How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewIt’s a traditional Balinese home stay with lovely people and comfortable rooms and large balcony areas to sit. The family that run it are very kind and the breakfast is good. I felt very safe as a female traveller. Location is near to everything.
The first room I had the AC was very noisy and old, as was the bathroom facilities - but they did straight move me to a newer room and everything was good. But be aware that the rooms do vary in quality.

Verified reviewSetting was lovely
The dogs barking at night, no swimming pool. There was no hot water for showers.

Verified reviewAmazing value for money! Wonderful hosts, so friendly! Absolutely loved our stay and want to come back and definitely stay again. Woke up each day to a new layout of the frangipani’s right outside our door.
Bathroom needs better airing or redone as it did smell at the end of each day. A small inconvenience. The window needs mesh on it so no bugs can get in. Again, a small thing

Verified reviewWe stayed 3 days in Mulan Dini House and we could not be happier. The owners treats you like if you belong to their family and the room was perfect. They have 4 cute dogs. The breakfast was really good too. It is the best option, better than other hotels that were more expensive.

Verified reviewLovely homestay with the friendliest family, just a short walk outside Ubud main area. Nice breakfast, free tea and coffee all the time. Cozy room, comfortable bed. Spacious outside area and a clothes rack.
The bathroom could do with a little upgrade but for the money it was definitely OK!

Verified reviewFriendly house owners.
The accommodation wasn't great. There was gecko poop on the walls and floors, no hairdryer or toiletries, and the lightbulb was broken. It was cheap, yes, but in Bali you can find many places with stable quality for the same price.

Verified reviewThe host couple and family are very nice and welcoming. They provide a fruit & toast breakfast with tea & hot water everyday. I preferred cold bottled water and they made it available on my request. I stayed there an entire month and felt safe the whole time. It was very quiet and peaceful at night. The dogs are very friendly & protective and love to be pet. I would gladly stay again.
Nothing.

Verified reviewI really love this place with all my heart! I wish I could come here again as I come back to Bali! This is my 5th hotel in Bali and actually the best one! Also, I travel a lot, and I know the difference to compare, Mulan Dini is really the best option price/cleanliness/place and polite hosts! 1. Brilliant clean room, porch entrance, and even yard is clean. Once, I tried to walk in yard barefoot, and my legs were clean! 2 Attention of hosts Pande and Made. As I arrived, I felt like I lived in a real Bali family. 3 Pande and Made speaks English very good. Before I read a reference, that host doesn't speak English. It is not true! They answered all my questions and requests at once 4 coffee and tee any time! Hot water is already waiting for me in the kettle thermos as I wake up 5 breakfast very fresh, Made cooked it once I wake up and ready to eat 6 air-conditioning works as it should be 7 hot water always 8 good smell and cleaness in bed 9 rooms are not small. It is spacious 10 all shops, cafes, monkey forest are close, I walk every day in Ubud 11 It is quiet, I sleep very well here! Dear Pande and Made, I wish you and your family health and wealth! Thanks for my being in your room
I like everything!

Verified reviewThe inside garden was nice and the ataff is kind.
Finally we couldn't stay there, because they double-checked our room. They offered us an other room in an other guest house, but that had single beds not a double bed. We are on a honeymoon, so we rejected that. We had to find an other hotel at 11 pm..

Verified reviewThe place is very central in Ubud and you can reach everything very conveniently by just walking or taking a short bike ride. The host and his wife are honestly one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. They will do everything to make your stay as nice as possible! The bed was very cozy and the bathroom was also clean.
Nothing honestly, everything was fine and exactly as advertised or often even better.
