How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewIt is a great stay in PGS homestay. The host was very friendly and helpful. It is a nice quiet place with only total 4 rooms, so it felt so private. Breakfast was great, although we needed to order a day in advance. The place was amazing- it is a heritage mini complex building with the family residence and temples. Wifi connection was great - we managed to have video calls with the UK. The host helped us getting tickets for kecak dance, as well as dropping my daughter to the venue as she couldn't join at the very start. We really enjoyed the stay - this was exactly what we're looking for, to experience the Balinese culture and hospitality.
We kept forgetting to order breakfast a day before - so one day we didnt have our favourite mie goreng there, but this was our fault. The water pressure upstairs was not that great - but it was good enough to have a good shower.
thank so much sir about your recomendation, we will fix about that. kind regard yande PGS

Verified reviewExcellent location - really central and quiet. Friendly family - couldn’t do enough for us. Felt very welcomed and anything we asked for was provided immediately. Really good value for money. Entrance easy to locate and navigate. Also - lovely puppy who was a joy to see in the morning!
Nothing. Everything was excellent.

Verified reviewExcellent location, very quiet but close to everything. Lovely family. Small complex only 4 guest rooms, rarely saw other guests. Had pool to ourselves each time. Huge room and bathroom, daily room clean. Optional breakfast 5K, with five options. Highly recommend you stay here.

Verified reviewLocation and cleanliness of the room and ability to leave luggage until it was time to move to the next location. The friendliness of the staff and 24 hour security.
Noise in the morning time from workers and it took a long time for requests. Also, our room was not cleaned or towels replenished daily. We were given two towels; one for the pool and one for bathing. No towels for the floor to step onto after showering or for bathing.

Verified reviewGreat homestay with four rooms at the other end of the family compound to their own quarters. The family are lovely and welcoming. The pool is great. The location is peaceful (except for a bit of muffled live music in the evenings from the main street). It's a really interesting part of Ubud, just near the main street of Jl Raya Ubud, but enough away from it for respite. The pool is refreshing with sunbeds in both sun and shade, and you often have the pool to yourself while other tourists are out on tours for the day. There are some lovely back lanes and paths to explore nearby, and ricefield walks (Sweet Orange walk, and Sari Organic walk). The room and the seating out front were comfortable.
Nothing.

Verified reviewNasi goreng was out favorite among the breakfast choices. For only 50,000 IDR, the breakfast meal included fruits and coffee or tea
If only I would pick something to dislike then it is the location; i wish it could be a little bit closer to the main road. However, the big room, bigger shower room cum walk-in closet, the pool, and of course the wonderful hosts, made up for short walk.

Verified reviewPerfect location, almost in the city center, close to the Monkey Forest and yet far enough so you don't have unwanted visitors. The pool was very pleasant in the afternoon heat and the host will do everything to accommodate your wishes.

Verified reviewPGS Home Stay was perfect for our family trip to Bali. The hosts were amazing, and the property was excellent. They treated us like part of their family and made sure we had all the comforts we needed. The property was clean and well-maintained with daily cleaning. It’s also located in the heart of Ubud, just minutes away from many temples and local attractions. Plus, it’s conveniently close to numerous restaurants.
Nothing. it was great

Nothing too much, it was located down a narrow walkway which got waterlogged with rain but not much they could do about that.
