Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The Guest house is amazing. Very spacious. Located near the city center and the Temple for Kecak Fire Dancing Show. The staff and his family were super friendly.

Swedennothing that I did not liked about my accommodation, but have in mind it is a traditional home stay and not an hotel .
The host family are very friendly and nice people, good communication in english in person and via Whatsapp. They cleaned the room and changed bed-sheet and towel each time I texted and asked for it. During the night the street is very quiet, except birds and insects singing ( which I love and was part of the reason to stay here9). The room is simple , but AC working well , hot shower ( In other years I stayed in expensive villas and did not really had hot water), Internet working well enoughts for streaming movies and video calls. It is located around 15min ( or 10 fast walking) to the center, and on the same street there is one of the most iconic coffee bars in Ubud ( Seniman) and the best plant based pizza, and next to it a small family business warung( local restaurant). I spent one month here and consider to stay again next year. If you want to have a local taste of Bali staying in a place like this is better then a hotel.

Beautiful, quiet, and filled with greenery. The room is more spacious than rooms at similar price and there is balcony to enjoy outdoor view. The location is close to tourist attractions and restaurants.

AustraliaIf you are in a car, with Ubud traffic be prepared to wait! The accommodation is a bit outdated and basic, but for the money 10/10 😃
Everything, perfect location, just out of town but walking distance. The little guard dogs are amusing, family super friendly.

AustraliaThe room was very basic. There were no adornments in the room at all, like paintings etc, so the room felt completely bare and empty. There wasn't even a blanket on the bed, just a folded sheet. While the room itself was functional, I really think the hotel should go an extra mile towards making the rooms more cozy and aesthetically pleasing. Also, in place of AC, there was only a fan.
The central location in Kuta was good. This place is very close to the airport and is next to many cheap local businesses including massage parlours and restaurants.

IndonesiaDuring the payment, the change that the lady gave me was the OLD money that can't be used anymore! When I asked her why the color was different, she said because it's NEW. I was tired and didn't check the date on it. After I checked out and tried using the money in a store, it wouldn't be accepted since it's out of use and dated 1998 Why lie about it to customers 🙈 I tried returning it back to the hotel, but no one was there, only an old lady. No reply to the WA call either

AustraliaThe property was not hygienic at all, full of dirt everywhere. The paved walkway around the property was cleaner than the room. We booked for a double room, being 3 of us. We offered a room with only one bed. One of us slept on the mattress on the floor for 8 nights. Staff doesn’t speak English and it’s almost impossible to communicate.
One good thing about this property is the location, as it it close to the centre of the town. The second thing is that the room had air conditioning.

AustraliaIt wasn’t particularly comfortable - the bed wasn’t very soft, the bathroom had a leak, the AC wasn’t great and the room smelt bad. However you definitely get what you pay for, and for the amount of money we paid, this was expected.
Excellent location, very close walk from the main area of Ubud. Hosts were also friendly and accommodated for our late check-in time.

SwedenWe lacked racks and shelves, especially in the bathroom. The bathroom door’s plywood covering was peeling off and halfway fallen off. Additionally, we got the feeling that the bathroom hadn’t been properly cleaned as we found long hairs on the bathroom floor. Lastly, if you don’t have a scooter, the property is a 10-15 minute walk up from the main street.
Beautiful lush garden setting around the property, staff was quick and helpful when answering queries digitally. Bed was comfortable and room felt private. Working air conditioner.
