Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe road coming from Poedjoengan is pretty terrible by scooter, especially when it is raining. Make sure you take the route from the other side, or send the accommodation a message after booking to advise you about which route to take. Of course no fault from the accommodation, but just mentioning this to make sure you arrive well! Also, it can get pretty chilly here, so make sure you bring warm clothes.
The owners & staff are extra ordinarily welcoming and friendly. The wooden cottage is like a little temple, very peaceful and quiet. Nights are beautifully dark here, and the beds are soft and comfortable. Bonus: The Dutch owner is a great artist who likes to show his paintings and his Balinese wife is a fantastic healer. Their children are happy to share their ideas of places to visit in the nearby area. I booked initially for 1 night and ended up staying 8. The energy of the land here is incredible. Ps - There is a special Buddhist monk living a few minutes away.

AustraliaThere are no shops close by if you need any beverages, such as beer or wine. It's best to bring that with you. There are shops in the town where you could get any supplies before you get to the Villa. It is a good idea to organise a driver to take you and arrange for a driver to pick you up, as there are no Gojek or taxis near the Villa.
It's very tranquil with nothing else around the Villas apart from nature. It's set amidst a beautiful garden, with many vegetables and fruits grown on the property. The sunsets are spectacular with mountain views all around you. It's a vegetarian restaurant option with very nice dishes to choose from. The rooms/villas are lovely and clean with filtered rain water, hot showers, TV, Filtered water, and comfortable beds and pillows. The owner is an accomplished painter and has a beautiful studio to admire his works.

United StatesThe only thing I would say is that the property is far from everything. It's about 20 minutes on a windy mountain road to get anywhere. Which is not horrible, but did make a difference in how much we explored since getting a driver to go to and from there was pretty hard (the staff helps get you a driver for the day!). This is the perfect place to relax and do a retreat in the mountains, which we needed after a couple of days of hectic traveling through Bali.
Our stay here was a wonderful experience. The staff is so friendly and attentive. We had 3 rooms, so we took a good look around the place (I'm not sure how many rooms there are in total). All the rooms were beautiful and clean. The view from the place is absolutely gorgeous. The food is also really good, and they offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We really enjoyed our stay here. (oh and the dogs are so cute!)

Breakfast and Diner were fine. The best things was the degree of service the hosts were providing. Attention to detail and tireless support with requests and questions. Also, the location of the place is so beautiful. Nice lil' huts in the mountains. A beautiful garden. I had a wonderful stay. It was a bit too rainy to my taste, so I left after only a couple of night, but this place and the Munduk area in general are one of my fondest memories of my Bali trip. Rent a bike and go explore. It's amazing.

United KingdomThe food in the restaurant is very limited. It’s vegetarian and a little bland. Breakfast was fine but very slow. We were surprised that they did not clean the room or make the bed. It was not a problem but the info would have been good. There is building work going on there at the moment. It did not really affect us but again, the info would have been good as we had a few days away to get away from building work at home
Loved the quiet environment. It’s very remote but set in beautiful countryside. We stayed in a cabin which was very clean and comfortable. It gets chilly at night so bring jeans and jumpers/ jacket. The sunsets are spectacular. Staff here are very friendly and accommodating.

United KingdomWe really enjoyed our stay at Manigelang Villa. The bungalows are very comfy, the surrounding countryside views are beautiful, it was great to stay somewhere so peaceful. The staff in particular made our stay brilliant, they were very helpful for anything you need, e.g. hiring a scooter. The breakfast and other food at the restaurant was delicious too! And we loved the friendly dogs!

SpainThe size of the boiler: after I took a shower there was no hot water for my husband. But I probably have to blame myself because I was taking a shower for too long🙈
I liked everything about the villa! It was so cosy and clean, I immediately felt myself at home. Especially after being caught in the rain it was so nice to take a hot shower and to lie under the warm blanket. The staff is super nice and welcoming. The restaurant turned out to be vegetarian (a pleasant surprise for me) and it was interesting to try "chicken" dishes, which tasted great! And I had the best breakfast during our 3 week stay - oat milk porridge with fruit. Besides they have a guitar and it was cool to play it and sing. My highest recommendation is to stay at Manigelang Villa for at least 1 night, better more)

BelgiumThe all vegetarian restaurant is not that cosy, but nice enough to try a few dishes.
Beautiful and calm place in nature. The little bungalows are really lovely. A great place to rest, or explore and walk. You can rent a bike there to get around. They have a restaurant on site, with a nice breakfast and decent other dishes. The staff is very kind and will make you feel like home.

LatviaOne of the most beautiful accommodation we've ever stayed! We chose to stay in the private wooden cottage. Wee found it very charming and the wooden design created wonderful and warm ambience. There were lovely terraces on both sides of the cottage with very enjoyable views. The whole place is very serene and peaceful. Staff was lovely and provided good dinner and breakfast. We also really enjoyed the drive there through the hills, it was so picturesque!

United StatesThat I could Not stay longer ;) Everything was perfect!
Manigelang Villa was the best place ever visited in Bali. From the first moment you arrive, you will feel all the stress relieved from the busy towns. The property is in beautiful mountains, with great views, waterfalls, lakes, hiking trails, golf course and lovina with dolphins close by. The Villas are beautiful, absolutely clean and sourounded by a peacefull garden. It is a family run hotel and they are the nicest people you can imagine. No wish was denied. They also cook you very tasty and fresh food If you like, which is like the whole villa very unexpensive for what you get. I extended my stay as long as, I could and I would stayed much longer If it would be not booked out. In Manigelang Villa you get the very best experiance for your money in 35km distance, I promise you! Highly recommended!!!

After hot busy Bali we appreciated getting up to the coolness and freedom of the mountains. Food available is simple but tasty .. 7 days on vegetarian showed on my waistline. The cottages are teak, sweet, spacious and comfy. The rain buckets down here, but we enjoyed It. Weather lifted long enough to venture out on the owners motor bike a few times and to witness the spectacular mountains sunset and the New Years Eve firework explosion. It's best to book for 4 days plus, as it's a long curly ride 3-4 hours to get to the Villas. Bring a jumper/jacket and load of snacks .. no cooking facilities but you can use your outside camping gear. We just ate breakfast (included) and dinner at restaurant. A driver car will cost about RP 700000 .. ask Villas to recommend the driver, they will do a bit of sight seeing if traffic reasonable.

Beautiful surroundings! If you are looking for an quiet escape from the noisy tourist towns, this is it! Staff is very kind and welcoming.
