How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewSome of the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Overall I was disappointed in our stay here. There are lots of staff and they were all trying to be helpful but it took a long time for things to be done eg getting a new drink, clearing food away etc. We stayed in one of the log cabins and it smelt quite damp. There was a dehumidifier in the room. It could do with a bit of a revamp considering the cost. The pool is also small, although has a brilliant view and I noticed pigeons bathing and pooing in it. As soon as we arrived we were encouraged to book a Hibatchi session which we booked for 6.30 but we waiting until 7.30 for it to start. This food was ok but felt the rest of the food we had during our time here was average. On our second night, the manager was there. He introduced himself and tried to sell us absolutely everything. Hibatchi (again), wine, shisha, tours. It was really offputting. There was a couple of guys playing live music and he kept requesting songs saying it was for each of the different couples there which was all just a bit cringe. Finally, and this can't really be helped but it was quite noisy. On our second day we didn't feel very well so decided to stay at the hotel and relax. They have a buggy centre from which they run tour and it was all you could hear on and off throughout the day. I don't usually write reviews and perhaps some of these things cannot be helped but it seemed like lots of money for an average stay. Also note that the tax and service charge was 21% which is higher than everywhere else we have been.

Verified reviewThe staff is superb!!! We went for our honeymoon celebration & it was the perfect ambience to celebrate it🤍 The facilities are amazing😀 We regret not having stayed longer and taken a jungle tour. The massage session has been the most relaxed in my life 😍 and I have been to many many, trust me. They always keep the towels covering your breasts and keep their massage to an appropriate limit. The view from the spa is beyond our expectations. WOW. We took the couple’s one. Food exquisite! Best nasi gorang we had in Bali. Everything fresh, served fast, beautifully plated & delicious!! Next time we stay at the floating villa which would have been a dream.
Constructive feedback: we stayed at the jungle cabin & we highly recommend to simply cover the floor drain of the bathroom floor near the toilet forever & ever because it doesn’t bring anything positive, except a bad smell ocassionally. We placed the trash can on top & it helped. Second just to change all towels to a beige/sand color, because I know white can be difficult to always maintain. Third we are super glad to have had a dehumidifier, but we highly recommend to have bigger dehumidifiers available upon request for the rooms, specialty the jungle rooms because for the size of the room, the small one does not suffice.

Verified reviewA truly magical escape in the heart of Munduk Our stay at Munduk Heaven Luxury Villas was absolutely unforgettable. Nestled in the highlands of Munduk, the location is simply breathtaking – the views are out of this world, and every angle feels like a scene from a dream. The architecture and design of the villas are elegant and exclusive, blending beautifully with the natural surroundings. Every detail has been thoughtfully created – it's not just a place to stay, it's an experience. The restaurant is stunning, the food is delicious and full of flavour, and the staff are genuinely kind and attentive. We also had the chance to enjoy a cultural experience organized by the hotel, and it was one of the highlights of our trip – authentic, inspiring, and truly heartwarming. Munduk Heaven more than lives up to its name – it really is a little piece of heaven. We loved every moment and can only say wonderful things about this place.
The only thing we felt could be improved was the cleanliness. While the overall experience was wonderful, we did notice that some areas in the villa – such as the furniture, taps, and bathroom fixtures – were not as clean as expected. A few of the pillows and towels were worn or had frayed edges. These details slightly took away from the otherwise luxurious atmosphere. At a place of this standard, we believe cleanliness should be a top priority. We share this as a gentle suggestion, as everything else – from the views to the hospitality – was truly outstanding. With more attention to this aspect, the experience could easily be flawless.

Verified reviewThe restaurant is nicely designed and offers a great view, but the food takes a very long time and doesn't arrive at the same time. We stayed in a forest room that had a strong moldy smell. Later we noticed that the mini fridge and bathroom were also affected by mold. Instead of offering a solution, the hotel director tried to convince us to pay extra to upgrade to a villa, claiming that all rooms have this issue. However, the other staff, especially at the reception, were very friendly and helpful.
Mold in all the rooms

Verified reviewFantastic views from the tree house and from the restaurant and spa. Good food, good breakfast.
There is a fair amount of extra exercise opportunities when taking the stairs from the treehouses to the restaurant. Stairs going parallell to the rail would be a faster walk but perhaps it is too dangerous. Odd placement of the inifintypool, in the restaurant area. Perhaps consider a sun and swim section with a removable divide between the restaurant and the pool during pool hours.

Verified reviewWe spent our anniversary in what felt like luxury above the clouds. From the moment we arrived, the calming views into the valley and toward Mount Batukaru set a different pace, unhurried and quiet. We stayed in the floating villa, which is very spacious and thoughtfully designed. The hot tub in the room was a perfect way to end the day. But most of all, it was the everchanging valley that made this place special. Whether in full sunshine or when the clouds drifted in to linger over the jungle, the summit of Mount Batukaru would appear and disappear again. One afternoon, we lay in bed for two hours just watching that quiet play of nature. The restaurant, Kaki Langit, lived up to its name. Like dining at the foot of the sky. The food was good, and one evening there was a live band. Not the loud, distracting kind, but warm music that felt like good company. Staff were consistently helpful without ever feeling intrusive, which I really appreciated. A place we’d gladly return to when we need time to slow down and just watch the clouds drift by.
If I had to mention anything, just to make it perfect, I’d suggest paying attention to the colour of the lightbulbs in the room. Some were cool white, which took a little away from the warm atmosphere at night. But this is me being picky.

Verified reviewLocation is superb! The floating villa und the view is stunning!
Everything is outdated. The room and the facility like pool etc. are not clean. In our floating villa we had hair hanging down from the stairs to the upper floor. The shower was very dirty, everywhere dust, dirt and rest of insects. For 250$ a night this is definitely not good! Look at other reviews, lot other people experienced similar problems

The location had pros and cons. Pro: very quiet and peaceful, great for a recharge. Con: very long car ride to get there and nothing within walking distance.

Verified reviewExceptional! This place is unique. Far away from the noisy and overcrowded parts of Bali n the mountains of Munduk, this is truly a hidden gem. Here you are surrounded by nature in a tranquil land. The night sky without light pollution is another nice thing about this place. Amazing experience, would recommend!
