Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaMandala homestay is located a short walk away from the Monkey Forest area where there are a lot of restaurants, shops etc.. We really enjoyed the homestay as you can escape the business and noise of Ubud and enjoy the quieter, green lushness of the homestay, the rooms are nicely spread out on different wings of the building so you are not on top of each other. We absolutely loved our room, it was super clean, lovely balinese furniture, very big and comfortable bed with big pillows. The aircon made the room lovely and cool, the bathroom was nice. Staff were all lovely, our room was cleaned everyday which was appreciated. The shared kitchen was simple and a very nice surprise to make breakfast in the morning.

Mandala Home Stay is just a 3-minute walk from the Yoga Barn with a reasonable price. The staff cleans the room daily, and there's both a water dispenser and complimentary bottled water available. Kiki is a wonderful host responsive to questions, generous with recommendations, and happy to share insights into local life in Bali.

My stay at this homestay in Ubud was absolutely wonderful! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with genuine warmth and hospitality that made me feel right at home. The property itself is a peaceful oasis, beautifully nestled among lush greenery, yet conveniently close to the heart of Ubud. Kiki the host went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. It is the perfect place to connect with Balinese culture. I will be back!

SwedenNothing to complain about :)
The rooms are located in a lush, green garden with coconut trees, squirrels and an overall really calm ambiance. Whilst the street outside is busy, the area of the hotel is nice and quiet. I stayed in a room without a balcony, but the manager Kiki showed me a room with balcony which had a great view over the family djungel. My room was clean, free of any smell and had a nice bathroom. I had everything I needed. There’s also a cute kitchen where you can cook if you like. The location is only three minutes walk to the Yoga Barn, an amazing place in Ubud that offers many classes and workshops. The hotel is therefore an excellent place for yogis to stay, but also for anyone looking for a genuine, family owned and beautiful place to stay. The communication with the hotel manager was faultless, always with quick answers. I had an amazing conversation with Kiki upon checkout, and she is just such a sweetheart and told me the story of the family hotel and the surroundings. I left Mandala Homestay with a rested body, fueled soul and abundant heart. I highly recommend for anyone visiting Ubud✨

IndiaEverything was amazing! No complaints.
11/10!! This place was perfect. Honestly when I saw all the amazing reviews, I was wondering how they only had perfect reviews - and at first wondered if it was too good to be true - but after my stay here I totally get it! After I few days, I extended my stay. Kiki, Gandi and the staff are so polite and so accommodating and helpful. They notice the things you ask for / need and make sure to deliver it everyday without having to ask! The rooms are clean, neat and have all you need. There is a shared kitchen - it’s right outside the rooms. Will 100% be back. Also, on my way to the airport, I left something in my room - instead of me having to turn back and almost miss my flight - they met us where we were on their bike to drop off what I had left behind. They truly go above and beyond! It’s quiet, and under 10 mins of walking distance from The Yoga Barn. As a (first time) solo traveller I felt very safe here. Highly recommend!!

GermanyA great, cozy, and clean hotel. There’s also a small shared kitchen, which is super convenient. The location is perfect for visiting the Yoga Barn and it's not far from the center. United StatesAbsolutely Amazing Stay at Mandala Home Stay! Mandala Home Stay is a true gem in Ubud! The location is perfect—just a short walk to Yoga Barn, making it ideal for yoga lovers. Plus, there are incredible food spots nearby, like Home Cafe and Sayuri Healing Food, where you can enjoy delicious, healthy meals. The real highlight, though, is the hospitality. Kiki and her husband, Gandi, are simply wonderful! They are always available, incredibly kind, and genuinely care about making your stay as comfortable as possible. Whether you need recommendations, tips, or just a friendly chat, they’re always there to help with a warm smile. I had an amazing experience here and will definitely be coming back soon! Highly recommend to anyone visiting Ubud.

United StatesThe toilet did smell a bit even though the cleaned it extra.
The couple that runs the place are absolutely lovely, very responsive and goes the extra mile. They realized I drink a lot of water and brought a massive bottle of water to my room and refilled so I didn’t have to go out and get more all the time. Internet was really good, only spotty on occasion when the rain was really heavy. Super close to yoga barn.
