Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaA bit out of the way for me with not enough Warungs close by. Just my opinion travelling solo. Too dark for reading at night in room
Lovely big room, nice partially opened bathroom, nice gardens and pool. Lovely staff. Adequate breakfast.

FranceThe access to the property was dark and needs to be better lit. The windows in the bathroom need to have mosquito nets. I was badly bitten. They could have had mosquito coils or plug in repellent in place.
This is a lovely property with 10 rooms. The property is quiet and very pleasing to the eye with lots of plants, lawn and neat pathways. These are well lit at night. Our suite was huge, we found it a bit dark at first but got used to it. Extremely comfortable bed with good quality sheets and pillows. Breakfast was served at the time requested and always had a fresh fruit juice, fruit salad and a hot dish. Good communication with Kadek. The staff are super helpful. Highly recommended if you want to relax. You will need transport or use cabs to get to Ubud.

FranceAll good, no complaints.
Lovely recently refurbished large room, with huge comfy double bed. Big bathroom with huge shower, hot water and great pressure, really nice. Outside kitchenette and balcony, very practical. Super kind and helpful staff. Yummy breakfast served to your room, with a different homemade dish everyday :) We had the pool all to ourselves and the place was a little haven away from the noise and bikes outside. It’s excellent value for money and is definitely book it again if I go back to Sayan.

United StatesRoom has a musty smell, like you can smell mold growing and mold was present at one time. Really need to get rid of that. If you were allowed to keep the air conditioner going while you wereout, It would take care of some of that. The humidity and no air running are what is causing the mold.
The room size and bathroom size were very good, bigger than expected. Breakfast was just what we needed, light but wonderful mix of fruits and protein. Pool was refreshing.

GermanyThe only issue was the noise from the neighbor room, it’s not very soundproof.
I absolutely enjoyed the vibe at this place. The room was huge and with a quiet elegance, stone floors and a very big bathroom half outdoors. My room at the back of the property upstairs was very private with a lovely balcony. The breakfast is served on the balcony and was very nice and fresh. There’s a deep pool and the guesthouse is quiet and nice for introverts. I was sad to leave and would return anytime.

AustraliaThe driveway coming into the property needs a bit of a tidy up and you have to dodge dog poo which is tricky at night 😄
This place is great value for money and had a delicious breakfast included each day. The pool was lovely and deep and the location was nicely tucked away with a great coffee shop (Bodega) just up the road at the end of the driveway.

NetherlandsFor us the breakfast was perfect as we had a colon treatment and could not eat much. But normally, the breakfast we would not have enough. An omelet and some fruit, that was all.
Quit surroundings, bathroom recently renovated

CanadaThe kitchen was being renovated which I was not made aware of and this is supposed to take months to complete. So I could not cook which I had expected to do during my two week stay.
The location is a 4 minute motorcycle ride from centre Ubud so it is very quiet there. Rice fields just behind the hotel to get lost in which is amazing. The hotel room was lovely but ask for the ground floor as all the people smoking below, well the smoke rose up and chanced me inside a couple evenings. The room was very clean, and there is a fridge. They also brought me a bottle opener and suggested local medicine for bug bites. The location has two eateries close and two coffee shops but other than that you need to travel to eat. There was a kettle and instant coffee and tea in the room and two bottles of water each day with was awesome. Breakfast was also great. Lovely pool with a water fall which also made the place feel so relaxing.

Quiet nice shower area . Breakfast was just ok . It is quite away from the main hub of ubud but we hired a motor bike or car . A car takes longer . The were several cafes just a few minutes walk from villas . Pool was ok . I asked for a hair dryer . Wifi was good . Laundry across the road . It is down a long driveway .

New ZealandWonderful staff. The owner doesn't live on sight but came to check me in and welcome me when I arrived at 10pm. Large room. Driver can take you right to the entrance of hotel, unlike many places in this area. Nice cafes and restaurants within 10 mins walk. 25 - 30 min walk to crazy central Ubud.
