Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RussiaThe place is wonderful. You feel like in jungle, the territory is so green! A little bit far away from the ocean, however, if you have a motorbike, it is not a problem. The house is small, but there is just everything you need. This is really a hidden gem.

New ZealandLots of mosquitoes, not much food close by, not easy walking, is advertised as having yoga (why I booked there) and breakfast but doesn’t have either
Lovely spacious and clean bungalow, lovely hosts, lovely gardens. Each day we visited a different beach around the peninsula, Melasti beach is beautiful, 30 min drive to Uluwatu temple, 15 min drive to Nusa dua another beautiful beach for swimming

AustraliaThe owners are so accommodating, nothing is ever too much trouble. Kind and friendly people🙏🙏 room's are clean and comfortable, aircon is great, location to is perfect for a quieter holiday but still close enough to bar's, restaurant's and shopping. The best part is when you go somewhere for dinner or a stroll. And the beach is close by. I love the grounds to the homestay, it is the Balinese feel to it with the gardens and trees, so beautiful. You won't be disappointed if you choose to stay here.🙏🙏

New ZealandWhile I knew it was not located close to shops I didn’t really appreciate how far the place is away from restaurants and other facilities. It is possible to walk but the road coming back is quite dark with many motorbikes so feels quite risky to walk. A motorbike is definitely required staying here and if you don’t ride then it could be challenging. There are some guests staying there long term who are not that friendly which gives the place a strange vibe.
Nice little bungalow seperate to others. Comfortable bed with good aircon. Bathroom is out the back and very functional with good water pressure. Owner is very nice.

IndonesiaDue to the greeneries, insects are inevitable. MOSQUITOES, even in the bedroom. Had to put up the mosquito net even with the AC on. There are also caterpillars on the porch and sometimes in the kitchen. Gotta bring your own slippers. Sometimes the humidity can be overwhelming. You can hardly get your towels and laundry dry overnight. Also, there isn't any reception area. Although there are always workers there, you have to go look for them to ask for or about something. No soundproofing at all.
The location is great, near to gorgeous beaches and shops. The fully equipped kitchen was also very convenient. The compound was very lush and green and home to lots of cute squirrels. Parking space is more than adequate.

ChileMulia Homestay was a hidden gem we found in Bali. It is a cozy place, with a wonderful garden and Made and his family were always very kind and attending all our needs. The rooms are comfy and very very clean. It is also a very quiet place. You wake up everyday with the sound of the birds or leaves falling down. It has a lot of shade which helps a lot. Thank you Made and Mulia, we will definitely recommend this place.

SwitzerlandVery nice hosts, quiet and cozy little bungalows with a patio to sit and relax between green garden. Even had a little mini fridge to cool drinks and a drying rack to hang clothes. Good wifi, aircon and mosquito net. Loved the grandpa who’s always around and cleaning or working on something in the garden. Really great stay for this price

United KingdomThe only negative consideration is the amount of dogs present in the streets and gardens around. Some were quite aggressive and one street dog had foam around its mouth.
We had a great time staying here for a few nights. Originally we only booked for three nights to explore Nusa Dua but the owners were very nice and the room was great too so we extended our stay. The room was clean and had everything we needed and we felt very welcome here. The owner also provided us tea in the morning which was very nice and some bottles of water which were much neede in Bali heat. The property it self is quiet and nicely maintained. The location is good but you should get a scooter. We ended up renting one each from Sari Mulia (the owners family member's business) for reasonable price and then we travelled everywhere from Uluwatu and Padang Padang all the way to Nusa Dua and Kuta. For nearby food, Warung Local Price was great so you will not go hungry if you do not want to cook. This is definitely a place we will come back to when we are in the area.

ItalyI had some troubles with the reservation, but we sorted it out with Mulia who was very nice and sorry about the situation. The homestay is a bit far from restaurants and activities, but that’s why it’s so quiet and peaceful.
The area is very quiet, there’s a beautiful garden, a nice kitchen and all the huts feel very private and welcoming. You feel like having your own little house and porch :). Breakfast is not included but they can make it for you for about 30k and it’s really good.
