It was hard to get to, as you had to drive along a long dirt road to get there. When it rained it got sooo muddy and was really hard to drive a scooter in!

The road getting to Porter is a bit gnarly especially when wet. The incline to get at the property was also very steep.

Amazing dorm in Lombok. Super clean and comfy. The location is just amazing, inside the jungle it’s so peaceful and yet only 4 mins from the center. The taff is very dedicated, professional and yet friendly. The food is great with a lot of options. Breakfast is amazing. And a special thank you to Emilia, the hotel manager who is very caring and is doing a fantastic job at the hotel ! Will come again for sure.

The location is a little far on the dirt road, but was nice to walk and see the local areas. Can be a bit tricky to navigate if you follow Apple Maps as the route is incorrect (I made that mistake), but once you know the way, you'll be sweet. Although I wish it was a bit closer to the Main Street, you wouldn't have the views and you would also probably hear the mosque for an earlier wake-up call... so it's pretty justified. You don't need to be near the main beach as it's not nice. All the surfing and nice beaches are motorbike rides away, so doesn't matter too much where you're located in Kuta.

Breakfast and food was a little on the pricey side for Indonesia but tasted good. The dorms and bathrooms were great - A/C and rarely any bugs inside which is rare for Indo. Staff kept everything clean all day long so that was awesome. Facilities are beautiful - pool, yoga, seating areas, wifi etc. Staff are so kind and sweet and really want to take care of you.

Everything. I stayed in the 6 person’s dormitory, and had my sleep ever. So comfy, clean, everyone is friendly, the pool is amazing. They will make your bed everyday and will change your towels every 2 days.

The host, Jane Porter, was always on the grounds and a very warm welcomer. Yoga classes were great with yin typically in the afternoon. Pool was perfect, though more chairs would be nice. Food was delicious. This is one of my favorite hotels.

A few minor things - the road to the hotel is very bumpy and the hotel is a little far away - not a problem once we had the scooter though. The road is out of the hotels control though but hopefully it is improved soon! The other thing was there was some mould on the ceiling in our bathroom. I think this was due to the bathrooms not having fans so the hot steam / air from the shower gets trapped in there, however they quickly cleaned it once we let the hotel know.

Everything about this hotel was amazing! It was super clean and aesthetic, quiet and secluded and the service was amazing - Kamel was incredible attentive and even gave us a lesson on riding a scooter, so we were then able to rent a scooter for the rest of the trip which made getting around a lot easier! The included breakfast was also incredible, healthy and delicious and the food and drink menu was also great and very good value.

We liked everything. The hotel vibe, the restaurant menu (breakfast and lunch/dinner), the location is amazing as you’re close to everything but you feel like in the middle of the jungle. Also the bed was super comfy. Favourite stay of our trip by far.

We absolutely loved our stay here! We extended 3 times. The garden and the pool are phenomenal. We actually preferred the cheaper rooms upstairs as they offer more privacy. We will totally book Porter Hotel again for our next stay. Downsides: We would have loved some Indonesian breakfast options (they only offer western breakfast). There are not enough sunbeds for all the guests and some guests just leave their towels there as a "reservation" for the whole day. Also note that the street leading to the hotel is super shitty especially during rainy season.

Location. It was up hill and a little far from town which made it difficult to move around without a scooter. However, they provide a free shuttle twice a day.

Clean, beautiful, good quality foods and drinks, nice infinity pool, soundproof rooms with privacy curtains and shade for each bed, free drinking water.
