Bathroom had no toilet paper most of the time. Toilet roll holder is too big for the small width of the lightweight toilet roll so it fell on the floor and was soaked. Backpacks and larger bags were right beside the beds. It was apparent that staff never monitored safety concerns. There was plenty of space outside the smaller lockers to place big bags. The shower/bathroom area was extremely small. No shower screen. Floor was always wet. Very small mats outside the two toilets were dirty. Two small toilet bins and large rubbish bin inside the room were overflowing for two days. The drains in the shower area had bundles of long hair on them. Obviously never cleaned daily.

Hot showers. Cold air conditioning. Very comfortable bed. Good location for shopping, not for eating. Free unlimited cold water on tap. Free tea and coffee.

Great location right in the heart of the main strip, but you never heard any noise when trying to sleep. The staff were wonderful and friendly, with a bonus of free water refill, and all day self serve free tea/coffee. Staying in a dormitory and having a swimming pool such a bonus.

Great hostel to stay in. The beds are large, comfortable, and private. Two bathrooms with hot water showers that work well. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Free tea, coffee, and water at reception. The pool is big and is a nice area to relax at. The dorm is located inside of a hotel so all of the facilities are hotel standard making it great value for money. Highly recommend!

Absolutely the best hostel I stayed in Kuta/Bali! Very clean, big room with space for everyone great to not feeling suffocated in a small dorm. En-suite and comfortable bed! Fresh room! Receptionists were FANTASTIC and always nice and helpful. I came back twice and I will come back again when I’ll be back to Bali!

The upper dorm beds are somewhat dangerous to climb, as there are hardly any handles to hold onto and the steps of the ladder are huge

Agoda never reimbursed me for my reservation at Mad Monkey when no warning or notice was given for no travel on day of silence April 29 2025. Clearly if I am not allowed to travel on the roads I can't make it to my next hotel. They new about Nyepi but did not tell me or refund me.

The staff were extremely helpful during Nyepi, a local day of silence where no movement, change of residence was permitted. I had another booking elsewhere, was not allowed to travel in the streets, they gave me a place to stay for the night. They let me upgrade no problem.

The water pressure was terrible. The ensuites are within the room so you can hear everything that goes on in there which isn't ideal for anyone with bali belly!

Very clean, room was quiet and the beds were comfortable and private. The top bunks are high but once you are up it is spacious. They have curtains for privacy. Our dorm had two bathroom/toilet ensuites which are in the room but on the other side of the beds. The dorm is within another large hotel so the facilities are good. Was very cheap.
