We live the older traditional style so that is not a problem, however it’s time the mattresses were replaced. The only other thing is that since the onsite restaurant/bar has closed, the vibe isn’t as social with the villa staff and with other holiday makers.

We love the Maya and have stayed multiple times. Villas are traditional style, pools are big and the Villa compound has loads of space, beautiful gardens and traditional furnishings. The location is just a few steps from Eat Street providing easy access to bars, restaurants, shopping, supermarket, Seminyak flea markets and Seminyak Village. You can step out a grab a taxi within a minute or less is you need to travel further afield.

Property is a little tired and requires a spruce up. Breakfast was poor, like something you would get at a low cost hotel. Pool and pool tiles needs a thorough clean.

The villa was great but the property needs a little general aesthetics work done. New paint or clean of stone, driveway relaid, new cushion cover in gazebo. The breakfasts due to delivery from outside hotel always required heating in microwave. Would have been great to have the restaurant out front open but it must be owned by someone else.

The location is excellent. Close to shopping and restaurants. The pool was great and the layout of the villas very nice. Plenty of room and the staff were excellent.

Everything was older but fine.

Villa was in a perfect location away from noisy street. The villa certainly needs of but of TLC but was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen lacked a few essentials but you don’t go to Bali to cook… with so many eating options close by it wasn’t a problem! Their Villa cleaners came in daily - all 5 of them were males - who said men never make good cleaners!! Can’t compliment the Villa staff enough. So friendly and happy to assist. We stayed in the same villa for 3 weeks and it was brilliant - a bit “rustic” but didn’t sweat the small stuff. You’re on holiday in Bali!

The property is starting to show its age. It seems like maintenance is being overlooked, which is a shame. We noticed a strong rotten smell when using the bidet, and some air conditioners were extremely noisy—we even had to switch villas because of it. The beds could also use an upgrade for better comfort. Don’t get me wrong, we’ll absolutely stay here again on our next trip to Bali, but we really hope they invest in some much-needed renovations to keep this place as amazing as it should be!

Maya Villas is our favourite hotel in Bali! The location is perfect, and the villas are spacious with a great-sized swimming pool—everything you need to feel comfortable.

Open plan living area is needing a little attention. Typical of the time of year but the mosquito were plenty full.

The breakfast options provided are quite poor - a bit expensive for what you get (though Seminyak is quite expensive compared to other areas of Bali), so you are better served leaving the villa and just getting breakfast elsewhere. There is also not much information available in the room (normally in the form of little information sheets) itself when you arrive when you compare to other accomodation. The bathroom could also use a bit of work - drainage is quite poor, and the water pressure/heat isn't great, and while it is a 'semi-outside' bathroom, it felt quite old/dirty so could use a bit of a freshen up.

Staff were really great and the check-in process was smooth. Each villa having a private swimming pool is an amazing feature to have. The villa itself is really big - far larger than you would expect for a place in the centre of Seminyak, and comes with a heap of amenites including a cooktop if you do decide to cook at home.
