Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesBathroom is just one small room with shower, toilet, and sink all in one so when you shower, the entire bathroom is wet and slightly slippery. Luckily I didn’t take a tumble.
Amazing location. Awesome staff and family environment. Other services are offered as well that I regrettably did not take advantage of. Room is clean and perfect for 2 people.

United StatesThis is not really something I didn’t like, just an observation. I’m a solo traveler and before this I normally have been picking hotels that had communal areas.i.e, breakfast restaurant, sitting area. This place didn’t offer that so there was no place to congregate and meet other travelers. I get it. This is a small hotel and I believe with only four units it doesn’t make sense. Anyway, this is not a bad, just an observation just a little too quiet for me, traveling soloing.
The best part for me was the location probably less than a minute from the Main Street- Jl. Raya. 10 minutes to Ubud Palace (my guidebook, said that this is the center of Ubud). The next amazing thing was that if you paid cash, it was $20 a night I paid with a credit card so it was $22 a night US for a room with a king size bed, your own personal bathroom and air conditioning- that’s just truly amazing! They cleaned the room every day. I stayed there three nights. They offer laundry service and I did the express service and I got it back the same day. 2 kg cost me four dollars. That’s crazy ridiculous cheap. I had it back in my room by 5 PM. Extremely quiet, even though you’re a minute away from the hustle and bustle of the main drag, which sounds like New York City. Almost too quiet for me. I think if I had traveled with my wife, we would’ve loved this place the serenity and quietness.

New ZealandIf I’m being picky, a small fridge would have been excellent to hold fresh juices or produce and keep water cold but not a biggy.
I very much enjoyed my stay at Pacha House. The well air conditioned room is so spacious and very clean with amazing large bed and pillows. Very cosy on a rainy Ubud day. Bathroom is clean and amenities great. I stayed in the end room which was nice having a small private porch with water feature and fish pond. The staff and family are all kind and friendly. Location is on a nice quiet side street from the busy hustling Main Street and walking distance to all the markets, cafes and restaurants.

LuxembourgThe road in front of the house is small so when you're dropped off/picked up by a car everything is in a rush because of the traffic that easily builds up. There are unevened big-steps stairs to get to the top rooms, thankfully there weren't a lot. The toilet wasn't in the best shape, eventhough it wasn't as clean as the room, it still was somehow in a decent enough condition. Eventhough the massage was good & very convienantly located right next door, I didn't appreciate how they didn't stick to the promised timings everytime I booked to get a massage done & there was even a time where they canceled one booking when I was eagerly waiting for it all day.
The room is exactly how it is in the pictures. It was very nice & clean. Everyone was nice & helpful. The room was well cooled by the AC. The balcony was really nice & clean. The bed was big, comfortable, and clean. The location was well situated as it was a walkable distance to many centeral places in Ubud. They were helpful & helped us get a private driver for a day. You are living in the same area as their home, although there is a 2 level separate building with rooms built next to their house, it's nice to have a feel of their homey Balinese culture.

SingaporeRoom and bathroom smelt of instant coffee - the whole time! I realised late in the evening it was the room freshener hanging in the bathroom. Once I got rid of it, the smell eased up a little. At time of booking it wasn’t made clear that payment was required onsite in cash, or with 2% transaction fee if by card. This caused some confusion as i had provided card details to secure the booking. Some of the fittings in the room needs a handyman’s attention - eg door handles are loose, light fightings are loose, one plug was loose etc.
Very very clean, quiet, comfortable room walking distance from the main stretch of restaurants and shops. Nice, hot shower, cool aircon, WiFi was adequate (I had to take a work call on Teams which it couldn’t support but it was fine otherwise). Yes you can hear the family settle around dinner/for the evening but it’s minor and only lasts a short while. I did not find it disruptive/annoying as some of the other reviews suggested.
