Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We had a wonderful stay with Fajar and his lovely family, who were welcoming, friendly, and truly made us feel at home. The room was very comfortable with its own en suite bathroom, and we could also use the kitchen and dining room. The house is in a beautiful village just a short drive from Wonosobo. Fajar speaks excellent English and happily took us to local restaurants as well as on tours to tea plantations, temples, and waterfalls. At one waterfall we were incredibly lucky to see endangered Javan lutung monkeys—a real highlight! The authentic atmosphere without other foreign tourists made the experience even more special. Overall, a truly memorable stay and highly recommended

GermanyNothing that can be changed, but in our room, every sound from the street was very audible (and of course the mosques are loud but that's Indonesia for you) - I don't know if the other rooms are more quiet. It is not a busy street though. The location was great for us because you could basically walk 2 min and stand in the middle of some rice fields with a great view into the valley (and take a stroll down there), but be aware that the house is not located in a central area of Wonosobo. You can easily get a Grab though or make arrangements with Fajar if you want to go to the city, it's not far by car or motorbike.
Lovely homestay, Fajar and his family are super friendly and welcoming and took very good care of us without being pushy or oberbearing at all. He showed us around and even picked us up where our bus dropped us off and later took us and another guest to have dinner in the city, he arranged transport to our next destination etc etc. Really super helpful and nice, and he gave lots of recommendations what to do in and around Wonosobo - he offered a whole guided tour and was very transparent about the prices for different activities, and he was super helpful when we decided to explore Dieng on our own instead and dropped us off at the bus stop for the local bus we wanted to take. I really can't thank him enough! Facilities are perfectly fine, everything is very clean, breakfast was superb (local food, of course). Everything you want from a homestay!

United KingdomFajar is an exceptional host. He’s such a nice guy and will take you to see the communities and areas of Wonsobo that few travellers will see on their trip around Indonesia. He was also incredibly helpful when helping arrange my hiking trip, driving me all the way to the hike up some steep roads!

NetherlandsA beautiful home and the sweetest family! I had such a relaxing stay here. The house looks exactly like it does in the pictures; cozy, clean and full of charm. Fajar, the host, is absolutely wonderful. He showed us some of the best spots in Wonosobo and the surrounding Dieng area. He is a great guide, super friendly, and happy to answer all your questions. Breakfast was also a highlight; varied, delicious, and a nice way to try local Wonosobo and Indonesian specialities. It felt so welcome and I would definitely come back! :)

GermanyBeautiful house with multiple aquariums and a Koi fish pond on the roof terrace. Room was very clean with a nice hot shower and private bathroom and AC. Couldn’t ask for more!! The owners was INCREDIBLE and made my stay and absolute joy. They lent me a motorbike and then showed me the local sight and foods himself including a sunrise Dieng tour. All for an amazing price. His wife and him made me feel exceptionally welcome and were helpful and generous without being pushy. The surrounding landscapes are stunning and the village is quaint.
