside that might put people off is there is no hot water, kettle or fridge. Be aware it is wrong location on Google maps. It is opposite taksu galleria with lots of other accommodations around it. Ratna guest house will be the very last one.
Can't complain with how little this place cost and had everything you need for a basic stay. - Very central location in the heart of ubud just round the corner from all shops, restaurants and the monkey forest. Opposite a motorbike rental shop too. - working WiFi and ac. Massive room with comfy bed and balcony area. - Off the main street so you can escape in the peace and quiet. All in all would recommend for those on a budget.

PolandIt is not that easy to find it with Google Maps. There was no warm water. Doors are slid shut, and have holes at both sides – twice we had to remove lizards from the room. There was also a miscommunication among staff, and some old lady was yelling at us, because she was not informed that we paid at the entry.
Localization was good, the room was clean, and the price was reasonable. We ordered a room one hour before receiving and it went smoothly. The place is quiet and close to nice restaurants.

AustraliaOn line directions are very confusing but I guess it depends in where you alight. The usual bus from Kuta stops at the museum- You then need to turn left, cross the road at some point & walk up the busy street for about 500 metres & then turn right. More as a balance than a "not like" but the air conditioning struggled in the hot & humid conditions- I think mainly because of where it was located in the room & perhaps it is a little small. I think the room amenity could have been greatly improved by having mugs & a kettle -although I did notice another room had obviously requested one at some point, so perhaps one just needs to ask. . A great deal of patience is required if you only speak English, (strine) or it is your second language-as is the case with many of the accommodation & service options here. I could never get the TV to work but didn't ask- not really a biggie as I had my laptop . Keep in mind this is a very cheap room for this standard..Loved it.
Ratna Guest House is at the rear of a large compound in which there are several other guest houses & private rooms. I greatly appreciated the location, as Ubud now, (unfortunately) has traffic which is chaotic . The rooms are clean, quiet & supremely comfortable .Quite easy to find & easy walk to the madness of Jalan Raya Ubud (main street)-although best to stay away from there as much as possible I appreciated the availability of breakfast (additional cost). Bed comfort was outstanding. Staff were always pleasant and attentive.I didn't need my room cleaned every day, but when it was done, I was super impressed that the bathroom and toilet were scrubbed (by hand) & cleaning took well over 30 minutes. I would happily return & as long as you are not too picky, it is perfect.
