This place is a home from home. Lovely jungle location away from busy Ubud, but close enough to see everything. Everything is clean and the staff are wonderful, so friendly. Less bugs than we expected. Yummy breakfast with Western options and a varied restaurant menu when you don't feel like venturing out for dinner.

Purana is a calm oasis just a little bit away from the bustle of Ubud’s centre. Everything was perfect. The breakfast was amazing and the bed was comfortable! The staff are also super friendly and very helpful. The free shuttle into the city and back is also really handy! I can’t fault Purana!

The balcony door did not close completely and as a result bugs could come in the room from there There were many mosquitoes in the room when we arrived Limited choice in the breakfast menu The pizza from the hotels restaurant was not good (probably frozen) The armchairs in the room were dirty The pool was extremely small - didn’t even use it The location was not ideal, a bit far from the center and nothing much to do around

Music in the restaurant was repetitive, same in the evening and at breakfast every day.

Pool villa was lovely and private Staff were always friendly and helpful, in particular August and Tude. They have some excellent suggestions about restaurants and are full of information about the area. Gardens were beautiful. Fruit platters were delicious

The toilet and bathtub area have a section which is slightly open to elements at the side, so when it rains the water splash can make the floor wet. Also the tiles there are slippery when wet. Suggest to close the top with glass/transparent plastic and if possible have some non-slip mats in the bath area

Spacious villa with private pool. Staff arranged for a gas stove on which we could cook simple breakfast and dishes for the kids. Staff was very warm and helpful overall. Calm and peaceful loc.

When we stayed it was raining, which made the pool area fully drenched with rain water. And in the morning the only area where you could dine was fully exposed to the sun, which made it hot to have morning breakfast in. The dining area in the villa could be improved by installing some rain shield or blinds.

The resort gives a simple and humble vibe. Lots of personal touches. The inroom massage is good. Location is short distance from ubud center, making the mornings very peaceful. You can take a peaceful stroll in the road. Good spread of traditional and continental breakfast. However the restaurant menu can have more options.

That my holiday had to end.

Our villa was absolutely stunning. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the outdoor shower was lovely and the private pool was so relaxing. There was a good outdoor undercover area with fan which provided shelter from rain when needed. There were also plenty of sunny & shady areas to lounge by the pool. The food was absolutely delicious! The location was perfect, in a quieter area of Ubud, but only a $5 Grab ride into the centre of town. The hotel also provided free shuttle bus service which we utilised. What makes this resort the best I've ever stayed at were the staff. Warm, friendly, efficient and so very accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel welcome from day one. I highly recommend staying at Purana Boutique Resort if you're planning a trip to Ubud. We will definitely be back.

Food can be improved

Great spot—close to the center but nice and quiet. Staff were super helpful. Room was very clean and cleaned daily. Pool was clean too. Would stay again!

The pool isn’t very clean, it has a lot of centipede’s roaming around and too many leaves in the water. One of the rooms did not have a very functioning sink tap. There isn’t much to do in the resort because it’s very small, it’s basically just rooms with a pool and good for shopping in Ubud because it’s located in the city centre.

The staff are exceptional as they are very welcoming. The food was great and it was presented very well too. Privacy is great too. The place is great for couples on a honeymoon. The spa was really good too.

The rooms are perfect, the villa is perfect. We stayed in both, if you stay in the villa you won't want to leave even for a tour of the surroundings. There is a wonderful team, their staff is large, every employee you meet is even more kind and helpful... The location is very good, the restaurant is very good, but if you want a change, there is a very good "Circle K" market and cafe, restaurants within walking distance. If you want to go to the center of Ubud, there is also a free shuttle service. The price/benefit index is very good. In summary, 2-3 days will seem short, plan to stay longer.
