How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewThe place is the Best in Bali. And Yayak and the staff took really care of us. Specially with some health care issue in Mont Batur. I will be allways be greatfull to them. Very local life, the place show the view on caldera, volcanos, fruits trees as oranges and avocado. Even long steps to go down and up, it's fantastic to stay there and two nights are really good to enjoy. Go there with no regrets, just hapiness.

Reaching your room is going to be 10-15min uphill walk depending on your capacity. The bad part for me is the sound of vehicles passing through all night. Must carry noise cancelling ear pieces. No peaceful sleep otherwise

Verified reviewBreathtaking views! A very unique experience that I treated like a glamping experience. I recommend grippy shoes for the path to the cabin (see photo). The staff kindly carried our suitcases up and down.

Verified reviewThe view was amazing! We watched sunrise from the bed. Place is calm, there is no people around. Personal was very helpful and honest. Breakfast was like at home, made with love.
It's a bit hard to get to and out of place. The hill is quite steep and there's a lot of steps. If it's windy there is not always a hot water.

Verified reviewThe view was absolutely amazing fabulous location but not for people who have mobility issues! My husband is super fit and even he struggled with the walk down and up. It’s very steep sections going down and lots of steps. Lucky we were on a bike so only small amount of luggage.
Just the fact it was a hike to get anywhere once you were at accommodation, no a/c which we didn’t need at the time we were there, no tv which isn’t a deal breaker either but if weather was bad could be.

Verified reviewPros: +incredibly beautiful view + clean +they treat you to ginger tea with waffles + they help you carry heavy luggage downstairs and upstairs + you can keep in touch via WhatsApp +nice warm water in the shower +there is a dental kit, soap and shampoo + breakfast was served on time (even though we asked for it early at 7.00)
Minuses: - it takes a very long time to go down and up, the reviews say about three minutes, but it's not like that! We went down for 15 minutes, and went up for 20-25 minutes with breaks for a break. It's very! Lots of stairs -"The flies! The flies! The flies! It is impossible to sit on the street! A million flies. That's why you stay in the cabin all the time. Which is stuffy during the day and cold in the evening -there is no reception or entrance group - you get to the village, you are met by a girl near the garage, in ordinary clothes without identification marks, they tell you to leave the suitcase, and you don't even know if the hotel staff is there or not) it was scary for the suitcase, but it was eventually delivered safely, for which thank you Thank you - it's very cold after sunset and before dawn! About 10-15 degrees. Definitely this house needs a stove! -not like in the photo (they have several houses, and I got the wrong one in the photo, and the bathroom is different, and there's a fence by the tub, and there's another house in front of the house, so keep in mind that it won't be just like in the photo) -we indicated that we're on our honeymoon, usually hotels they decorate the rooms for arrival, there was no reaction, this fact was ignored -if you went downstairs, you probably won't want to go back up, so take everything you need right away (food, water, etc.) there is nothing near the house -breakfast also looks different from the photo in the account (I'm attaching) -the water is not very hot, we took a bath and the hot water ran out - it was impossible to refill it, the bath cooled down in 10 minutes, because initially the water was not very hot, but let's say warm) -there are no hints in the room (how to fill the bathtub, how to contact the staff, how to order anything, how to connect wi-Fi, no!

Verified review* THE VIEW !! Insane views (although there is a tree that needs the top 2 branches lopping so you can see Agung from the rear right Villa). * Great wifi * The bed was really comfortable. * The owner was friendly and eager to assist and communicated via what’s app re breakfast time etc.
Nothing as such … the property is only about 6mo old and a couple of suggestions for improvements a) a fridge in the room b) extra bedding ( a blanket) as it gets chilly at night and a little dank in the clouds c) we had no hot water at all :( As other reviews have mentioned you don’t get those views without a work out …. 157 stairs AND about 100m of a steep ramp so be prepared and take your supplies ( wine/beer / nibbles whatever) down with you .. you only want to walk up once a day !! … however on our last day we hiked it out of there with our packs on our backs and a smile on our faces ( the owner did offer to carry them for us but we challenged ourselves. )

Verified reviewThe view from Pondok Devana is 100% what you come for. I won’t lie, the tacky sign next to a public toilet on the main road alerting me to the fact I had arrived at my hotel concerned me, but as I followed the steep (very) path and steps down to the actual rooms, I was met with surprise and delight. Pomo met me and showed me to my simple, but clean and comfortable room. There are 4 rooms on the property and they all face the mountain. Pondok Devana kintamani is clean, comfortable (note the bed is firm which I love), has a fan should it get warmer (I was perfectly comfortable without it), tea and coffee making facilities and 2 bottles of water for you to use. The wifi was good and the bathrooms were simple but, most importantly, clean. A simple breakfast of omelette and toast in the morning is served at a time convenient to you. I was made to feel welcome and Pomo said the only thing important to him was my 100% happiness which I was.
Please be aware of the very very steep path down to the property. I didn’t have much luggage but should you have a lot of cases this is not the property for you. Also there are no signs from the main road down to the property. You have to follow your nose. Flies - these are infamous to the Kintamani area but perhaps a basic fly swat could be provided in the room.
