How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewWe stayed on the top floor, the room was outstanding. So spacious, AC worked great and was so comfortable. Very private entrance, you are left peacefully during your stay to come and go as you please.
There was a bit of noise through the double doors as they didn’t close properly and are quite thin. Could hear dogs barking repeatedly at times until early hours. Breakfast was great, but I personally preferred the pancakes over variation of this and scrambled eggs - but I think guests asked for variation so I can’t knock this place for listening to what their guests want.

Verified reviewI always love to stay at Meranggi, already coming here for many years and it feels like home. The construction work is finished and they have an amazing new room on the second floor. Very comfortable, beautifully designed, a bath, a small sofa, fridge and away from the noise. The breakfast is lovely and they make it with care.
The entrance is a little bit difficult to find when the market is open, but once you know it is fine. I do not understand the negative reviews, maybe if you expect a 5-star resort but you are staying with a very kind, local family that opened their home for us. Some of the rooms can maybe use some maintenance, but I would recommend staying in the superior double room.

Difficult to find the place first time. No sign boards. The place is in a narrow shopping street. Good for young travelers. The rooms are in first floor accessible by narrow staircase. Difficult to carry suitcases or heavy bags through the narrow staircases especially for elderly. The landlord helped with bags to the rooms. Rooms are neat. Aircon not working on our first day of stay. Repaired next day. Bathroom slippery and no proper drainage. Breakfast menu could be improved. We stayed for three nights. First decided to move to another place but hesitantly decided to stay as difficult to move with suitcases. Car drop/pick up to the nearest street, then you'll have to walk through the narrow shopping street with all your bags to find the place.

Here is why: - There was construction work at the time of my rental and we were not informed of this prior to booking or checking in and it was not written in the posted instructions. - The staff was upset because we were looking for him to ask for breakfast and we asked a woman was there instead (the woman is one of the staff). - No towels or Iron are provided and the toilet is dirty.

Verified reviewA very nice room, we'll decorated and a lot of space :) Also a good location, very central but still separated, so that it's not too loud. The rooftop is also very nice
The showerhead should be exchanged, for once its hard to shower with it, because the water spreads in every direction, also outside, because of which the whole floor in front of the bathroom was filled with water. Also we could've needed a fridge, when we had leftovers they always turned bad for the next day. The service was weird, once he restricted the breakfast time and said its tomorrow only till 8.40, we did the hike that night, therefore were sleeping during that time, also, if a accommodation offers breakfast it should not be restricted. You could not choose your breakfast als also he wanted us to checkout at 11 even though it says 12, and he cleaned the room only once and we had twice no toilet paper. Also there was no water to drink.

Verified review- room is clean and spacious - the toilet also clean and water works really well - close to every touristic places since it’s in the central between jalan monkey forest, jalan Raya ubud , jl gaotama - the owners are also very friendly and helpful - breakfast also good
- maybe just the aircon. It’s a bit hot for us due to the weather when we went to ubud was really hot and the aircon not cold enough.
