Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

EgyptThe only downside is that the rooms aren’t soundproof, so you can hear your neighbors
Highly recommended! The place is very clean, and the owner is super cute, helpful, and friendly, along with his lovely family. He made the best breakfast in Bali with lots of variety, including fresh juice and fruits. The room is big and clean, and it was my first time enjoying a comfortable bath with warm water since I landed in Bali. I will definitely stay here again when I return.

TurkeyRoom lighting is not sufficient. The room needs ventilation.
My wife and I stayed at Pomelo Guest House for 1 week. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Food: When I told them I was vegan, they arranged a meal for me. What we ate was very tasty and filling, and breakfast included a plate of fruit or a glass of fruit juice :) Room: The bathroom was spacious and had hot water. We were in the room that received the least sunlight, so I think the room was a little humid, but it wasn't a big deal for us. We didn't have any problems when it was ventilated during the day. We usually preferred to sit on the terrace. It was quite enough for 2 people. Wi-fi: The internet speed was very good, it's not possible to find 70-80 mb internet everywhere in Bali. We work online and we had no problems. Facilities: They helped us rent a scooter at a reasonable price. The garden is green and very beautiful. It was heartwarming when you look at it and there were many fruit trees. When we were leaving, they gave us bananas from the garden to eat on the way. It was such a kind gesture <3

ThailandThe road to the place seemed difficult at first because of the climb.Check google maps if you are a new driver
The owners are a kind Balinese family. The place is very quiet and safe. Beautiful garden with birds. Comfortable bed, delicious breakfasts and cleaning on request. The owners are always in touch, ready to help with household issues. The place is located in a quiet area of Ubud, within walking distance there is a good coffee shop with a view of the rice field. Despite the fact that the soundproofing of the rooms is not ideal, we did not experience any discomfort for 2 weeks.

SwedenThe soundproofing wasn't great, but I had really respectful neighbors so it didn't affect my sleep whatsoever.
The staff were very kind and accommodating. The breakfast was really nice as they allowed you to tweak it to your preferences. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. They provided drinking water as well.

ItalyThere are many insects and small animals in the night, but this is not specific to this particular place; it applies to the entire Bali area. There isn’t much that can be done about it. It is Indonesia wildlife.
Lovely homestay just 10 minutes by motorbike from the bustling city center of Ubud, surrounded by rice fields. A peaceful place with a beautiful garden and a delicious breakfast served daily. The family is very kind and helpful, making it feel like home. Excellent value for money! Highly recommended.

IndonesiaIt was good value for price, so not wanting to complain. But the kitchen could be kept a bit cleaner and it was quite noisy at times.
The hosts at Pomelo were really kind and it is a friendly, affordable, family run guest house. The garden is lovely and I was able to enjoy some of the fresh granadillas from the vine growing just outside the room. The breakfast was good, with delicious fresh papaya juice. I was grateful for the drinking water available. It is conveniently located for trips into the centre of Ubud, and easy to order a scooter ride for transport. I appreciated the BeCLean laundry service nearby, with very friendly service. And also had a really good Balinese massage at Ketut Spa, just around the corner from Pomelo Guest House. There are a a few good restaurants within easy walking distance from Pomelo. And even though I didn't take a class, the family offer traditional Balinese cooking classes, at their home too. I wish them all the best with their guest house business.

SloveniaThis place is AMAZING, but there is 2.5 MINOR downsides to this place. First is soundproofing of the rooms, you can hear your neighbours speaking next door (especially in the bathroom) if they are not considerate of their volume. The second downside is a bloody rooster from (I guess) next door neighbours being loud from like middle of the night up until late morning, which can wake u up during the night. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper (or bring them anyway just in case). 0,5 downside point is location - you need a motorbike to get there and to get around the area - to the center of Ubud is like 10 min by motorbike. But there is no problem getting Grab / Gojek to / from the place or renting a motorbike in the neighbourhood. Overall satisfacion: 9/10 (just because of the bloody rooster) would come back in a heartbeat and would definitely recommend it to friends&family. Really worth a visit.
This place is AMAZING. Very kind, attentative family, who really tries to make your stay memorable and makes you feel very welcome and almost like part of their family. They really try to help out with anything you need. They prepare superb breakfast with the best fresh juices I had in Bali. The rooms are very spacious, the bathroom is very nice, hot water, towels (which are changed after a couple of days staying there). They even clean your room daily and check if you need any restocking on toilet paper, shampoo, new towels, etc. The room has a very nice comfortable terrace (our favourite) overlooking their beautiful garden. Every terrace has a complimentary tea and coffee, a water refill station and a kettle. It is a very peaceful place during the day and makes you want to stay in and just hang out on a terrace. I would go back in a heartbeat (with some earplugs for the night) and can only recommend this place. Overall satisfacion 9/10 (just because of the bloody rooster who gave us some half-sleepless nights).

United KingdomThe walls are a bit thin apparently so if you are trying to have a late night conversation with family members on the other side of the planet you might get complaints that you are being too loud
