The bedsheets were not clean, there was not a lot of privacy, no sockets close to beds, you have to pay for the locker separately. The shower was nice, hot water but it was easily getting flooded.

The pool was nice, good AC and hot shower. staff were friendly.

Location. Felt a bit out of the way which would be fine if in a group, but as a solo traveller it wasn’t really for me. If you have a bike, you’d be fine here no problem.

Room was very nice; big and clean with a good balcony to sit on.

The bathroom have no paper , and sometimes the water doesn't come out. No very clean. Take off the options about the breakfast included if you want to do just a couple toast.

All the employees are nice and welcoming, they don't hesitate to give you the best addresses, to help you for everything! The staff is the big plus of the hostel!

It isn’t the cleanest place I’ve stayed at, and lots of insects get into the rooms. It’s also out of the centre of Canggu, although it makes it nice and peaceful. It could have done with comfy seating around the pool.

Nice pool, fab views from the upstairs rooms, great food/bar and the wonderful Yudi who is always around to cheer everyone up and party with them

There could be soft seats around the pool. The hostel rooms aren't the cleanest, so expect insects and some dirt. My room also didn't match the picture - and the cooking equipment didn't work, so that could be updated (although I used the kitchen instead, which did the job!)

I love that I can order cheap, basic meals on the hostel - very handy! The pool is very nice. Yudi, the staff member, is very friendly and cooks very well. It's a good place to either relax or to party, depending on who is there at the time (there's a bar). Location is quiet - the views are very good from upstairs rooms. Staff so helpful and genuine.

I booked this hostel because of the pool (Billard) table but its gone because of pandemic. And i booked a private room, which wasnt available. But i had a private dorm instead. It was okay but not the cleanest, sometimes there was no water but you just have to wait a few minutes...

Yudi (one of the hosts) is the only reason i dont give a bad review. He is so lovely, funny, caring and makes the place to your home. You can have a wonderful time with him and guests from all over the world at a quite chill hostel bar. I had so much fun! Thank you for that.

Full of mold I have asma so was a big problem electric water an internet would go off an take hours to come back on they refused to move me to different room an refused refund then try charge me extra for private room they eventually move me to better room after couple of hours of email booking.com

Room was nothing like pictured, no lockers, no bedding, no towel, no privacy curtains - you get what you pay for however if a room is advertised with photos you expect the room to be slightly similar to advertised.

Staff were accommodating when requesting to move rooms due to cleanliness and being nothing like the advertised pictures. Staff were friendly.

Margarita Surf Hostel is the perfect spot for surf enthusiasts. The communal areas and 24-hour bar made it easy to meet fellow travelers.

The place is dirty, the room is small and messy, the bed is not comfortable. Of course it is super cheap so you can’t expect much, but still too bad.

There is a 24 hour cafe next to the hostel which is very convenient specially for me who work during the night.

This is basically just a place to sleep – nothing more. My (expensive and large) power bank was stolen during my stay, and I had no way to secure it because I wasn’t even given a locker. Many times, random people (not staying in the room or even in the hostel) entered my dorm to use the bathroom. It felt completely unregulated – anyone could walk in from the street, and no one was checking. The photos on the booking site are misleading. What looks like one hostel is actually a mix of different buildings. The reception and common area are directly by the street, but the actual hostel is located about 100 meters away in a different building. When I first arrived, I tried to connect to the Wi-Fi using the name and password written on the door, but it didn’t work. I walked to the reception and the guy there was rude, saying I should’ve just asked other guests for the password to the working Wi-Fi. I found that quite disrespectful – I wasn’t told the correct network when I checked in, and it’s not my job to ask random strangers about it. Overall, I never felt safe leaving my valuables there. I had to carry everything with me all the time. There are much better hostels in Canggu – do yourself a favor and skip this one.

I stayed from the 16th until the 30th of December. It was a great experience, especially for the conviviality. It's very familiar and I was very well received. People are friendly and help with whatever is needed. If I return to Bali, I will definitely visit.

I couldn’t be happier with my stay here! The location was fantastic, close to the best beaches, restaurants, and shops. The service was excellent, with the staff always going out of their way to help. Highly recommend staying here during your Canggu trip!
