Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RussiaIt was quite hard to find a place in the middle of the night. First, I thought it is just a normal Balinese house. It was a bit cold in the villa. And I expected more for my breakfast than a coffee and a piece of cake.
I have stayed in this hotel just for a night in my trip around North of Bali. I found a spacious apartment with a comfy bed and some basic facilities. This was enough. The view from the balcony is cool. The hosts were welcoming and nice. But other than that it is ok.

Everythings was perfect. We can only recommend to stay at this amazing place in a beautiful landscape. Komang and his family are so helpful and nice. The food which Komangs wife prepares is fantastic and it is so interesting to talk to Komang. The views are amazing. It was easy to get around because Komang was organising drivers for us all the time.

FranceIt was perfect ! Peaceful place with enough activities to do for 3/4 days. And the staff was very welcoming and friendly. The bungalows were comfy with hot water and a beautiful view (they have no AC but it’s not needed at all). I do love how we shared the meals for the dinner with our host and the other guests. It’s a great way to learn about other people and of course Balinese culture 😊. Thank you so much for this stay !

Everything was perfect, Komang and his family welcomed us into their home and immediately considered us as family. They even cooked for us. It was excellent. Komang organized everything for our day, from transportation to temple visits and waterfalls. We loved it here, wish we could have stayed longer. The sunrise was incredible from the accommodation. We hope to come back, we recommend it with our eyes closed.

United KingdomThat I couldn't stay one more night and do some trekking.
Beautiful spot in the mountains with a lovely view. Such an enriching experience to stay with a local family and have dinner with other guests and staff. Everyone in the family are so nice. The owner drove us to Lovina next day. We got to know a lot about the culture and traditions. That's what travel is for us, meeting the local people. Balinese people have beautiful energy and are the kindest people I've ever met. Loved the 20 min morning walk to the lake with a lovely rustic temple. Much preferred this temple to the Ulun Danu Beratan which has a bit of Disneyland feel.

IndiaThe location is slightly off main road and needs a scooter to go around, especially because of the dogs.
Very spacious cottage in a peaceful location, surrounded by nature. Clean rooms, comfortable bed with all basic amenities. The family is very friendly and hosted a great dinner for us.

United KingdomWe weren’t staying in the main buildings photographed and felt a little catfished in that sense but we still rated it a 10/10 because the experience itself very much made up for it and the room we did have was ample big enough. The room does feel damp because of the mountain air and ventilation issues, but a dehumidifier could help fix this.
Beautiful retreat here. The family really took care of us, cooking food for all guests on a donation basis. They really give you a taste of the real Bali and offered an insight into the way the Balinese people get by in the mountains. There was coffee drying in the main courtyard and you’re surrounded by nature - it feels like you’re a part of the family for a few days. They also helped organising taxis, mopeds, and tours which we were very grateful for.

A true homestay experience, from the second Kadek picked me up at the airport to the drop off at my next location. Loved the experience of having dinner with the family! Everyone was always super helpful and open to answering all of my questions. On the drive to my next location we made a number of stops to interact with different people (working the rice paddies, selling fruit, drying cloves, etc) and to allow me to take all the photos I could hope for. I had asked for an off-the-beaten path route with smaller roads for scenic views and that’s EXACTLY what I got. I walked to a nearby temple by Tamblingan lake for sunrise with one of the employees (Gede) who made me coffee right then and there, loved the experience and highly recommend it! It was a weekend so there were many locals camping, but I’m sure that on a weekday you could find yourself almost alone for sunrise. My one regret is that I did not stay an additional night to discover more of the surroundings on foot (waterfalls, viewpoints, etc) Note: I was upgraded to the villa free of charge as it was available and I think they felt a little bad considering the unusual amount of traffic there was on the way.

Germany- Noise in our Munduk I room (water pump that made a noise every now and then, if you have a light sleep try to book Munduk II rooms as they are different and newer rooms) - wet bathroom (not a big problem but our bathroom got a little wet because the drain was located near the toilet and not under the shower)
If your’re looking for a Bali experience this is the place to stay. Here you’re not just treated as a guest but as a part of the family and learn a lot about one of Balis many cultures. + Being part of a Balinese family (cooking together, talking about and explaining Balinese culture, food etc.) + Real traditional Balinese food (ingredients from own plantation or fresh market) + A truly heartwarming family that wants you to be happy and enjoy your stay (always helpful with recommendations for our trips, organisations of scooter & trips, letting us help cooking when we asked, always up for a good talk about everything) + Beautiful and stunning location in the hills of Munduk (lots of nature, not many tourists, beautiful views) + Nice and big family property (not a hotel but a real Balinese homestay, lots of fruits/ plants) + Very clean and spacious rooms (lots of space, you even got a little front room, bath is big enough 2) + Gede our tour guide/ friend (Sunrise walk with homemade coffee, explains a lot of interesting things on your way, always up for a smile and laugh, takes a lot of pictures and videos for you)

NetherlandsThere was a moist problem in the room that we booked, but they provided us with another room and that was very nice.
Very friendly family! We felt welcome and they made breakfast for us. On one of the nights we asked if we could have dinner there. That was no problem and they cooked THE BEST soto ayam for us. We wanted to explore the area so their nephew drove us to some beautiful and not so touristy waterfalls. He was very kind and knew a lot about all the plants and trees in the jungle, which was super!
