How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Bathroom very basic - not even soap or toilet paper. Requested room to be cleaned half way through our 4 day stay and not done.
Good location lots around (including mosque - which was quite loud but added to the atmosphere!) and about 10 min stroll to beach.

The shower only has cold water. The mattress is weirdly stuffed, feels like you're sleeping on dried grass with hollow places and more stuffed ones, not great for the back. The sink was leaking, so all my belongings that I had next to it got flooded.
The location is perfect, close to the beach, the pier and many dive schools around. The AC works well and the WiFi is good enough. The water dispenser is always a plus.

The outdoor sitting chairs were very uncomfortable, probably adding a small cushion will help a lot.

It wasn't that difficult for us, but keep in mind the mosque is right next to the property so get ready to be waken up at 5am with very loud prayers.
Very good location, the staff was very kind to us and the place was fine, the beds where very comfortable and it has ac so its a good thing!

I wasn't sure when I first arrived Room a bit on the basic side, but I was pleased to have a private room and not be in a hostel dorm. For the amount of time I was in - it was great. Bed was fine, bathroom fine - no hot water but was so hot, not an issue and again, normal in Indonesia Provided towels Drying rail outside and chairs to chill in garden staff lovely and friendly Wifi was fine too Location was great - port side of the island and like an 8 min walk

Rooms were not as new as advertised. Location is beside a Mosque, so can be woken by call to prayer.
Ahmed was really kind and helpful throughout our stay. Good location which is close to the port and many restaurants, bars and activity help desks.

More hangers would be a great plus.
The staff is friendly and there are breakfast options and free water available. One can rent bikes there. The location is great, especially if you decide to spend your time outdoors.

The mosque next door is super super loud, be prepared to be awoken at 4.45AM daily. Our bathroom ceiling leaked during the heavy rains, when you ran the shower the water smelled like sewage.
Ahmed was a great host and made the best banana pancakes! Excellent value for money.

Next to the mosque so you will hear that starting at 4am but it didn’t bother me much.
Staff were one of the best parts of this homestay! Very accommodating and great chats every day. Bed was comfy enough and room was very clean. Great value for money if you want a private room:)

The bed wasn’t very comfortable and as the honestly is close to a mosque, you get woken up by the noise early in the morning (if you’re a light sleeper like me)
The staff were extreme helpful and accommodating - always there to help us with any questions and we were even able to hire bikes from them directly. The location of them Homestay is great and it’s good value for money.

The mosque is newt to the homestay and they start calling for prayer around 5-6 AM 😆 We got used to it. You need to stay a long way at the island, if you don't want to hear anything (I guess).
The staff were really great and helpful 😃 got our clothes washed in just a few hours(really cheap). There's a great restaurant next to the homestay where we bought juice every morning for our breakfast. So delicious! WiFi worked fine. The area is really fine!

There is a mosque close to the property which is very loud early in the morning. Didn’t bother me that much but some people may want to bring earplugs. (Obviously this is not the property’s fault)
The guys working there are extremely helpful and so nice! They helped me arrange a trip from Ubud and also some activities during the stay. It’s really good value for money if you don’t want to stay at a hostel but want to stay on a budget.
