Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyBreakfast options were poor. Cars cannot take you from the entrance of the house, only scooters can.
Very quiet place, the staff was really nice and provided information for extra services such as floating breakfast, private driver which we found helpful.

TurkeyOne downside is that cars can’t reach the front door directly – you need to walk a short distance from the main road or take a bike ride.
I had a wonderful stay at Pondok Buda Merta. The house is surrounded by lush greenery and has a calm, authentic Balinese atmosphere that instantly makes you feel relaxed. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, always greeting with a smile and ready to assist with anything I needed. The location is ideal – tucked away from the noise, but still within a short bike ride distance to central Ubud. It’s the best value for money I’ve found in Bali.

AustraliaIt could have done with an extra key when we went out separately. But we just left the key at the office which was fine.
We felt very welcome here. It was a quiet little place outside the bustle of Ubud. The pool was a lovely crisp temperature.

AustraliaThe staff were exceptional! We arrived in the middle of a downpour and the staff met us with a covered buggie so we didn't have to walk in the rain with our luggage. (The access roads are narrow so a car cannot drive down). The staff were amazing, the rooms were spacious and comfortable and they cleaned daily. The location is great in a quiet part of town but within walking distance to some great restaurants.

United KingdomYou have to walk 10/15 minutes to the main road to get a taxi. There are a few restaurants to choose from on the road up though. No glasses in the villa apart from bathroom. No wine glasses or tumblers etc. they need to invest in a modern lock because when I went out & left my friend in bed I had to leave the villa unlocked
Really nice villa that looks like thepictures. Can have breakfast delivered by local company (not the best). Rooms had smart tvs and mosquito nets. Pool was lovely and clean. Beds comfortable. Hosts friendly.

New ZealandWas not aware that cars could not access the villa, would either have to walk with bags or arrange for the villa to do the pick up
Very quite location with easy walk to eateries down the little lanes. Close to centre of Ubud. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. Very clean, everything we needed

AustraliaMore teabags! We managed to make the one teabag last two days :) but would have appreciated more and more variety. It was a long walk into town or to the nearest big supermarket. Guess that's why everyone rents scooters.
This very compact villa met the needs of our small family. The kids enjoyed the pool which was fine for a splash or to cool down but too small for extended play. (It is not fenced so would be a bit stressful with a baby or toddler). The location involves a 5-minute walk to the main area of cafes, juice bars and stores with a few basics. The villa included a very simple kitchen with hot plate, toaster, kettle and a few pots enough to cook some instant noodles and eggs. Our host did an amazing job of making up the rooms each day which was a treat!

United StatesNo complaints. I’d come back. I even extended my stay
This review is for the one bedroom villa. I loved it; a nice quiet location adjacent to the quickly vanishing rice fields. Pool, gardens, privacy all a plus. Bed is comfy and breakfast (which is not typically included unless you pay) is great though you must specify a time for it so it might not work if you want to sleep in. I see what people say about the alleyway being far from the street but I had a scooter which obviated that. There are plenty of affordable restaurants on the alleyway/road so you do not need to go into ubud center.

AustraliaThe location is about 600 mtrs from the main road and not accessible by car. Only bikes can go through and obviously, walking.
The property is beautiful and was perfect for our group of 4 and a kid. The rooms are pretty with the high ceilings and the net over the bed, making it look pretty cosy and welcoming. The bathrooms are huge and very clean. Koma was very helpful everytime. Even late night emergencies were sorted out, all thanks to him.

PolandNothing!
Everything was perfect! Even the fact that we arrived in Bali at 2 a.m. - the host was waiting for us, then picked us up from a taxi (it has to park on main road) and took us to the villa on scooters. Then a wide range of additional services (breakfasts, taxis, trips). We recommend it wholeheartedly and we will definitely return to this place in the future!

IrelandNothing as such, you are close to certain amenities however to get to the main street of Ubud you would need a scooter or get a taxi. This is very easy to do just something to be aware of when booking here.
