How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe owner, Sekar (Wangi) answered everything I asked starting from the pickup time, arranging a motor guide, interesting places, where to buy lunch, convenience stores, etc. Since I am a solo traveler, no tour package would take me. If there is, the price is terribly expensive. Sekar arranged a motorcycle driver to take me to sunrise places and the harbor with affordable price. I didn’t eat breakfast because I visited Atuh and Diamond beach. Sekar gave me brunch: rice, veggies, and pepes (spicy steamed fish and grated coconut wrapped in banana leaves). Regarding the room, it’s spacious with a double spring bed, enough for 2 people, whereas in my own house I sleep on the floor with a mattress. To sleep on a spring bed is nice. There is a shower room and a toilet. It takes time to heat the water. I could enjoy warm shower. There are two wooden chairs, a table, and a drying rack in the verandah. I could wash my clothes and dry them outside. The wifi’s connection is very good. There is a Balinese style of Gazebo outside where you can sit and enjoy the sea breeze. It’s advisable to bring a backpack instead of a suitcase because the the harbor conditions which mostly sand and small rocks, when we got off the boat, all passengers had to plunge into a water and walk a bit to the beach. I am short so a knee length of sea water for others became a thigh-length for me. Please travel light when you go to Nusa Penida.

Verified reviewSekar was the best host we ever found in Indonesia. Very friendly, high level of English and most important she was very understanding with our request. In this facility the included breakfast is from 8 am but we booked some excursion earlier in the morning and she was so kind to bring the breakfast the night before so we manage to have it anyways. The price was more then worth it, the room is spacious and clean, far from the caos, you don’t hear motorbikes, and the view, WOW, you can enjoy your breakfast or your chill time looking at the sunrise/sunset on your chairs outside the room. A/C perfectly working. Near the center, and many restaurants. Laundry service if needed. Mattress and pillow really comfortable. If we ever go back to Nusa penida we will come back here!!!

Verified reviewNothing really! The staff are nice and responsive but I would rather a nice comfortable room.
When we entered the room we thought maybe it wasn't yet cleaned cause things looked dirty, like the towel in front of the bathroom was super dirty already used maybe many times. Disgusting. The room is full of mold and stains. You can see that the room is always humid and the walls have big parts coming out. The bedsheets were maybe not changed cause it was really itchy. The room has spiders, one day we found a cockroach and plenty of geckos as the door doesn't close well, allowing anything to come in really. It was hard to sleep due to the humidity smell and there are thousands chickens around and dogs making a lot of noise that the building doesn't soundproof. The bathroom is the worse place, there is no ventilator, the water stays all over the place leaking into the area of the toilet and sink. No hot water at all. The walls are coming off. The place is really in bad condition without proper care. We made the mistake and booked 3 nights cause it's very cheap and had 9.1, but really the last night we were thinking to just leave and sleep somewhere else to get some sleep. It's really not a 9.1, this is not what you expect from 9 accommodation. The breakfast is okay but always a bit later than you ask so keep that in mind if you are in a rush and need to go on a tour or take a boat.
Thank you for giving input to my accommodation. For the room I cleaned it before you arrived, I replace it with a clean bed sheet. I have never seen a profit in the room because I myself clean it. For the towel in front of the bathroom, it's a clean towel it's just that the color has faded. About chickens and dogs, we are in the village and are still natural. Is it wrong if they are around us? You should not extend your stay in my place. once again thank you 🙏😊 for breakfast I was only late a few minutes and only once😊

Verified reviewI have been the worst guest possible, literaly. I crashed with the motobike of the owner and the day after when the motor was repaired I lost the key from it. The owner stayed calm and behaved nice to me even after all of this. She even made me a delicious breakfast every day. She is a super nice person, the village is beautiful and apartment clean and in a perfect condition.

Verified reviewIt really does have a nice view and is extremely quiet. The hostess lives elsewhere and there were no other guests so I found it very relaxing and certainly a great bargain. Perhaps just a tad neglected.

Verified reviewSekar is an amazing human. You will have an experience with a local. She picked me up in the pier and made me feel like at home. It is very private and you are surrounded by quietude. The views are beautiful. Thank Sekar.
Small thing that It was missing: soap and shampoo.

Verified reviewI stayed 3 nights in Poling Sea View, which is enough for Nusa Penida. Sekar picked me up at the harbour with her scooter - and she helped me with a lot of other stuff, which was great. Unfortunately I ate something bad, so I got the Bali Belly, but I knew, that I could always text Sekar, if I need something. And she also made vegan Pancakes for me. So I can really recommend staying there, if you don‘t want to stay at a fancy hotel but want to have the local experience.

Verified reviewI stayed at this lovely place for a couple of days and had a wonderful experience. The space is very clean, and the owner is incredibly supportive and kind. She cooks delicious meals, which I really appreciated, along with her warm and welcoming manner. The location is also quite convenient, being close to a petrol station. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would highly recommend it.
Just location is abit tricky once you find you are there.

Verified reviewThe owner is so lovely and helpful, she goes out of her way to make sure you're comfortable or if you need anything like ferry tickets, a taxi or motorbike. She even offered me some donuts from her bakery, in addition to the free breakfast she provides. I definitely recommend staying at her place! It's has a nice little view of the village and ocean, little shalas where you can eat or meditate.
The location is a little tricky to find but once you do it's easy to get to.
