How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Hostel needs maintenance - clear clogged drains in shower, replace shower head stands, bathroom could use a good scrub especially the floor, walls and ceilings repainted.
Central location to several of the freediving centres and some food options on the main road.

Nothing as such
Breakfast was simple and good. Really nice staffs and very helpful. Can rent snorkelling gear for 40k which is a good deal. Place was always kept clean. Lilly will make your day with her cuteness :)

One of the showers was kind of broken.
I extended my stay in Pondok. I really enjoyed my time there. It was comfortable, the staff are very helpful. It has big lockers so you can put all your stuff there and there are not stuff in the floor in the dorm. It’s located in front of one of the spots to snorkel.

I had ants in my bed everyday :/ the space in the dorm is very small, you can't put your bag on the floor, you have to put everything in the lockers, not very confortable when you have the high locker

Sheet was dirty and ripped. Bathrooms smelt bad. No place to hangout. Next to road so busy

It's very close to the main road so you hear the cars/motos passing by during the day. Thankfully Amed is quite calm at night, so not much noise. I was able to sleep very well!
The staff was great, I liked the banana pancake breakfast with coffee, the location is great, in front of the best place to dive and great cafes around. The bedroom was very comfortable.

The toilets needed a bit of TLC, and there was occasionally no shower water. For the price though, these were minor inconveniences. It would be nice to have a dedicated chill spot that's not right on the main street (breakfast table) and ia more comfortable to relax with other travelers.
Super lovely reception, very cosy beds and great privacy. Huge lockers with a key. The banana pancakes are delicious in the morning. It's right across from a great snorkeling spot. The hostel is quiet but you can still chat to other guests (only 8 beds).

Very nice hostel with good beds and clean bathroom Good breakfast (banana pancake) and easy to meet people The staff is also very nice and helpful You can rent a mask and a scooter there

The shower are a little dirty and they don’t have space ti leave your changing clothes or bathroom stuff, it’s very easy to install some. The breakfast is not really that great as it is only one banana pancake, half burned, and you can’t ask for more than that.
Lovely property well located with very kind staff. Also easy and cheap to rent snorkel material. The shared room is quite clean and well organised, you also have a lot of space to leave your belongins safely.

As the other reviews said, this place isn't particularly social. Staff unable to book a boat to Lombok etc but there are lots of travel places along the road. It's a good place to sleep but hard to meet other people. Great sunset spots just up the hill w bit.
Very comfortable beds here and with curtain, plug and light snd big locker. Quiet at night time. Good hot shower. Nice pancake for breakfast, which starts at 7am. Good of you have an early pick up, like I did. VERY close to beach. For the money is it excellent.

There were millipedes everywhere including in our room as they could get under the door.
Nice, simple room - nothing special but in the price range it is good. Breakfast is a nice bonus.

The girl at reception doesn't speak much english and doesn't have much information, so to every question she told me to wait for the manager, who wasn't coming until the morning after. It would be great if she had all the info about shuttle buses, tours, etc. to organise the stay on the same day of the arrival.
The dorm is really comfy, with great lockers, good wifi, and two toilets/showers outside. Nice breakfast (just banana pancake option) and free water.
