Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt was a bit of a walk down the hill to Sideman village centre so you would be better using a taxi.
The location was fantastic with stunning views from the villas and the infinity swimming pool. The staff were very friendly, helpful and courteous and helped arrange taxis and activities. The breakfasts were great with various options, as were the evening meals we had there. We enjoyed the cookery class (and eating the end products which was a full meal !). There was also complimentary afternoon tea and a free 15 min foot massage for guests to enjoy.

QatarNothing really. We loved our stay! As a small suggestion perhaps, for the One Bedroom Suite with private pool, it would be great to have an umbrella or some form of shade in the poolside lounging area, as it gets quite hot during midday when the sun is directly overhead.
Get ready for some serious honest review. I usually never really give reviews in detail but this resort deserves my time to write this. Our stay at Patal Kikian Villas was truly beyond expectations from the moment we arrived until the day we checked out. We were warmly welcomed & even received a complimentary upgrade to a private pool villa, which was absolutely amazing. The villa offers a direct, unobstructed view of Bali’s tallest and most majestic volcano, Mount Agung. A truly breathtaking sight that left us speechless! The atmosphere throughout the property is incredibly serene. We found ourselves perfectly content simply relaxing in our villa, whether lounging in the living room or enjoying the private pool, both of which face the stunning Mount Agung. It was so peaceful & beautiful that we barely felt the need to leave. We wanted to extend our stay but unfortunately the resort was fully booked :( The staff were genuinely friendly & attentive, adding a personal & welcoming touch to our experience. The food from on-site restaurant was consistently delicious, with a great variety to choose from, so much so that we happily dined there for every meal. Every time we went for dinner, we were pleasantly surprised to return & find our room had been tidied up again, which was such a thoughtful detail! We also appreciated the complimentary local appetizers served at the start of each meal, a lovely way to experience more of Balinese flavors. Breakfast was equally satisfying, with generous selections to start the day right. We were also treated to a complimentary 15-minute foot massage during our stay, which added a relaxing touch. The bed was beautifully decorated in a way we had never seen before! And the pillows are so comfy! Overall, this was a superb and memorable experience :) We will definitely return to Patal Kikian Villas every time we visit Bali. Highly recommended!

United StatesWe had a wonderful stay at this beautiful villa overlooking the rice terraces. The pool was lovely and faced directly onto the fields, offering a truly serene setting. The staff were incredibly pleasant and helpful, making us feel well cared for throughout our stay. Although it rained for much of our visit, we made the most of it by enjoying some excellent massages, which added to the relaxing atmosphere. Despite the weather, we had a fantastic time and would absolutely recommend this peaceful retreat.

Germanyall perfect
The room was spacious, beautifully decorated in Balinese style, and exceptionally clean. The highlight was definitely the stunning view of Mount Agung – you can enjoy it right from your bed or the infinity pool. The canopy bed with mosquito net added a cozy and romantic touch. Breakfast was delicious and freshly prepared every morning. There was a nice selection of both local and Western options – fresh fruit, pancakes, eggs made to order, and really good coffee. Enjoying breakfast while overlooking the rice terraces was the perfect way to start the day. The food at the on-site restaurant was also great. While the menu isn’t huge, everything we tried was tasty and well-prepared. The traditional Balinese dishes were especially good. Having dinner there as the sun set behind the volcano was absolutely magical. We’d love to come back one day – such a peaceful and special place!

SingaporeNone actually . However , a suggestion for the hotel to consider - maybe good to line the sliding windows at the balcony areas with UV film . On a hot day , the room can be a bit too hot and uncomfortable.
The villa is very clean and well maintained despite that it is on a hilly place. The place has a great view of Mt Agung on a clear weather . Food was great and the staffs there are so welcoming and friendly . They make you feel great at home .

Romania-
My stay at Patal Kikian Villa was unforgettable! The location is absolutely stunning – peaceful, surrounded by nature, and with a breathtaking view of Mount Agung that you could never get tired of. It’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Bali. But what truly sets this place apart is the staff. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making my stay perfect. I had a difficult moment when my drone got stuck at the top of a tall tree. I thought it was lost for good, but one of the staff members didn’t hesitate for a second – he actually climbed up and managed to get it back for me. It was an incredible gesture that saved my vacation, and I’ll always be grateful for that. If you’re looking for a place that offers not just amazing views but also heartfelt hospitality, Patal Kikian Villa is the place to be. Highly recommended!

EgyptWhile the view gives the impression of a secluded retreat, the location wasn’t as quiet or isolated as we had hoped. There was noticeable noise from nearby roads, with the sound of cars and motorcycles throughout the day, which slightly took away from the peaceful atmosphere we were expecting.
The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the unbelievable view from the hotel—it’s truly something special and one of the main reasons to stay here. The staff were excellent—friendly, professional, and always eager to help. The restaurant and spa were both great, and we really appreciated the complimentary spa treatment and floating breakfast, which added a lovely touch to our experience.
