How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewPalm terrace is a great escape from all the touristic places. The view is amazing, it is quiet and the homes are nice. But what truly makes this place amazing is the staff. Thank you so much Komang, Kadek, Febri and Yuni for your great support and kindness.

Verified reviewMagical place on the top of a hill overlooking the jungle in rural Bali. The place is small - around 8 villas in total - so you get spoiled by the affable supremely efficient staff. We had breakfast (the smoothies were incredible!) and dinner there for 3 nights, and always found something new & interesting. Our teenage boys lover the (huge) chocolate brownies.
Slightly remote - but fine for 3 days

Verified reviewWe adored every single part of this stay. The location is BEAUTIFUL - the view was breathtaking, such a calming and comfortable energy. We spent 5 nights here and will be absolutely be returning, my favourite accomodation to date. The staff were all so beautiful - kind, attentive, caring and helpful. They organised an amazing driver for us - Koko, who showed us around over the few days of our stay. Sunrise at Lehungan Sweet is a must. The food was delish, ESPECIALLY the breakfast (missing the mango chia so much), and so handy to be able to have all meals at the accom (given that Abang is a remote location - 20 mins drive to Amed). Thank you for creating such a special stay for us ❤️
Nothing!

Verified reviewQuiet atmosphere in beautiful location. Making breakfast selection the night before was convenient. Property is well laid out with a simple but elegant design.
Local dogs congregate on property, sometimes barking at night.

Verified reviewWe absolutely loved our stay at Palmterrace. The view was stunning, and the peaceful atmosphere was exactly what we needed to unwind. The staff were lovely—warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. We also loved the amazing coffee and the simple foods made with love, which made every breakfast feel like a treat. We stayed at the two-bedroom villa, which was perfect, and we enjoyed it so much that we’re coming back in four weeks to stay at the penthouse. We can’t wait! Thank you to everyone at Palmterrace for making our stay so wonderful.

Verified reviewThe hotel was fantastic, the staff were excellent and always on hand to help or assist you if required with taxis etc to local areas or any medical issues you may need. It only has a few rooms, very remote overlooking a massive palm tree etc area, which makes it a great location for peace and quiet. You can walk to a few local food stalls and a local small shop. The breakfast was great each morning sitting out viewing the palm trees. The evening food was always of a high standard, very well presented, though the menu was limited its only to be expected with such a small clientele, though they will make items off this menu's if asked. The room was fantastic (the one bedroom penthouse) we had this time though we have stayed in the one bedroom cottage’s before and they are also good. The pool was always kept clean and we would watch him most mornings from very early cleaning it and the areas around it, you could not ask for more. Finally the few local dogs that are around the hotel, they are very friendly and do not bother you if you don’t want to, though for sure make it enjoyable to see them each day playing with each other running about especially Sweetie ♥️ we fell in love with her and she would come first thing each day around 7am to us and then be around most of the day evening always wanting to play. We stayed for two weeks and could easily have stayed longer, I will for sure be back at some point next year.
Nothing, the staff and hotel absolutely get 10 out 10

Verified reviewRoom was enormous, very light and lovely, with an outdoor shower and and indoor shower and bath. Very well equipped. Breakfast was outstanding, and the same goes for dinner. The pool and the view from the pool is stunning and the staff makes you feel at home immediately: they are so friendly. The area is quiet, (but there’s a lot to do and see) and it’s a nice peek into Bali life. We rented a scooter for 1 day (from the hotel) and we did an early morning hike (via the hotel): so nice to see the rice terraces and learn how it grows. Highly, very highly recommend Palmterrace and we’d love to come back!

Verified reviewSpacious and great view, nice swimming pool, relaxing hotel and spacios 2 bedroom apartment with kitchen. Good value for money.
Food is really not up to the standard of this hotel. Breakfast is survivable, really small portions, bland. A menu for ordering lunch/dinner is really strange selection. They aim for nice presentation but the flavor is just not there. Not for western food they want to cook, not even for indonesian. There are no other restaurants near by. It is hard to find transportation as usually nobody is available on Grab.

Verified reviewWhat an incredible place! We booked it simply because we needed to stay a night in the area and we woke up the morning after in one of the most gorgeous locations in Bali. Go and experience it yourself if you have the chance to do so!

Verified reviewWe absolutely loved our three night stay at Palmterrace. It was our second visit to the property and we were so happy to find the lovely, professional and helpful staff still there and happy to welcome us back! The property is magnificent, perched above villages with views of Mount Agung and beautiful coconut palm trees. The sounds of nature are all around. The rooms are arranged around a beautiful central infinity pool with lots of lounge chairs and sun and shaded areas. On this trip we stayed in the one bedroom chalet which is huge, beautifully appointed and very clean and well maintained with a full size fridge, balcony and two bathrooms. Wifi is great if you need it. Breakfast is generous and delicious (the chia smoothies were a favourite) and we also ate dinner each night and had delicious Indonesian dishes - particularly the gado gado. This time we also booked two massages in-house and wow! Some of the best massages I’ve had in a long time. Dewi’s shiatsu massage was especially memorable. For us the location is an ideal base to explore east Bali, but be aware you will need transport to get around - scooters can be hired also. Only other note is that the nature sounds can be noticeable at night time, so it’s worth packing some ear plugs! Final note - the sunrise is absolutely spectacular l! Worth a 6am alarm to have a look and take a few photos.
Everything was wonderful
