How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe location in beautiful, it’s about 2km from the hustle and bustle of Uluwatu, but GoJek worked great for me. It’s clean, comfortable and if they could fit a washing machine/dryer and a comfy reading chair in the little yard, I think it would make it absolutely perfect for a long stay.

We always try to assist our guests as much as possible, and in your case, we offered complimentary luggage storage until 2:00 PM — which is the latest time we can accommodate this, as we need to prepare the space for incoming guests at 2:00 PM. As mentioned, this is a private home, not a hotel, and unfortunately we’re not able to hold luggage until 8:30 PM due to the logistics and privacy of the next guests. Verified reviewThis gem is tucked away just far enough from the hum of motorbikes and loud noise’s. It’s not a palace but it doesn’t pretend to be either! In a charming little nook it’s the kind of place you book for one night and wonder if maybe you should cancel tomorrow’s plans. Close enough to everything you need by bike and very cosy.
There was a bit of construction nearby and the occasional morning clatter of progress but nothing dramatic. (Not really) It’s not forever. And honestly, the peace still outshone the noise.

The water pressure in the shower was low

If we had known during your stay, we would have happily adjusted it for you — it’s actually as simple as slightly opening a valve. We currently keep the pressure at a medium setting to ensure comfort and avoid overwhelming pressure, as we naturally have a very strong water supply. We’re truly sorry to hear that your stay didn’t meet your expectations. We understand that you may have been going through a difficult time even before your arrival, which could have impacted your experience. However, we’d like to clarify a few important facts. You only stayed one night and left the property the next evening without making any formal cancellation. As a result, your booking remained active and the dates stayed blocked for the entire 9-night reservation. This meant we were unable to offer the unit to any other guests during that time. Only on the final day of your booking, you sent a refund request—after the full stay period had passed and without having released the dates. At that point, it was not possible to offer a refund, as the property had been kept unavailable for nine days. The house was in perfect condition, as it is a newly built unit, regularly maintained, and consistently rated 10 out of 10 by our guests for cleanliness, location, and comfort. We are proud to offer a high-quality space, and the satisfaction of our guests reflects that. It is unfortunate that, after not following the proper cancellation process, you are now leaving a negative review in response to the declined refund. We feel this is an unfair attempt to take advantage of the situation in bad faith, which not only affects us as hosts, but also undermines the review system that so many travelers rely on. We remain committed to offering a high standard of service, and we wish you all the best.

Verified reviewThe villa had a lovely garden, kitchen, and exceptionally clean bedroom and bathroom. It was beautifully decorated and a quiet oasis near the hustle and bustle of Uluwatu. The host Luli had an outstanding guidebook with excellent restaurants, massage places, and the best kept secret sunset spot in all of Uluwatu. She was incredibly responsive to messages and did everything to make your stay lovely. She even waited up til almost midnight to welcome me to the property. Something that wasn’t necessary, but shows what a caring host she is.

Verified reviewVery clean and comfortable, felt like our own little private oasis. My favourite part was waking up early and stepping outside to hear nothing but the frogs chirping. Kitchen and complimentary water just made life that much easier while traveling. Our host was very accommodating and welcoming! Definitely worth the stay.

Verified reviewLuli (property owner) was incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful. My girlfriend and I planned very little for our Bali trip but thankfully Luli provided us an amazing list of recommendations for literally everything we could want or need. Our trip was unforgettable and Pura Vida served as a perfect home base.
The property is a little hidden and potentially hard to find. A sign on the street would go a long way to help food delivery drivers find the front door.

A lil bit far from the centre, 7mins by scooter. Nothing wrong, but If you wanna spend some night time in Uluwatu be prepare for it.

Compared to other places in Uluwatu this was too expensive for what it offers. Without swimming pool, without breakfast and bad location. You need motorbike for absolutely everything. Construction works next to the house during the day and many noises at night.
We are sorry you have such a different view from all previous guests. We are in an excellent location just 4 minutes motorbike from beaches , center and restaurants. Of course in Bukit it is neccesary a motorbike to move from all places. But as this is your first time in Bali, we can see you didnt know that. In the night is very quiet but we are aware as you told us you have your own issues for sleeping, not because of the place as its super quiet. We hope you are able to enjoy your holidays. Verified reviewPura Vida is a great gem in Uluwuatu. Location is great, as it’s secluded and therefore very quiet, but you’re also close from everything. We were not renting bikes so we could easily walk around to nearby cafes and beach.
