Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsBreakfast is very little. The description of the villa was not very clear, I tought to have 2 room with a communication door but actually it was one villa with 2 apartments, one at the ground floor and one above, not the best with children. All night there was a noise but I couldn't figure out from where it was coming from. It was like a fan but our airco was off, maybe from neighbors.

United KingdomThe property needs a good amount of maintenance work doing. It looks old and falling to pieces. In the room description, there are tea and coffee making facilities, but besides a kettle, cups, and saucer, there was no tea, coffee, creamers, or sugar provided. They provide 2 very small bottled water - only 300ml each. How is that supposed to last the 2 people all day? It had outside cooking facilities but no cutlery or crockery. We had cockrochies every day, and we had to get the staff to clean and spray every day, which they did. The staff were lovely however they did not speak English much and they were very understaffed. The eatery was inadequately stocked, and they did not have basic food to supply breakfast, which was included in the price. Once they closed up the kitchen by about 8.00pm without notice. We got in late and didn't want to go out for food. Place's we called to get food were quoting an hour and half waits. It was just not on. If we had known the kitchen was going to be closed, then we would have got a takeaway on the way back.

United KingdomThe villa itself has a the classic Bali look which we wanted with its own private pool and is comfortable and clean. The boys that work there were very helpful and tried their best to assist us with everything we needed but unfortunately the property needs a reasonable amount of maintenance to keep it looking as good as it was when it was first built. A lot of the food in the restaurant was "not available" when we came back from day trips and they didn't tell us one evening when the restaurant was closed completely but they did make us a nasi goreng We also found a lot of cockroaches in the room, every night for which they gave us a spray which was very effective

AustraliaThe stairs to the second floor room were narrow and difficult to use, and got wet when the roof leaked in the rain- very slippery!! The rooms were very dark. The food was below standard- small meals for price, didn't come out together, parts were hot and parts were cold, parts were missing, unreliable. Place was run by young men who were disorganized. Bed was hard.
The ambiance of the room was fantastic, and so were the gardens and the private plunge pool. We enjoyed the remote location close to rice paddy fields. Found a fantastic restaurant to use at a resort a few hundred meters further down the road.

SingaporeIt's a very remote place, and you need an additional 30 mins to come out and go back. The room is a bit smelly ( may be due to rain / weather). We didn't try breakfast there as we are pure vegetarian. So we can't comment on that. If you plan to stay very quote, remote place, it may suit you. Staff were friendly and helpful. No amenities / restaurants nearby. You have to buy stuff to make your stay comfortable.

Hong KongIt was quite noisy with the roosters - they kept crowing day and night! It's not really a big thing though if you like the rural feel of staying in a country house.
The villa was very nice - the set up and the vibe was what we expected for a balinese villa. The staff was very friendly and helpful too :) We had a pleasant stay!

TurkeyAfter 6 PM, life in the area essentially comes to a halt, so keep that in mind. The places you can visit are somewhat limited in proximity, though they are definitely not very far. We stayed for two days at the end of August and found that we were a bit cold in the garden and couldn’t comfortably use the pool in the evenings. This might vary depending on the season. The quietness and natural surroundings were a bit unsettling at first, but you get used to it.I think staying for 3 or 4 days is ideal.
The facility is definitely immersed in nature. It’s a quiet and serene place within the local community. It feels authentic and, in my opinion, beautifully reflects the Balinese lifestyle within Ubud. The staff was very respectful and kind. You can choose to have your meals in your room, and they also provide massages in your room. These privileges were nice. The rooms and the pool were clean, but since it's a forested area, don't expect perfect cleanliness. It was a lovely experience for us. Also, We met someone through the Grab app who gave us tours at reasonable prices; you can even arrange for a full day. He was very friendly and a great person. If you go there, you should definitely reach out to him. I’d be happy to share his number with anyone interested.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaVery hard to find this location through narrow streets. Moisture in the house is everywhere. You can smell it and feel it. In rainy days humidity level in house is huge. Over night you could hear lot of roosters. Kitchen staff is very slow, and for four of us to make breakfast we have to wait at least 30min.
No mosquitoes... Maybe in the dry season after 10 days without rain this could be very enjoyable place. We got whole house for affordable price. Distance to Ubud is app 20 to 30min by car and 15min to The Kayon Jungle Resort. Few other attractions are in very "short" distance in km but not necessary in minutes.

IndonesiaThe privacy could be improved as nextdoor villas are not totally seclude in view and because the unit mostly made out of wooden materials it produces lots of noises when guests moving around the villas. We were very lucky as when we stayed there, other units were unoccupied
The essentials of what a private villa should be but it should also have a private pantry of some sort(the big empty space on the corner of the dining area). The villa is off the main road so lots of calming nature vibes
