One of the nicest and friendliest places I have been to, in a great location at walking distance from Paradise Beach. The staff was super helpful and for a very reasonable price provided me with a scooter and a surfoboard and organised a super early morning dropoff at the airport. The rooms and the atmosphere are very nice.

Had an amazing stay at Melody, Rull and the guys that work there are absolute legends and made sure everyone is looked after and has a nice stay. Ekas is an amazing little town, really quiet but perfect if you’re here to surf. Locals are lovely and friendly, will come back for sure! 😊 Ps: Do make sure you bring your own scooter and surfboards as there is very limited rentals there

Melody Surf was by far the best place I stayed on my travels in Indonesia. The small town of Ekas is so beautiful, and staying at Melody Surf was the cherry on top! I was originally meant to stay for two nights and extended my stay for a week on top, going to find it hard to leave! Opek is an absolute legend and one of the kindest people I came across on my travels in Indonesia. The location is prime, I didn’t have a scooter but it was close enough to walk down and paddle out to Ekas insides. You can also paddle to outsides (but that was above my level). I would highly recommend this place! It may not be a fancy resort but it feels like an authentic Indonesia experience staying here, the pancakes are also delicious and the Lombok coffee!!!

Loved my stay here. Close to Ekas surf breaks and some nice restaurants nearby. Very relaxing and quiet place with basic rooms yet they have all you need for a comfortable stay. We extended by a few nights and I wish I could have stayed longer, it has a good social vibe and the staff are awesome. Big shoutout to Opik who was incredible! He went above and beyond for each guest and really made it a memorable stay that made it hard to leave. By far my favourite stay of my 3 weeks in Indonesia, the people and atmosphere make it very special!

We loved the hosts! Would go out of their way to help you enjoy yourself. The rooms are large with a fan and mosquito net. Surf spot just down the road. Jaya even gave us a lift to the airport which helped a lot.

Best place in Ekas!! If you’re looking to disconnect and truly immerse yourself in nature, this is the place to be. Nestled in the peaceful surroundings of Ekas, this property offers an unforgettable escape from the crowds. The views are stunning, with lush greenery all around and beautiful sunrises and sunsets every day. The rooms are cozy, clean, and designed with a natural charm that blends perfectly with the environment. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. They made sure we had everything we needed and were always happy to share local tips and recommendations. The food was also a highlight – fresh, flavorful, and often locally sourced. Whether you’re into surfing, exploring hidden beaches, or simply relaxing in a serene setting, this place offers it all. I’d definitely come back – it felt like a little paradise in Lombok. The hosts at Melody were so incredibly kind and welcoming. I stayed for a week and felt right at home, and by the time I left felt like I could call the hosts friends! The moment I showed up they rushed me out to catch the end of a great swell, and were always keeping the stoke up. The place is walking distance to Ekas Inside and Outside, a short scoot to handful of other breaks pending swell and tides, and incredibly close to some good spots for food. Staying nearby Inside means catching the quiet times when the boats from Lombok haven't made it out yet or have left for the evening - and inside is a pretty dreamy beginner-intermediate wave to have nextdoor. The rooms are spacious and clean, and nice to spread out in, and with the thatch roofs cool off really well at night to where a fan was all I needed to be comfortable. They recently installed Starlink and I had probably one of the best wifi connections I've had in Indo. Big bonus points for a well run locally owned spot that takes care of its natural resources in a place where expats increasingly capitalize on the tourist markets.

Amazing location if you want some chill time away from the Kuta crowds. From the start you feel welcomed by super friendly staff that will help you with everything you need. If you’re surfing, it’s a 2 minute ride to the beach where you can access Ekas inside and outside (no boat necessary). The rooms are spacious, the bed is big and everything is kept really clean. The breakfast included is really good (get the omelette!) and there is complimentary coffee/tea when you want. 100% recommend this place to anyone.

Lovely big room with excellent mosquito net. Our host Jaya was so welcoming and kind, even inviting us to his badminton tournament final as guests of honour! Great location for surfing, really close to Inside and the beach break.

Very nice people, Jaya gave us the information about the surfspots. Basic facilities were good. Price quality very good! Good and wide mosquito net. Cosy natural roof. Pineapple pancakes for breakfast were very tasty.

What a wonderful experience, from the moment we got to the property we were welcomed like family. Jaya, the manager of the property was so helpful with everything. Rangga the young worker as well. The room was awesome! Massive bed nice shower amd lots of room. Even with no AC we felt very comfortable. The location is so close to inside break and all the others. 3 min scooter ride. Overall I couldn’t recommend this homestay enough! Thank you to all the staff for the amazing experience:)

All things that only mattered as I was a solo female traveller!! Not to worry if you aren’t alone. - whilst the location was really special, it was really isolating and a bit jading to rock up to at night - lace curtains! Please get some proper curtains like you had previously!! Couldn’t really see through them during the day, but when the light was on at night you could see through. I ended up hanging the blanket up on the window because I couldn’t sleep (totally isolated/not at risk of peepers but felt a lot more secure having it covered) - definitely overpriced for how basic it is there. I get that they can afford to up price considering how little options there are in ekas… but still, wild for the basic / run down rooms. Also charge 100k for boats to the surf when it costs 50k at the beach. Maybe they drive you as well? I just got the boat from the beach. - I personally had no network connection in the area, and wifi was really weak when it was working. Not usually an issue but a lot of spots in ekas have really good wifi now so would be great to see an upgrade if possible considering the price per night

Loved how big the room was, nice quiet spot just outside of the main area, working wifi and drinking water. No AC was needed at night with the cool Ekas ocean breeze coming through the ventilated room, along with the fan. Actually ended up a bit cold during the night! Best to have a scooter or transport with the location (but if you are in Ekas, you should anyways), it’s about 10/15 min walk to the few restaurants and buy further to the beach, which sounds fine until it’s in that scorching dry ekas heat! I stayed in a second villa with family during my stay and surprisingly Melody had such little wildlife in the room compared to the expensive villa! Huge bonus!! (I think there are no places for the mice / rats / spiders to hide due to the large open room, so there were only geckos which is amazing). Cool shower was completely welcome after a long hot day in the surf, with great water pressure. Ridiculously quiet sleep, and such a stunning view waking up at sunrise looking over the farms! Really peaceful moments. My fav part.

We had a great stay in Melody. The rooms were basic but it was only opened recently so rooms and bed were new and comfortable. No need for air conditioning as it was cool enough at night. Perfect located between Inside and Outside breaks although you will need a scooter to get around which they organized for us but that is the same with most of Ekas. Jaja was an excellent host and Ranga was a great energy around the place. Any of our requests were met and always with a smile. Stayed for 2 nights and looked to extend but they were booked up. Still returned to see them at Melody even after we had checked out to play some chess, surf and chat. Even brought me to meet some locals and drink some rice wine. Would definitely return again and it is great to see some locals putting their own stamp on the area.

We stayed for the surf and we enjoyed Boys took us to the waterfall and it was amazing Definitely not a 5 star resort but a good experience of the real Ekas! If you wanna meet locals and get a true experience stay here. ❤️✅

This is a new place, they know that they have to work on some insect issues but it’s normal in a countryside area. I recommend it for authentic stays if you can deal with some nature.

- friendliness of the staff, introduction to local people - location and landscape: amazing - great breakfast - affordable surf guiding (100k) - I got a temporary mosquito net (a good one :-) ). They are going to have new ones by the end of the week - I like the gecko below the roof
