How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewVery friendly and nice family who run the homestay. Motorbike rental for 70k a day and located 20’ walk from Kuta center or 5 mins ride. Clean and spacious room with a fan. We booked for 6 nights and ended up staying for 2 more!
No hot water but that’s very typical in indonesian homestays.

Verified reviewThe owners are lovely. The breakfast is good. The room is fine and functional. It's close to the motorway which is convenient if you traveling around. Good value.
The facilities are quite dated and tired. Some parts of the room don't seem well maintained. There is no hotwater.

Verified reviewI stayed here as a solo female traveler and felt completely safe and welcomed from the first moment. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful – always available for anything I needed (arranging transport , scooter). The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable – perfect for having your own quiet space. It’s located in a calm area, away from the noise, but still just a short walk or scooter ride to Kuta Lombok centre and the beaches. Everything about the stay was easy and relaxed. One small suggestion for improvement would be to offer drinking water for guests – that would make it even more convenient. Overall, a lovely stay with nice people. I would happily come back!

Uncomfortable mattress with lots of springs, far from Kuta and no grab/gojek so you need to rent a bike, unclear which rooms have AC and which have fans - I thought I booked AC but didn’t and it was very hot.

Verified reviewThe owners of this homestay are so friendly and helpful. They helped to use a scooter for the first time. Also one warung near by has very good food and fair prices. I extend my stay as it was so nice Its quiet and no party around. But you can see even some monkey :D

There is no door between the bathroom and room. Smell that was coming out of the bathroom was unbearable. Felt hazardous. I was waking up multiple times during the night because of the smell and had to get out of the bed and leave the door open for 10-15 min how bad it was. But as soon as I close the door (because i was scared to sleep with doors open) bed smell would accumulate again and wake me up again after hour or two so I had to get up and open the door again. All in all - it was a torture and would not stay here again. I know it’s cheap but it’s not worth it.

Verified reviewIt’s so cheap, we paid 9€ per night for a room with air conditioning, including breakfast. The family was nice and location is good but you need to rent a scooter.
It is very basic and cold water from the shower. But for the price it didn’t bother us at all.

Verified review- PRICE / night unbeatable! only 180.000 IDR for a private room with AC - very nice staff - Owners are very helpful and tried to help me with everything - Once the shower head was broken, then they replaced it immediately on the same day - No noise from the main road - Bed comfortable (I would prefer only white comforter cover) - air conditioning - Motorcycle rental - Location - with a motorcycle (!) you can get everywhere easily! - Bathroom basic but good!
I have listed the disadvantages here, which I usually rate! But for the very good price, most points are definitely irrelevant: - no free drinking water - No shower gel, shampoo or soap in the room - mobile internet connection and wifi not so good - ok for video streaming, but sometimes not reliable enough for working meetings - Some of the fly screens had holes in them, which allowed mosquitoes to get in. I then plugged these with toilet paper. Overall no big problem

Verified reviewThe accces is not easy , no asfalt, bumby pathway 2.5 km away from the center. Not a convenient place if you dont get a scooter. Worst and poorest brekfast in Indonesia.,just a cup of cofee and a miserable pancake Dont offer a single glass of water, no soap, no bed sheet ( provide a small blanket , not convenient,since it was pretty hot no furniture in the room apart from bed and small cupboard, not clean,not change towels.... Room really hot We changed it the second night , litle bit more fresh
The room is not what we paid for ,35 € per day, for four days. We had the feeling , it was a scam.The excuse , moto gp compettion , the prices had gone up.
