How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewAmazing value for the cost especially thanks to the very nice hosts Heru&Andy - they organised everything we needed even when asked quite last minute, including a great guided tour. The room was also very nice and comfortable with beautiful views of the rice fields, the food was excellent... overall a perfect short stay in Tetebatu.

The WC is not separated from shower area and this is not very comfortable. Limited choice for breakfast.

Verified reviewWe stayed here for two nights as we wanted to see the rice fields and nature around. The place was great, and had a great view from the room to the rice fields where we could see the sun rice. Restaurant at the guest house served amazing food and all of the staff were super nice and helped with everything. They also have several tours that they offer around the area, we chose the Nature one guided by Andy, which explained all perfectly: we went to see the rice fields, and all fields in general(chilly, tomato…)waterfalls and monkey forest.

Verified reviewWe had an amazing stay! It was so beautiful and the staff were so helpful and super friendly! We did the waterfall and monkey forest tour with Andi, and we can highly recommend it! He was so knowledgeable about everything and was able to answer all our questions. Plus, his English was very impressive and he also spoke a few phrases in German, which was cool. We had a great stay at Novia Guest House! Thank you!

Verified reviewFantastic stay, clean, nicely located and you get what you pay for. Andi and Heru are great guys, exceptionally friendly and Andi is a delight to have at your table. Well-informed and opinionated, he converses very well in English which is great to get to know the people. The rest of the staff are equally warm and friendly, we stayed just one night as they were fully booked up which was a pity. We would have stayed longer without question. The restaurant was great as well.
Nothing to not like.

Verified reviewEverything was perfect. The room was spacious and clean, with a stunning view of the rice fields and Mount Rinjani. The food was delicious, and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. The tour guide, Andy, was incredible! He spent two days with us and took us to see rice fields, the Monkey Forest, different villages, waterfalls, and more. He explained everything so well and made the experience truly enriching. Andy was also amazing with our two kids — patient, fun, and full of energy. We laughed a lot and learned even more. I highly recommend Novia Guest House and tours with Andy!

Verified reviewNovia Guest House is a beautiful new spot in Tetebatu, and the hosts are doing an amazing job setting everything up. The surroundings are simply stunning with lush trees and expansive rice fields framing the property. Meals are served on a relaxing terrace area where you can take in the beauty of nature while enjoying truly delicious food. The guesthouse is conveniently located just a 5–10 minute walk from the local village, where you can discover a variety of guesthouses, restaurants, and the warm, authentic local way of life. It was about a 2 ½ hour drive from Bangal Harbour (after the Gili Islands), and the taxi ride cost us around £30—an affordable transfer that made the journey as smooth as the stay. Overall, Novia Guest House offers a welcoming, peaceful retreat with genuine hospitality and a beautiful setting that makes every moment memorable.

Verified reviewThe views
The hotel itself is a small farm surrounded by rice fields and with views of the sunrise, it was clean and correct except that the bed had no mosquito net and the door did not close well and some mosquitoes got in, the biggest problem we had was with the calls to prayer, they are next to a mosque and they wake you up with the loudspeaker at 4:30 in the morning, I had a hard time resting for this reason.

The tours Andi took us on provided so much local knowledge and passion about the region and were tailored for what we wanted to see. Can't speak highly enough about our experience as a family and recommend the guest house to anyone.

Verified reviewOnly a short stay here for us (unfortunately), because it was great: excellent sasak food (Urap Urap, Urap timun, sate pusut, spicy chicken) and Andy gave us an interesting and fun tour through his hometown: rice fields, a romantic waterfall and through the black monkey forest. We highly recommend!

Special thanks to Andy who is the best out there such a cheerful genuine person, we learned a lot from him and his way of how he looks at life. Verified reviewStaying at Andy’s homestay in Tetebatu was one of the highlights of my Lombok trip. Andy is kind, joyful and passionate about his community. He took us on an incredible full-day tour — from bustling local markets to beautiful waterfalls and a traditional weaving village, where we met a family of talented women still practicing their craft by hand. Throughout the day, Andy made us feel completely safe and welcome. He was always checking in, picking edible ferns for us, making me a fern crown and sharing stories from his life. The traditional Sasak food we had at his homestay was absolutely delicious — fresh, homemade, and bursting with flavour. It’s clear how much Andy loves where he’s from and how proud he is to share it with visitors. I’d recommend staying with him to anyone visiting Tetebatu — it’s a truly special experience.
